I & my partner enjoyed our short stay at the hostel. The place was clean, staff members were diverse and super helpful, caring and seemed to be passionate about their work. The hostel too is located in a great location from all the activities we had on our itinerary.

I have stayed in hostels all over the world, but never in the States, as I feel like they don't have a good reputation here. I really wanted to be in Philly, because my church was having a fellowship weekend and my usual hosts were not available. This hostel was in the middle of an alley in the center of downtown, so very convenient location. It was spacious with front check in area, pool table, kitchen, couches, and games. The decor is colorful and fun, with plenty of Philly inspired artwork. I received my key card and towel, then headed upstairs to the room, which had a large window and 6 bunk beds. The space seemed to be clean and well kept. There was a towel hanging on one of the hooks, so I put my towel (of a different color) next to it. When I returned late that night, I noticed that my clean towel was no longer on the hook. I looked around and saw said towel haphazardly thrown on a lower bunk bed that was not mine. Why do people have to ruin things?! I cannot fathom how anyone could think it is appropriate to use and much less, touch, someone else's towel! Feeling quite upset, I had to go back down to the front desk (which was thankfully 24 hours) in order to get a new towel. After that, I made sure to lock up my towel. The bathroom for the floor was pretty well maintained. Kitchen was nice and cute with plenty of spots to sit. There was free tea, as well as a machine providing coffee and chai for $1. I selected the Chocolate Chai, which was a comforting blend of rich cocoa and warm spices from the chai flavor. Overall, service was welcoming. The guests mostly kept to their own group, which is not what I'm used to when I'm in hostels internationally. However, I didn't really mind since I was barely there. I might consider staying again, but only as a last resort.

Love this Hostel!!! Pros: Nice and clean(Room, restroom, shower, lobby, kitchen, lounging area) Have automatic coffee machine,(not those Kerig) $1 a cup. FREE BEER NIGHT!!! Have charging stations everywhere! Even by your bed AND in your locker!!! Have Rocky movie poster on every floor indicating which floor you are on. Rocky(1st floor), Rocky 2(2nd floor), Rocky III( 3rd floor), Rocky IV(4th floor). They have pool table, piano, board game for your entertainment. Tons of restaurants within walking distance. You do need your keycard to get into the hostel AND to the stairs to your room. They have vending/soda machine by the kitchen Cons: NO Elevator!!! Sometimes it's hard to walk all the way up to the top floor. You might missed this street if you were wondering around on Market st, if you walk past 2nd or 3rd st, you go too far because this Bank st is between those 2 streets. I almost got lost a few times. The water pressure in the shower was a bit weak, not strong at all, but they are pretty warm so that's good. I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone who are staying in town for a few nights.

If you enjoy sleeping in groups, then the Hostel is for you. It is in alignment with a college dorm, and there are 18-4 people per dorm. Depending on the day of the week, the average price per bed is $40 per day and they increase in price as the weekend approaches. If you drink, they have "free" beer on the weekends. There is a large pool room with a Pepsi soda machine and a few large comfy chairs. The hostel is located across from the Museum of the American Revolution, on the corner, with an entrance located down an alley. As you enter, to your right there is a customer service desk that had three representatives ready to assist and a cleaning lady. If I am going to be honest here, living in a dorm with 18 people who are strangers and both sexes goes against my values. Plus, they are serving free alcohol. If you ask me, this seems like a recipe for problems or a law suit I am a christian, this is not a good idea for me because of my chri

