My husband and I got married at Down Town Club on 7/12/25. We fell in love with the space immediately when we toured it in Spring '24 and booked it immediately! The space is an architectural gem-- you could put nothing in it and it's still absolutely breathtaking. As for the planning process with Cescaphe, it was as easy and breezy as could be. We were planning from afar in TN so everything besides our initial venue tour was done virtually. Devan was our 'concierge' who was able to keep us on track with the timeline and provide recommendations. She was always quick to get us answers to any questions and it was nice to have a dedicated member of their team to correspond with! At the 3-month mark we were handed off to Hannah who was ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! If you have the honor of working with her, consider yourself so lucky. She was so responsive and on top of things, and her calming demeanor was perfect for the day of the wedding. Her attention to detail was also incredible. I think she picked up every single little thing I said during our calls. Our maitre d' was Mu who was equally as impressive as Hannah. I don't think my husband or I had an empty glass in our hands the entire night! Which is also the reason why I only made it to the bar once to see Tim, our head bartender, but from what I heard from ALL of our guests, he was great as well. All of our guests raved about the food-- the spread for cocktail hour, the entrees, and the dessert spread. Cescaphe really does have it down to a science! I attended a wedding at the Down Town Club last week for a good friend of mine and I found the event space to be very nice. The Down Town Club is located inside a very large building in Old City and takes up at least one floor. Once you're out of the elevator you are greeted by a giant glass table and a centerpiece. For the wedding, this table was used to hold the place cards, which informed you of the the table you would be seating at. Behind that table is a large hall with a few tables, a bar and some counters, which can be used to plate food and serve horderves. I suppose it could also be used as a simple waiting area. There is also a piano located i that area, which can be used to play some live music. The horderves, which were served were top notch. Some of my favorites included the lamb chops, lobster, shrimp and ravioli. I also loved how they had a full sushi bar along with some other traditional Japanese options including ahi tuna. The dinner and dessert was great as well. The dressing on the salad was very tasty and the filet minion was perfectly done. The dessert options here were out of the world. Mini-cupcakes, cannolis, funnel cake and more were all provided and they were all very delicious. The view of Independence Hall is absolutely spectacular as well. The Ball Room wasn't giant, but it easily held over 200 people without as if the room was, too crowded. The ball room was also quickly transformed from hosting the wedding ceremony towards become a place to hold a fun party. While I didn't use it, valet parking was available, which was a nice touch. Altogether, the Down Town Club is a very nice space to hold a variety of events including weddings!

Cescaphe out does itself here in the Downtown Club - from the never-ending appetizers - including fresh seafood - lobster tails- oysters, etc.....to the delicious dessert spread and breakfast at the end of the night! Food was fresh and cooked perfectly. Layout and design is perfect. Service was exceptional and always there when you needed them. They work like a well oiled machine, anticipating your every need, and seamlessly fixing any issue that might crop up without fuss. Strongly recommend The Downtown Club Wedding Venue! Thanks for a great night!!

The Quick: Excellent venue for a wedding! Could not be more beautiful- overlooking the city, great views, service, and the caterers they use are amazing. The Details: Perfect central location, beautiful venue, they take care of everything! Our friends loved their help for the wedding and we had the best time. The cocktail party had a live pianist as well. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a wedding, big birthday, engagement party, anniversary party, etc in Philly. The Damage: with a place this gorgeous it probably isn't cheap, but what wedding is? Look into!

Awesome wedding venue all around! The view of Independence Hall can be picture perfect and a great backdrop for your shots. The staff knows what it takes to meet your expectations and proceeds to exceed them in every way. The food is top notch and will leave you full and happy. Be careful because there are some areas in the dining hall where the sound doesn't quite carry as well, however, that wasn't an issue at all once the music started. Bottom line: If you are here as a guest or for your own special event, rest assured you'll have a good time and be taken care of well.

