U Bar is perfectly located between Here and There. Plus it opens every day Before (1100), During, and After (0200) . We dropped in at 1330 on a Saturday afternoon. We were given an opportunity to partake a brunch or lunch. We chose the later. It was ridiculously inexpensive: tomato soup and gooey grilled cheese sandwich for 9USD and Chicken Shawarma for 11USD. I know, right? Draft beers cost about 6USD, so, of course we had to stay for 2 each! Bartender was attentive and never lost his cool when the place got packed. U Bar earns 4 stars!

Hung out here at the last minute to catch up with a newish friend. We had a gracious female bartender. Even though I didn't feel I vibed with most of the crowd nor the parade outfitted looking members outside, it was real nice to catch up with this newish friend. The age group and community here feel like more of a fit for me personally. I am not much of a bar person normally. Don't care for the drinks typically unless they are expensive cocktails then maybe lol.

U Bar is a fabulous Bar, it gives a friendly neighborhood vibe in the middle of center city Philadelphia. The owner, bartenders are amazing. The food is delicious homemade and affordable., the cocktails are crafted with care ! They also have an inn upstairs from the bar. The inn has visitors from all over the world ! Everyone always has a great time, you gotta try, you will thank me.

We had brunch at Darling Jack's Sunday 4.27.25 and needed to kill some time before Philadanco at 2pm. I looked on maps for nearby cocktail bars and found U Bar. We were here briefly. Bartender was welcoming. He made a delicious cosmo. He was clearly working hard to make sure everyone had what they needed. Chill crowd of mostly men enjoying their drinks. Nice big bar and open windows in the front. I would definitely stop here again in the future.

Very well attended, well maintained, nicer vibe than other bars in town. My go to bar. Of course, it's not a dance bar or a pool bar or a piano bar. But for those of you looking for those options, they're in Philly too! Welcoming staff!

This is the bar on the area to hit up for a casual happy hour or night during the weekend if you're looking for a diverse mix crowd that's actually pretty full. This might be the only bar that is consistently packed. The downside is def that there is not as much seating when the back room has special events occurring. The back patio is also very cute and opens up the space more. It's def sports bar vibes but also not. It has a front and back door so that makes exiting the bar very easy and you do not have to squeeze back through the front. They have food but I've never tried it. The bathroom is very standard generic. They def do decent drinks here on top of the usual beer and well drinks.

I kid you not this was the worst bar experience I've ever had in my life. Mind you I'm not from Philly, so maybe this is how yall act and are okay with people talking to you and handling you like that-- but my friend was just looking for his other card to pay because he had lost it, and the bar tender took the drinks from us and started yelling at us that it had been 15 minutes and if we weren't paying then no drinks. I have NEVER had a bartender do that to me, and again maybe yall are just like that up here I don't know, but one thing about it you do not talk to customers that way-- we were in the middle of finding a solution, and he treated us so unkindly. He wore glasses and had white hair and a white beard. I don't know who owns the bar, but maybe check your waiters to see if they have some manners. I was literally about to take my card out and everything. And ALSO my mouth was already on the straw, what was the point of taking the drink away, were you gonna give it to somebody else??? Like he just assumed we weren't going to pay it was WEIRD energy. SO weird. So yeah, go if you like being treated poorly and talked to crazy.

Even before moving to Philly and just visiting, I loved coming to U Bar and last night was no different. While not a huge amount of space, it leans into being a nice neighborhood bar style place. The bartenders are extremely friendly. Chatting with my husband and I while making drinks throughout the few hours we were there. Even the security guard said hi and gave us a quick fist bump. The drinks were nicely poured where they are strong but they still taste smooth.

I visited on a Saturday around 530pm. It was a full bar but I got immediate service. Had deviled eggs and it was a good appetizer. There were mostly LGBTQ males not women, but over all a great experience.
