Eris Temple has always proven to be a diverse D.I.Y. spot for arts and music. But they took it up a serious notch when they cleared out the front room and converted it into a full blown arts wing. Now you can see all kinds of paintings, graffiti inspired work, and multimedia projects inside, and it very much feels like your walking through a gallery. The Temple has always been known for it's parties and the diverse acts that they've managed to bring in for them, and the opening reception was no exception to the rule. The always mazing Radio Eris played a set that only they could, and The Radarmen landed the mothership with their interplantery alien rock. But Behold The Protong tripped out the evening the most with their tripped out electronic music and visuals that made you feel like you were tripping. But they even had poetry readings, and sideshow performances courtesy of the Squidling Bros. Circus. If this show was any indication of whats to come here, then I'm sure as hell psyched to find out.

Oh sheeet..I just typed this in out of curiosity, and it was actually on here! If you like crazy psy-punk-space-rock-experimental-everythingunderthesun music - come check out a show sometime! Last show was comprised of acoustics, rock, and hipsters gyrating to some crazy guy with a beat machine that went WAY over his allotted time... Had some fuzzy memories from this place - and they're gonna become even fuzzier if they don't have another show - SOON!!! I shall be there, no doubt! :)

Hopefully I can edit this review and give the place more stars. I really love DIY house shows, they always find good bands somehow and are basically free. This is really a store front but several people live here I believe. On a borderline shifty street which makes it nice and quiet and no problems with having late shows, but be careful not to smoke out front on the sidewalk (cops may think you are up to no good) Easy to find and get in to, decent sized entry hang out room cool posters for sale. There was even hot dogs, hamburgers, and boxed wine...courtesy snacks i guess! The bands play downstairs of course and the ceiling is VERY low, like people over 5'5'' will have to sit down or duck, I had no problem though. The reason this place lost stars is because the bands started pretty darn late but took too long to switch between sets, so I got bored, and then the speakers went out and the sound was totally fucked and the crackling and horror of it all just became too much and I left. Also I may have been drunk. I'd still go back again and again. BYOB, smoking inside is cool.