I stayed at Apple Hostels for two days in October and it was a delightful surprise. Nestled in Old City, it's a convenient hub for exploring nearby attractions like Independence Hall. The warm staff organized themed events, and the communal areas were clean, inviting, featuring comfortable seating and musical spaces. The fully equipped kitchen was a boon for budget travelers. Cleanliness and safety were great in my 6-bed female dorm. The hostel stored my suitcase post-checkout. While there are two buildings, I explored one and found it charming. My experience here is flavored by bad luck ( I got sick the second day of my stay and checked out early). I arrived late (around 10pm) on a Sunday night to check in and while it took some time for the front desk staff person to appear, another staff member chatted with me while I was waiting and was very friendly. Check in was easy once staff arrived, and I appreciated that they checked my proof of vaccination. I was given sheets for my bed and a towel, and appreciated that access to most spaces required a key card. The common areas are well designed and seemed to be very clean. The stairs up to the bedrooms are a bit hefty - Be ready to climb. My room, a private bunk bed room, was spacious and had a desk where I could put my clothes. But, it was absolutely freezing and I couldn't find any way to turn down the AC. Also, the windows faced the alley, and there were people hanging out out front until very late, and the noise carried. While there were quiet hours posted in the hostel, and it did seem like most people respected them, they didn't really seem to be enforced. The bathroom was close to my room and was very clean. I think it could be fun to stay here outside of a pandemic (I imagine the multi bed rooms are pretty close quarters and I didn't see anyone wearing a mask), and if you have no early morning obligations. I wouldn't stay in the private bunk room again since it was pricey, but could see this being a fun place to stay with a group. Bring layers to wear in case you're cold. Overall a very average (3/5) experience.

I stayed here for four nights from Saturday through Wednesday in mid June 2022. I was in a 4-bed all female dorm on an all female floor. Unfortunately, it is a walk-up and does not have an elevator so I am glad I wasn't assigned to any of the higher floors. I overheard that some of the rooms are all the way up on the fourth floor but there could be higher floors. This hostel isn't for everyone but I'm giving it 5 stars because I had a good experience here. On the far end of the floor, there is a women's shower room with around 4-5 stalls with a two level shower curtain so you can change and undress in the area just outside the shower. Ample hot water and hairdryers in every restroom. When I was there, I was always the only person showering (probably because I like to shower in the evenings) even though I knew people used it because some of the showers looked wet. The showers had a two-in-one shampoo and bodywash soap available for use. However, it is placed rather high. I'm 5'0" and was just tall enough to reach it. Even though there are privacy curtains, there is a single stall shower available in the lobby for guest use. The communal bathroom closest to the stairs had about the same number of stalls but, again, I was lucky enough to have the entire restroom to myself the majority of the time I used it. The only time it would ever get busy is in the mornings after 8AM. All of the restrooms were always very clean with the exception to the toiletry shelves under the mirrors above the sinks. They also have events happening every evening, which I never took part in since I didn't drink alcohol. They provides labels for your food but I'd also recommend keeping your food, especially if it is individually packaged and unopened, a bag so people do immediately see its contents. It didn't happen here but my food has definitely been stolen before.

This place is great if you need an inexpensive place to stay the night(s) in historic Philadelphia. When I found out The Philadelphia House got shutdown I decided to try this place and it is fantastic. The service is excellent with clean bathrooms and showers. They have a kitchen area where you can cook for yourself and a pool table and lounge area. This is the best option if you want to be frugal in this city.

A fantastic place to stay if you are visiting Philadelphia on a budget. Super clean and super friendly. The location is a amazing. A little bit difficult to find at first. Its right off a street with ample bars and restaurants. They had the main communal area with a full kitchen so you can definitely make your own meals. There is a grocery store right around the corner so you can buy everything you need there. The refrigerator gets a little pack but thats to be understood. Overall, it was amazing and highly recommended.

Second time staying at a hostel this year-first time at this location. Great location around restaurants, bars, shops and public transportation. Like the idea of showing the vaccination card and getting clean sheets. Was never offered sheets in any hostel I've stayed in the past. I only stayed one night but liked how the showers were in a separate area from the toilets. No wait for either and they were clean. Like the Rocky music playing up the steps. Only thing I didn't like was there was no lock for the lockers (didn't bother me but I read they are offered in the vending machines). I stayed in the 4 bed female dorm and there were four of us. One of the women snored like crazy and talked in her sleep but that's the chance you take sharing a room. I'd stay there again . Not very convenient to the airport transportation wise . Had to take two different train companies and pay twice so I suggest a Lyft or shuttle if one is offered.
