This particular shop rite doesn't give bags and check your purchases. It's the downside of shopping in the city. But, many city residents have no other choice.

Not completely what I'm used to seeing when it comes to a ShopRite but not bad. It was clean and reasonably organized. They had displays or as I like to say stuff. I was able to find most of what I was looking for but the place where there should have been a basket tray full of ginger was very bare and what was left looked pretty old and worn. I know you don't wear food but these remnants of ginger looked like that had to have been worn because the wear and tear on them. They could have had few more cashiers but that has been my experience with ShopRite lately. It's a decent supermarket with a variety of foods and more that cover a number of ethnic foods and such. I like them. As for customer service, I didn't encounter anyone so I can't share that experience. They were out of ad with coupons and it is only Monday. I wonder if the store gets a bonus for all the savings that their customers could have received. I don't know just thinking out loud. Anyway! Happy I decided to stop in and give Shoprite another whirl. They had circulars and the ginger was a little better.

Just left Island Ave shoprite (mine u I been coming here for the pass 13yrs)...Today I was stopped and checked no problem because I did open up a bag of cheese curls for my 2yrs old son after I paid for them...The problem came when it took 10 minutes because the dude check every single item and even when he stated he couldn't find the cheese curls or any other 7 items I purchased I showed him...He took so long and got to the point another association come over to help him check my items u see in this picture here...What made me more mad is u have people who had way more items then me walking right out and not getting checked...Today was ridiculous and upright not called for...And, the dude was just nasty and negative...I never had such an experience in my 13yrs of coming to Island Ave Shoprite...Ridiculous and embarrassing, how I treated!!!

I use this location as a convenience store rather than a full grocery store. They recently remodeled the store so it definitely looks better. But essentially they put lipstick on a pig. Most of the employees seem like they don't want to work there. No one smiles or even greets you with any resemblance of a positive attitude. I actually live directly behind the store and I go cross town to another ShopRite. Complete opposite there. They always have someone on the express lane along of plenty of registers open. Store is clean and the produce always seems to fresh and not picked over. On few occasions they are out of some of my regular weekly grocery items but the nature of the game.

Have you been here since the renovations?? This ShopRite now has anything and everything you could want. Beer? You got it. Hot food (jerk chicken, mac and cheese, peach cobbler, etc)? Yup! Chinese takeout food? Oh yes. Hoagie bar... I could go on and on. It's spacious and clean! I absolutely love it.

I use Shop Rite from Home @ Whitman Plaza. I think it's great. The staff are great, they are always friendly, courteous, helpful and professional. They all deserve a raise. My produce and meats are always fresh. Saves me money too, no impulse buys. Try it, you'll like it.

Is there a reading lower than a zero? The shop at home department screwed up some very basic instructions that required an understanding of the English language. When I pointed this error out to a young lady on the phone she informed me that she understands English which I find hard to believe because she went against my explicit instructions. In addition once again the produce that they sent looks ready to go into the garbage within two days. I will never again you shop at home at this location and then be missed treated for their screwup. BUYER BEWARE
