A hidden gem- it's been almost a year. I am surprised to be the first on Yelp to post a review. The cocktails look great here from the talented bartenders but I wasn't in the mood for alcohol. The crowd who comes here knows the weird vibes and fit right in. LGBT friendly and intimate, yet despite the weird decorations fitting in being Kung Fu Necktie's more prominent sister. There is even a Kung Fu Tie reference by name in the decor. I only got a few points for my fanny pack, haha. I really like the glowy bunny the most because the color lighting and the fact it was a bunny made me think "Donnie Darko 3." ("Donnie Darko 2" is S. Darko.) This place does not have an elevator sadly. I want to invite some friends but I don't think they can climb about 200 steps ;( I was with a friend who learned how to bartend and he was impressed at how one of the bartenders was using two shakers fluidly. There was a lot of noise and the bar was typically quite busy for a Saturday night. He thought there wasn't enough talk but I mean there was a lot of noise, a lot of drinks being made , and when we wanted something else, it was done reasonably promptly , I didn't think otherwise personally. There were either some regulars or so and so really knows so and so. Very local unique dig for your "neighborhood " bar. We would come back.

Neon Clown Dream Lounge is such a cool and unique spot. The vibe is wild colorful lights, creative decor, and a really fun atmosphere. The drinks are top-notch and super creative, definitely not your average bar menu. The staff is friendly and makes you feel welcome right away. Music is always good too, and the crowd has great energy without being too much. It's one of those places that feels different every time you go, in a good way. Definitely one of the most memorable bars in Philly highly recommend checking it out.
