I was so excited to try this truck yesterday at the Newton food festival. It was the only Mexican truck there out of 15 or so. I've always wanted to try the one in the city but I never stopped. First I have to compliment the ordering system, it's very sophisticated for a food truck. You order, they give you a number, then they bring it to you. That was very nice. We went with 2 beef and 2 chicken. The beef was by far my favorite. It was very flavorful and spot on. The chicken wasn't very good. It was dry and flavorless. I loved the corn tortillas! At $8.00 for 2 it was a bit on the high side. The truck being called El Guaco I expected guacamole to be on the tacos, I was wrong. Overall it was an okay experience. The beef tacos are the way to go. Not sure if I would make a special trip though.

There's a reason there is never a line here... you would think the business owners would maybe be a little introspective and make some changes. I guess not. 1) No one on a college campus wants to pay $7 for 2 small tacos. That's why everyone goes next door to Burger Tank, where you can get a huge burger for not even $5. We're poor college students, what are you thinking?? You are also not El Camino, you're a food truck so...you should really look at your prices. You don't have the reputation to charge that. Example: Richie's 2) The "queso" tasted like cheap canned nacho cheese you would get at a ballpark. 2) For what it's worth, the burrito was also pretty sad. The rice was good in it I guess? But that's about all I tasted anyway.

Our office brings in Food Truck Vendors on a weekly basis, and El Guaco Loco was universally adored by our team. Some vendors have been disorganized. Some vendors are unfriendly. Some vendors showed up late. Some vendors have sold average tasting food. El Guaco Loco was none of those things. They arrived onsite 2 hours early to freshly prepare their food. Within a very short time they served well over 100 meals. They were friendly, and helpful, and accepted all major credit cards. I ate a chicken burrito bowl and it was super flavorful, shredded chicken, beans and rice were topped with fresh cilantro, and it was perfect. I opted to not have cheese or cream on mine, but had some salsa verde added, and created just the right balance of tangy/savory/spicy. The menu was vast, with many options from which to choose. I've had several co-workers already comment that they hope El Guaco Loco returns. I agree! (And next time, I want to try the guacamole!)

Ridiculously good tacos (with salsa verde!) Perfect amount of toppings, pork was delicious, and everything tasted fresh. The girl working was really nice, too. And for $5.50 (if I recall correctly), you really can't beat it for a quick and easy lunch. I commute, so I'm always on the hunt for inexpensive (quality) lunch options, and El Guaco Loco satisfied both my intense taco craving and my wallet. I'm really glad I gave it a shot despite the first not-so-positive review. You really can't go wrong here. Who doesn't love tacos?! I will be back. Probably tomorrow.

Visited this food truck when it was at the Porch at 30th about a week ago. It was good, but not too memorable. I do like that you can mix and match tacos. I opted for the 2 for $7 deal and got one tinga and one beef. Both were very tasty. I never know what I'm getting when I order "beef" at trucks - sometimes it's ground beef, sometimes it's steak and sometimes, like in this case, it's short rib. Very juicy and tender. The queso fresco on top was nice. Overall, tasty and affordable (and food came out SUPER quick), but I've had better tacos from other places.

There wasn't really anything that necessarily wowed me about this truck, but it isn't bad; it really does have potential. For starters, all the ingredients seemed very fresh; the vegetables were crispy, the chips were nice and crunchy, and the guacamole tasted like it was just made minutes before ordering it. I'd also like to point out for $4, you do get a very generous portion of chips and guac; you'd easily pay triple in a restaurant for the same amount. The staff was also extremely friendly and attentive. The only real downside is the chicken burrito tasted pretty bland, to the point where there was literally no after taste in my mouth. Even doused in the Salsa Verde, there still was hardly any kick. If the chefs improve the seasoning of the food, paired with the fresh ingredients they use, this truck could be absolutely incredible

I want to start out by saying that I thought the food was okay overall. I got a pork quesadilla from here and ordered from UberEats. They were also very quick with my order which I did appreciate. I am giving this place a one star because I unfortunately got very sick from the quesadilla. I had to go to the hospital and it was determined that I had food poisoning. I wasn't sure what it was at first, but my boyfriend and I have had the same meals all week, except for the lunch received from this place on Friday (09/22/2017). He got the chicken burrito and felt fine afterwards, and I got the pork quesadilla....only I was sick. This place can be a great, but I think more sanitary conditions or better food preparation is needed.

I use to go here semi-regularly, but someone new started working and I had a very bad experience with them. I asked for four tacos and paid for four, but only received two. I discovered it once I had sat down to start studying and didn't have time to go back and take care of it. The next day I was very nice and went back and asked if I could have four but only pay for two because of the day before. The woman was rude and told me I should have came back then, then accused me of receiving free food. I told her I didn't have time and she said she didn't care because she couldn't remember the previous day. It was a very poor experience. I won't be returning.

I felt compelled to say a little something about el guaco loco it fell short on many fronts for starters it wasn't busy today and I felt as though they could have done a better job with the portion of the meal, second the dabble of guacamole I Ordered was 1.50 more and it barely made a dent in the dish which was already extremely dried out. For a dish that was prepared fresh the ingredients fell short, third the pork verde sauce which I was looking forward to was missing there was very little juices to mesh with dish. I told the girl I was a writer and food blogger so I guess she probably didn't take it to heart. Her service was about as dry as my dish. I compliments her on the trucks color theme and mask from the luchadores she simply ignored me. I sat and ate my food right there but overall it just fell short. With all of the great Mexican trucks out there and the competition you have to bring it each and every time. Maybe the cook had a bad day or an off day I wasn't really impressed. Flavor wise the dish could have rocked had it a little more sauce more love and more guacamole a little more love goes a long way in this business. Not to over them total bad reviews the food was hot and fresh well packaged and the truck was very clean but that should be a standard with trucks come on guys step up your game.
