cheap, fast, delicious. i came here when they first opened and everything was flavorless - but that's no longer the case. i figured i'd give them another shot because i kept hearing that they were great. i got the pan fried pork buns and the mala sliced beef soup with hand drawn noodles. was done in 10 minutes and ready for pick up. broth in the soup was great - tasted like a bone broth similar to pho, with cilantro, green onion, and chili. noodles were slightly overdone which is how i remember them being last time. i wish they would only parboil them before adding to the hot broth. this is a great addition to the neighborhood. a nice substitute for Nan Zhou's spicy soup but in South Philly.

I've tried this place 3x to give it a fair chance. Unfortunately there food is BLAND.... And kinda pricey for what you get. I first tried the stir fry noodle at the ladies recommendation. Shrimp bullets and bland. Then I decided I would pay the $12 for the braised shank. Just a 1/2lb of bland beef. No rice. I asked for I small rice they charged 3$. Then I tried Mala noodle soup. No Ma no La. Wasn't spicy and I asked for extra.spicy. No a single schezwan peppercorn. I guess they think we are ignorant Americans. That is not true chinese food. Service WAS great, they are nice when they are swindling you out of your money..

I ordered Singapore rice noodles. They did not taste of curry at all and were so spicy that they were inedible. Big disappointment. Won't order from there again

Please add more flavoring to your food. It's good, well priced. Don't let y'all selves go under just listen to the customers! I eat here almost all the time.

I tried the Mala House Special Noodle Soup and it was very spicy. If you can't take spice you can ask them to lower the amount of Mala if you don't have a high tolerance which is what I did. It was definitely numbingly spicy. The staffs are very friendly as well.
