My last review of year 2020! I am so glad I stumbled upon Aban a few weeks ago. I literally drive past this place almost every day, but it's off of a slight hill going towards 69th street so it's really hard to stop unless you're at a traffic light or you are purposely going there. The parking lot is only big enough to fit about three cars and it's always full when I drive by, but this particular time there was only one car in there so I figured it was fate I finally go in lol Aban is a really small Cafe with two tables and a counter with a glass refrigerator full of sweets and a bunch of hot food options on the menu which surprised me! I noticed the samosas and air fried chicken at the counter inside of a small heating station and I just had to get some. What surprised me where the prices. Everything was virtually the same price as going to a cart for food. The only things that were over $10 were large specialty dishes but everything was relatively $6-$7 bucks. I ordered the samosas along with some chicken and rice. The chicken and rice was typical cart food and was pretty good, but the samosas were by far my favorite! They weren't overcooked at all and were full of spices and vegetables. I think total for 2 platters and for samosas I paid 20 bucks which is a darn good cheap eats if I say so myself. The wait was a little long (alarm 20 minutes), but the owner definitely recommended I call in ahead of time next time because that's what everyone else does lol Very cool place and the family that owns it is really proud of the food they make.

They didn't update their menus so the actual food cost more than it says on the menu, I feel scammed because literally the menu says $9 but I was charged $13 which is a whole $4 difference. No one there gave me a heads up, like who tf did I just give my money too?! And I'm glad I paid with a card because when I got my receipt and checked my back statement, the store isn't even called "Aban" it's called "Nil Kusum Food Inc," they didn't bother to change the sign, the menu, charged me an extra $4 so I feel lied to and the man almost made me pay an extra $3 because I asked for rice. HOW TF YOU GONNA HAVE CURRY AND NOT HAVE RICE??! So I said nvm and he decided to give me it for free. What Asian store doesn't give you rice with your curry? These people were not gonna get over on me, especially on my fucking birthday. A whole $16 on a very small portion of food is what they wanted but I was not gonna allow myself to pay extra, shouldn't be charging extra for fucking rice anyway. Don't come here, especially if you're another race, they'll try to take advantage of your money. Dine-in another Paki/Indian restaurant in UD. Disgraceful.

Recently discovered this place and no doubt a definite gem in my neighborhood! First off , the price is reasonable for the portion - but the quality of food coming out of the kitchen is definitely home style and darn delicious!! Variety is also nice with an array of traditional dishes and sweets I must say a great addition to the diverse offerings in my neighborhood! The service is courteous,prompt and the place clean ! Too bad I didn't know about this place sooner- check it out if you get the hankering for a Bangladeshi style cuisine, I'm sure you won't be disappointed
