I consider myself a foodie for great food from all ethnicity; I finally have gotten to visited Brooklyn Dumpling Shop on 34th Lancaster Ave, "University City" area after hearing so much raving about it from my grandchildren; Out having lunch with my oldest daughter; I tasted tried the Mix & Match 3 Flavors Crispy Dumplings, 12 pieces total (Wagyu Beef, Chicken Teriyaki, & Chicken & Scallion), which I had with two different sauces, the orange ginger sauce, which was my favorite and authentic dumpling sauce, all three of the flavor dumplings were good, the Wagyu Beef was the most tastiest one for me, but the Chicken & Scallion went very well with the orange ginger sauce... Next, the Chicken & Scallion Potstickers Broth bowls (Bok Choy, Shredded Carrots, & Scallions); Ok, the Bok choy was fresh with a crisp the broth gave me that Hot Pot vibe; I actually save the broth so I can chop up my own veggie dish with it, lol; I will definitely be getting that bowl again... I had the Dragon fruit Berry Lemonade with Mango Boba added drink; I would had like for the cup to had been a size bigger; It was a refreshing drink, it served it purpose... The lovely dessert, Smashed Apple Pie Dumplings drizzled with caramel, & cinnamon with a scoop of ice cream; Ok, that vanilla bean ice cream was delicious; I kept asking my daughter what brand was it or was it their brand; It had a rich taste to it and I'm not a plain vanilla ice cream person; It definitely complimented the apple pie dumplings; That was a treat... Lastly, I took home the rest of my food and the Korean BBQ Burger; Once I have something that is good, I will want it the next day... After trying my daughter's Orange Ginger Bites, I ordered my own bites, Korean Spice Bites, to go for tomorrow meal; I am definitely done eating for today... Overall, I highly recommend Brooklyn Dumpling Shop, which also have an extensive menu to choose from; I heard even more to offer online thru apps like UberEats...

I really wanted to like this spot, and the concept of unique fusion dumplings has a lot of potential, but I simply didn't love the food or experience all that much. I went with an order of the "Rueben" dumplings alongside a peanut noodle dish with crispy shrimp. The dumplings tasted nothing like a Rueben and honestly, weren't very good at all. Maybe a different flavor profile would have been better, but the taste wasn't there for me. They're also pretty small for the price. The noodles were also a bit of a disaster. I'm not sure where the peanut element was supposed to come in, but the whole thing had the consistency and flavor closer to supermarket macaroni salad than something from the continent of Asia. The noodles were bland and mushy. The fried shrimp was actually delicious in it -- it's a shame the rest of the dish was executed so poorly. Having a worker manning a window, but having to order for myself on a screen and then open a "locker" for my meal was crazy work. If it was meant to be experiential it missed the mark for me. They literally could have handed it to me, but I had to scan a receipt and wait for a magic door to open to get it myself. Lastly, the Drexel fire alarm went off mid-meal and I was told I had to evacuate, but could bring my food with me. I left the food behind and got out of there.

Food did not seem fresh-side noodles I received had pale vegetables and seemed to be missing seasoning. I received the wrong number of dumplings instead my to go order. There are much better options for dumplings within walking distance.

I popped into BDS during a walk on South Street. I had never seen nor heard of this place before, but it caught my attention during my after dinner stroll. It's a small shop with a few seating options and tablets you can use to place your order. I saw other menu items (burgers, soups, etc.) that were interesting, but the Apple pie dumplings with ice cream caught my eye. I placed my order and waited maybe 5-8 minutes before my name was called. I took the container from the gentleman behind the window and sat at a nearby table. Upon opening the container, I was surprised to find plenty of ice cream and 4 dumplings. The caramel sauce was limited, but I could taste the sweetness from that and it paired well with the dumplings. I enjoyed the dessert and would definitely return to try the PB&J option next time. Thanks BDS for a lovely, yet simple dessert experience.

Blown away by the peanut noodles. I often feel so heavy after a couple of bites, but this one was the perfect amount of creaminess and umami, without the intense salty feeling. I added $3 for the golden chicken, which was so so crispy and juicy! They were generous with the portion too, the bowl lasted me two full meals. The store associate was so nice!! Offered me free bottled water. Cute little store, with electronic lockers to pick up your food. Very innovative experience!

First time trying this place and it's amazing! Starting from the young lady at the register who was extremely helpful and delightful to the place being very clean & futuristic.We will be coming back especially for the dumpling soup,download the app it's worth it .

Do you little dumpling shop on college campus. The place is set up like one of those old fashion Automats. You walk up to the kiosk place your order wait a few minutes and then your food appears behind the door. But you pick up. My order was too big to fit so I didn't get the whole experience of getting my food from behind the little door. There's only maybe two or three tables inside, so don't expect to go in and sit down and eat. It's more of a takeout place. One bonus is, there's a tiny little square across the street we could sit down on the bench or eat in the grass and have a picnic. They have omnivore and vegan options. We like the food and we'll go back.

As an introvert, I can appreciate the idea of not having to interact with someone to get my order. So please go here knowing that you don't have to speak to anyone in order to pick up your order, very 2050. I can also appreciate the extensive sauce options as someone who loves different flavors- the peanut sauce was just ok but the dumpling sauce? SPOT ON. I got an order of fried veggie dumplings, an order of Korean bbq dumplings, and an order of seared chicken dumplings. I feel like for the price point, 6 dumplings per order is kinda steep. The dumplings aren't large in size, and I am glad I got more than one kind or else I would have been hungry. This is a good spot for a snack. My sons didn't really care for the dumplings. Oh they have an AMAZING garlic/ginger salad situation that is basically chopped cabbage, red cabbage, scallions, cilantro, red pepper, and carrots. I would come back just for the salad alone! I didn't stay inside the establishment because I placed my order online and wanted to take it home to enjoy.
