Although I live a block away from this store I've never frequented it in 25 years until last week when, in need of tonic water, I paid $4 for a regular bottle that retails for approximately a $1.50 in most supermarkets. Even with a $1 mark up, $4 is excessive. Nothing in the store is priced-you just get sticker shock when you take it up the counter to pay.

Dare I say the best corner store I've ever had the pleasure of patronizing. When I was out running errands yesterday and time got away from me, I knew I needed to stop somewhere for a quick bite to eat. I just happened to be parked around the corner on Catharine street when I saw Guavaberry's sign & decided to stop in. Immediately when I entered I noticed how clean and meticulously organized the shelves were. There was a wide selection of drinks of every type & the other snacks, toiletries & home essentials were well stocked. From what I noticed, everything is labeled with a price tag which I certainly appreciate. I made my way to the deli counter & a gentleman who appeared to be the owner greeted me and offered to answer any questions. He even walked me through their digital ordering monitor when I obliviously did not realize it was just to my right. I ended up ordering a BLT on rye per his recommendation. As I waited just a few minutes for my sandwich, there were kids playing and running inside and out, seemingly asking their parents for pocket change to get treats. The gentleman and woman behind the counter paid no mind, and even welcomed them inside with a smile. There were also two young children helping out who I presume to be their parents, the owners. One of the children brought me out my bag saying "I think this must be yours, here you go" & I said "Yes it is! Thank you very much. Have a good evening." and the echos of multiple goodbyes from the kids ushered me outside. I tried the sandwich in my car before heading off to my next stop, and was happily surprised. It was a solid BLT. Better than many I've had at other delis & sandwich shops. Everything was very fresh & the sandwich held together well thanks to the parchment wrap. They even threw in a pickle spear, neatly wrapped, which as a self-proclaimed pickle connoisseur I was very please with. All-in-all, Guavaberry is a welcoming, family-oriented, well stocked & organized gem. I'm not in this part of the city often, but when I am, this will be my new go-to.

I am so glad to have discovered this store during the pandemic. I might have overlooked them otherwise. The store is well stocked with food and sundries. For example, have you been unable to get flour or yeast at the supermarket? They're here. All the prices are quite reasonable (remember, this is a CONVENIENCE store, so while prices could be higher for some items compared to the bigger stores, we find them reasonable). In some cases, their prices were LOWER than bigger stores (e.g. Progresso brand soups, oddly enough). The store is very clean, so you feel safe going there in that regard. Let me say that when I discussed this review with my wife, she advised me that there was no reason NOT to give the store 5 stars. Price, cleanliness, selection, good hours... they hit all the right buttons. This is a local resource that should be patronized sufficiently ti keep them in business.

Excellent bodega. Everything is clean and tidy, plus they're constantly swapping in new products (excellent selection of seltzers, iced coffee and more). They also make a fantastic bacon egg and cheese for a good price. The owner is also friendly and helpful, which makes me all the more happy to support Guavaberry.

Went in their to grab some drinks on a hot day and the ginger lemonade I got hit the sport! The lady that was checking us out was quite nice and there were a few tables to relax at. Overall good experience.

Been here to this store few times. Place very convenient, warm welcome, the store have a lot of stuff with a good price. The deli is always fresh. Love this place. Definitely coming back.

It is convenient for me though it's a little on the pricey side. But i mainly give it only 3 stars is because I bought a lemonade in a glass bottle and they gave me a bag with a hole in it. As I was walking home, it fell out and shattered and yes, i tried to get a refund or another lemonade... they wouldn't give me either one, also, i was out of money because i'm only 12

What more could I ask for as my local convenience store? The selection is amazing and the service is super friendly. I do not agree with other reviews that this place should be the equivalent of wawa. if you want wawa as your convenience store, then move to the suburbs where they are everywhere. i do agree with 4 stars because they are closed on Sundays, although i do understand that they deserve a day off...

I really love Wiccaco. I tend to stop in before work for a breakfast sandwich at least once a week. I love their snack and drink selection too. I like weird beverages and they have so many to try. I've also had other sandwiches from the deli and they've all been really good. In a pinch, I can get just about anything I need there. (cat food, laundry detergent, fresh fruit, and so on) It's a bit nicer and more well stocked than the average corner store without being like wawa, which is nice. Everyone that I've interacted with that works there has always always been really nice.
