This was my first time renting with Payless Car rental and I was EXTREMELY hesitant because of the awful reviews BUT my experience was FANTASTIC! I would DEFINITELY rebook with this specific location again! 1) Make sure to book your car durning their hours for a seamless pick up and drop off! Their office hours are when the shuttle starts to run! We only really waited about 15mins after the plane landed for the shuttle. 2) The shuttle service was great and prompt! Pick up ran smooth and easy! The two young ladies helping were awesome! The car was exactly what we wanted and I'll be renting from Payless Car Rental again!

I usually rent from Hertz or Enterprise and have never had any major issues, but decided to give Payless a try.........big mistake. When I arrived, there were no cars readily available, even though I had a confirmed reservation. I ended up waiting around with no clear communication from staff. The worst part? The manager was extremely rude and dismissive, offering no apology or explanation. It felt like my business didn't matter at all. The whole experience was disorganized and frustrating. I'll definitely be going back to my usual rental companies. Payless is simply not worth the headache or the time. I'd rather pay more at a company that treats customers with basic respect.

Like a lot of the reviews I'm seeing, they close at 6pm which is a weird time for an international airport rental company to close. Flights came in later than expected and they were unwilling to help in any way. They just said "unfortunately there's nothing we can do" and happily kept the money. I fly all the time and typically I see setups where if one company is closed, a nearby company can handle the paperwork and still give someone the car they ordered, but that doesn't happen here. I am disappointed and hope one day you are held accountable for all the customers that experienced this.

They should have mentioned that they close at 6 PM(?) and that shuttle service is not available from the terminal to their facility. Waited for a while, called customer service twice and finally found out that I should catch the shuttle to Avis/Budget. Fortunately the Budget desk at PHL was able to help me. Also lucky I wasn't attempting to return the car after they close, hopefully there's a sign on their door. BE MORE INFORMATIVE IN THE RESERVATION PROCESS - IT MATTERS!

I reviewed a couple of car rental places prior to booking here, and to be frank, a lot of them had poor reviews. I had to take a chance on one of them, so this won out. Booking my reservation through American Airlines (who I flew with this trip), it was an easy transaction and I made sure I printed out everything I needed in order to simplify this for everyone involved. Once landed, I was supposed to call to alert the shuttle, which I did promptly and after a few rings, a lady answered and told me to go to a certain zone to be picked up and to look for the shuttle that said Payless. Once the driver Steven arrived, everything was looking good. Only a few others were picked up from other terminals after me, and we all chatted the 10 minute or so ride to the facility. From after calling the dispatcher to getting to Payless, this took less than 20 minutes. The building itself had a small lobby but it was clean, nice and warm inside. There were three associates behind the counter and the nice lady in the middle assisted me right away, her name might have been Susan. I had all my documentation handy, and this was an easy transaction. There is a $200 hold which is understandable, and I was paired with a 2022 Nissan Sentra. I was able to wait inside out of the cold while they were getting the car ready. After about five minutes, 'Susan' let me know the vehicle was getting ready to come out. The person stopped the car, handed me the keys, and ran off but I was able to figure it out for myself. Setting up bluetooth and getting my maps up took a minute, but once I had it, everything was fine. Getting around for the next four days went smoothly, and since fuel is (MUCH) cheaper out here, it was under $20 to fill the tank up (a little less than half full). Upon returning the car by 4p on Thursday, Teddy was the one who I had this time, and he was super-friendly! I did save some money since I brought the car back before its due, and the $200 incidental fee has already been credited. Service was the other great thing about this place from Steven the driver, 'Susan' the first lady who set me up, and Teddy upon return. The only one I could have used more help from was the one who physically dropped off the car since I really don't know how to operate a push button car (this ended up being very easy, but as one who still uses a key, this was still a new thing) nor was I familiar with the car model but it could have been much worse. Have to say this was a good experience, and I would absolutely consider using them for my next trip when I need a vehicle while in town! I would happily recommend Payless Car Rental-

I BEG YOU NOT TO USE THIS RENTAL COMPANY. They left us stranded at the airport, the shuttle never came and they wouldn't answer their phones. We were forced to get a last minute rental with Hertz and it cost us an arm and a leg. This place should not be open.

Warning!! They close very early and they do not take a bus to the airport unless you can find the right phone number and call them and somehow they actually answer. And same when returning. Make sure they are not closed and make sure you have a buss to the airport. They close returns very early afternoon and have no busses to the airport. Also the car I got had the airbag not working warning flashing so it was I am sure not legal for them to rent out with safety systems failed.

I have never recommended a rental car agency before. This was very easy. We called when we got our bags, the shuttle was there in 10 minutes. Teddy did a great job checking us in. Korren was efficient and checked us out. Straight to the airport. No issues.

I waited half an hour for a shuttle to pick me up at airport after 6p Wed. It was full. I called and they said I needed to flag it down and another would be there eventually. I am sweating just waiting here. Never again.
