Great experience overall! The staff was super helpful and friendly, and we were seated almost immediately--no wait at all. Service was quick, and the food came out fast and fresh. They have a wide range of options on the menu--from duck and chicken to rice dishes and more. There's also a great drink selection, including soda, boba, milk tea, and Thai tea. The atmosphere really stood out to me. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by a beautiful setup: a tree with cards hanging on it, fish tanks, and statues that give the space a calm and interesting vibe. It's a unique touch that adds to the experience. Definitely a spot I'd return to. Great food, great service, and a really nice ambiance.

I've been to their other locations in Deptford and New Brunswick in NJ and was not impressed with them and not that impressed with this place, too. I only came here because my family wanted to come here. This place is smaller than the NJ locations, almost half the size, of the ones in NJ. But I gotta say the interiors always look good and really pretty. When you walk in, it looks like very impressive because there are so many choices, but I found them all just average and some below average. There's a lot of Chinese hot food choices (oxtail, warm crab legs, short ribs, walnut shrimp, etc), some American food choices (pizza, fries, chicken nuggets, ect), very abundant raw bar (oysters, clams, various snails, cocktail shrimp, etc), sushi (sashimi, marinated sashimi, rolls, etc), made to order ramen, individual hot pots, drinks (bubble tea, canned drinks, soft drinks, Ramune, etc), and dessert (ice cream, cakes, cookies, etc). So, there are definitely a LOT of choices, but as I mentioned, the food tastes eh. The raw oysters and clams don't taste super duper fresh. The short rib meat at the grill was very overcooked and dry. They are having a promotion of unlimited lobster tails and steak. But the lobster was super soft, not typical for lobster tail. I would only come here if other people want to come here. The pros is that there are a lot of choices, so there will be something for everyone. I did like that they have ice cream and different drink choices to try and that they have sashimi, but you could already tell that it's not the best because of the way they cut the sashimi in big chunks. But the con is that you shouldn't expect high quality food and it seems like there is a lot to eat, but at the same time, not much to eat. So, if you want a buffet with a lot of choices and don't care about the quality, then this is the place for you.

Highlights include fresh sushi options , decent hot pot soups , variety of seafood , and GOOD service - friendly and attentive staff The only downside is prices are slightly higher than expected. Overall, worth a visit - but not my top Philly buffet choice

Came here based on the good reviews! I know buffets can either be decent or bad. This buffet was okay. Most of the dishes were lackluster. Everything needed more seasoning. The sushi had too much rice and just didn't taste like anything. The boba tea tasted old. It was also very pricey! Not sure if I would come back but had to try. The only decent thing was the lobster and the filet which was a special if you posted about it!

Hot food was mid (meats were dry except leg of lamb that you slice yourself). Desserts and house-made drinks were not good with the exception of the sesame balls. Only thing worth it was the sushi/sashimi but there's more variety at the nj location. Seemed like they were understaffed as the waitress we got seemed rushed. Overall less variety and smaller with less staff than the NJ one. A bit disappointed. I did like how they had the chi peach sparkling water and an ok ice cream selection

Stopped in for opening day at the new Umi buffet location. Very similar assortment and quality as another Umi location, and it's spacious inside. You are greeted and sat, but there is a kiosk in the lobby if there is a wait time. Lunch special is always a great deal for all you can eat. Sampled a bit of everything - sushi and seafood were great buffet style. Fruit and veggies very fresh. Did not get to try the hot pot or ramen, but there is a large hot pot section and all is included in the buffet price. Also there are free included boba and tea drinks, and dessert as well. Thanks

First time, was impressed! Loved the scenery and the buffet selection was really amazing! Food tasted good and I'd def go back except for one thing that made me really uncomfortable - the server brought us the check and then pointed to the automatic % added which there are signs EVERYWHERE saying it gets split between the workers, and she told us to leave an extra tip that only she would get, if we were happy with her. This was UNCOMFORTABLE because the signs everywhere state that no tip is expected, and we had to sit there so uncomfortable as she pointed to it, and told us, and then after I left a few dollars (what I had, not many reasons to carry cash anymore) she followed us to the register and said something to the cashier in another language. I don't know about my friend, but I was so uncomfortable with it all.

This is a new location in a strip mall not far from Philly airport. Went for lunch and though the doors open at 11am, all the items were setup closer to 11:25am, so if you are in a rush, plan accordingly. The lunch buffet selection is expansive but not as much as dinner (if you want steamed snow crab or steak). They had myriad options including sushi, sashimi, cocktail peeled shrimp, salt and pepper head-on shrimp (one of my favorites if you like to get your hands into it and not afraid to devein the shrimp yourself), lightly fried snow crabs (another favorite), seafood (shrimp, clams, mussels) in a sichuan sauce (fantastic sauce), pork belly, ribs, wings, salmon, noodles, rice, hot pot and ramen. Some items like the baked scallops in their shell had more imitation crab meat and a few bay scallops but they also had items you don't find at typical buffets like Iceland Whelks, Baby Octopus, etc. Some of the items were better than the $100 buffets at Las Vegas but for only $21.95. A wide variety of mini boba, flavored iced teas, etc were also included. The sleepers were the American Chinese items like chicken with broccoli, beef with broccoli, walnut shrimp, etc. I loved the braised greens (collards?) which were slightly sweet with a garlicy finish, the green beans and the perfectly cooked (not too mushy) chunks of fresh broccoli. The only item that seemed to be a bit dry was the roasted leg of lamb, but it could just be that day, because another review raved about it. So this is not the place if you are looking for high-end omakase or a chef's tasting menu, but I was pleasantly surprised at the variety and taste of the buffet and the value. They were very good about refilling the wide range of items as soon as the container got to about half its quantity. So the next time you are at the Philly airport, take the 10-minute drive and try out this place as the antidote to the mini bag of pretzels you get on the flight. Dessert selection is OK and in line with an Asian buffet, but they also have fresh fruit. You can also get a to-go box by weight, I believe. Will be back as now I don't mind giving someone a ride to the airport if I can squeeze in a visit to Umi.
