I attended a baby shower there. The event was in the back yard space it was decorated beautifully naturally. There were a lot of areas that you can take beautiful pictures and even though we did not have access to the inside, it seemed as though it was just as lovely as the outside. The spaces were clean and easy to access. I would definitely consider having an event there.

I had my daughters 21st birthday party here this summer and everything was fantastic. The booking was pretty easy and the staff members were very nice and helpful. I could not have imagined a better experience. My family and friends had a great time. People were talking about the space for weeks following the party. A few people were even talking about renting it for their events. I am considering it for my birthday party next year. I can not recommend this place enough. If you want a great space that you can transform into whatever your event call for, MAAS is the place.

The Maas Building is an urban oasis hidden behind an unassuming exterior. Ben and Catherine have artfully renovated the former brewery and trolley repair shop into an event space. There is a lovely garden, and a lofted theater space. It is an excellent spot for weddings, poetry readings, concerts, etc... On top of all that Ben and Catherine are lovely people, and extremely easy to work with. I am a professional wedding photographer, so I have had the pleasure of working events at the Maas building. I highly recommend that you check it out some time!

I recently held my baby shower here this past weekend and had an excellent experience. We rented the "Maas Space" which is their upstairs loft that comfortably fit ~ 60 guests at a very reasonable price. I inquired through the website and Joanna was very responsive to my emails. After finding an available date and doing a quick site visit, securing the spot was simple and effortless. A few days before the event, Maas provided a list of available inventory, including sound system, several options for banquet tables, wooden/metal folding chairs, high top bar tables/stools, and even coolers. We brought our own food and alcohol is allowed. Please note that you are expected to clean after yourself (sweeping, putting chairs and tables away) but it did not take much time with the help of a few friends. Overall, I would definitely consider holding another event here.

I attended a workshop taught by world-renowned motorcycle world traveler Anna Grechishkina. Yes, she has ridden her moto across every continent (except Antartica) I look forward to attending more events at this venue. This place is absolutely gorgeous. If I weren't already married I, my husband and I would tie the knot in the gorgeous garden at the Maas building.

Very difficult to get anyone on the phone despite several calls. Decided against having an event here due to this reason. It caused serious doubts about responses should an emergency or problem occur.

During the booking process of this venue, I was in contact with Joanna who was extremely nice and was very helpful. However as soon as I was contacted by Ben Riesman, the owner/operator, I was immediately treated like a piece of shit. Apparently he stalked my information to find out I was 19 (as if I was trying to hide it) then proceeded to tell me how he shouldn't have allowed this rental to have taken place because in his mind I was clearly up to no good...because only 21 year olds are responsible... Anyways it was whatever I put him in contact with another person who was 21 and responsible for the event and they worked things out. Then we went to the building (which honestly isnt that great/worth the money) and had our event. We were pretty civil. We did make a mess but cleaned it up and put it in bags as requested by the owner. In his defense we did not put the bags where we were supposed to leave them. Regardless for 2 months after he did not contact us about returning our deposit and when we reached out to him he once again was extremely rude and said it reeked of "kids getting drunk" which was not the case since only 21 year olds were allowed to drink at the event. He used that and trash that was in the street (not even from us) to justify cutting our deposit return down to $50 from $200. That is whatever we can learn to accept that except that he also pretended he had contacted us through text a week after to return the deposit but since we "didnt respond" to the message he never sent, he feels that it has been long enough that he should get to keep our money... All-in-all if you want to overpay for a shitty small venue and a douchebag owner that will do anything to keep your deposit as well, then book Maas. If you are looking for a nice venue that doesn't look like someones attic and owners that understand the slightest thing about customer service go to Loft, or Coda, or literally anywhere else.

The Maas Building checked all my boxes for a wedding venue and the day of couldn't have gone better. I had a few reservations going in (worried the loft would be too small for seated dinner, not enough bathrooms, not enough rain coverage) but all my worries were for nothing -- it went perfectly. We had 100 guests and did a standing ceremony in front of the doors and a seated dinner in the loft. I was worried it'd be too tight, but it ended up feeling really intimate and comfortable, people still had plenty of space to move around and navigate. The garden in late September was absolutely stunning and it was so special to hear birds singing during our ceremony. Even our concerns about no rain coverage was proved wrong when a TORRENTIAL downpour started at about 9:45pm. We were hosting our dancing downstairs behind the blue doors which could've been disaster if it weren't for the canopy over the patio. It withstood some of the most intense rain I've ever seen and kept everyone happy and dry. Our guests had an amazing time and loved the venue. Communicating with Lauren was always a breeze. Wouldn't hesitate for a second to recommend Maas to anyone else looking to have a unique DIY wedding. Really made my dreams come true.