I had the honor of attending a farewell party for one of the best managers I ever had at a very specific jewelry company which used to be well-respected but has since gone to the dumps. It was nice to know that when this company still had valued its' employees, we would have lavish events at beautiful establishments such as this. Now onto the review of The Downtown Club...I remember I was just a 'junior' at the company, and was rather bright-eyed as the elevator made its way to the top floor where we were all treated equally to an amazing view of the nighttime sky of the city. Quite the sight to behold. From coat-check to the open bar, the service was top notch. I can imagine this would be a lovely venue for a wedding, and it looks from some of the other reviews, people made this wise decision and were just as impressed. Founded in 1897, it will continue to reign on Independence Square as one of Philadephia's most spectacular venues to hold your special event.

A beautiful venue with an amazing view of the Ben Franklin Bridge and surrounding historic areas. One couldn't ask for more as far as a posh place to succumb to the wedding scam which has at best a 50/50 chance of survival in a marital union which begins with lot's o' cash being exchanged (weddings are expensive ) and ends with lot's o' cash exchanged to lawyers and spouses in divorce settlements. When has "love" and "sharing" become a profit center? Sorry, I digressed. The food was a-ok, with lots of apps available in the cocktail room (4 stars), a below par dinner (overcooked and cold 2 stars) served in the banquet room. The speeches and toasts in the banquet room before dinner were inaudible. The echos made it impossible to hear clearly...sound bouncing all over the place from the plaster walls. And, of course, the music made it impossible to have a conversation without screaming. Overall, nothing new here. Enjoy the cocktails, space and view...suckers need to dive into the black hole of marriage ONCE in a lifetime. Might as well do it here.

Jaw dropping venue! Celebrated New Year's Eve at this gorgeous place. Event was organized by Dinner En Blanc Philadelphia Team and Cescaphe Event Group. Let me start by saying that every single setting was planned carefully in details. I'm all about the vintage and the classic - so it seemed that this was a perfect venue for my taste. There were three rooms to celebrate ringing in the New Year's in a French themed way. One of them had features of Moulin Rouge where it had a bar, a banquet and a cabaret by the Bearded Ladies. The other one was based on the Palace of Versailles where there were a few tables to sit, another bar and banquet, and an amazing live band. These two rooms had DJs after 12 am until 2am. I don't recall the other room's name but I believe it was the main one as soon as you enter in. I'm missing a couple of other details here for sure.. but honestly, it's too much to even describe. Bottom line, there was the opportunity for one to check out different venues, food and entertainment. They served a variety of culinary French delights. I wish I've had a large stomach to fit in all of the deliciousness that was available. NOTE: I got there hungry! Service was above and beyond outstanding. We had a champagne toast at midnight and enjoyed watching the fireworks at Penn's Landing. This was a themed party and I had a blast - imagine to have a wedding here. Must be the perfect place! I hope this party will be happening again to ring in 2016. Kudos to the organizers! Everything was on point!

We hosted our wedding with Cescaphe at The Downtown Club this past June 2016. From start to finish our wedding was magical. We worked closely with Kelsey and she was an absolute gem. Very knowledgable and professional. From our first meeting to the moment we left for our honeymoon we were treated like royalty. So many positives: service, space, that view, the food- lots of yummy food, the execution and professionalism. Everything was outstanding. They really have it down to a science. The view of Historical Philadelphia is super spectacular and special. Highly recommend having your ceremony in the main room facing the Windows. It's stunning! Thank you Kelsey and the Cescaphe staff for making our wedding absolutely perfect!!!

I came here for a holiday party the other night. I was stunned by how beautiful the space was. How did I not know this existed? Everything was clean, and beautiful needed minimal decorations to really shine. Service was on-top-of-things, and very kind. The food was beautiful, and delicious, and abundant as Cescaphe has a reputation of doing. The one place where I take away a star is the acoustics. The room has horrible acoustics. It would really behoove them to work some fabric panels onto the tray walls, or work some carpet in... or something? It was really difficult to hear speakers. I could imagine a wedding here to be tricky as the sound bounces around. All in all, if I have a reason to come back here, I'll be there with bells on... but if I were looking for a place to have an event, I'd want somebody to mention this to me...
