We had a small event on the Carolina Girl and overall it was pretty good. It's truly a unique venue for special events, sailing around Charleston harbor with ever-changing scenery. The boat has two main decks, one inside with air conditioning or heat and windows along both sides, and an upper deck that's open air with a canopy. There's also a very small room on the lowest level they call the Key West room that can be used for some things but is generally not available for most guests. The boat has two bathrooms at the back on the middle level. Overall the boat was clean and didn't rock much in the calmer inshore waters of Charleston harbor. I will say their contract is very rigid, giving almost no rights to the customer; everything in it favors the Carolina Girl, even if things don't go as planned and it's their fault or the boat breaks down. Make sure you review the bill carefully because they claim they don't provide refunds for overpayments, but they do have a mandatory tip which they ask you to pay before the event even happens. The captain was supposed to call out sights along our route (he changed the route without telling us) but he never did. He also cut our route short to make sure we returned to the dock on time, only to arrive 15 to 20 minutes early. The owner's wife, Courtney, was helpful in the beginning to get everything rolling. Our coordinator, Camille, was very strict and at times not accommodating, but was quite professional. Kayla was super friendly and helpful on the boat during our event. But be warned they can be very strict on catering, food options, use of their kitchen, music, glass on board, bringing your own drinks, location of the dinning tables and more.

I attended a wedding a few weeks ago on this yacht and though it was a beautiful wedding it was really hot during the ceremony that took place on the top level. The staff was super nice and announced the safety rules before the ceremony and from there everything was great. There was a bartender on the main and upper levels and there were several areas for seating and moving around comfortably even with so many people aboard. The food was set up buffet style and had something for everyone, chicken, eggplant parm, rice, greens, salad, etc. The lower deck was super comfortable with larger tables and nice and cool temperatures. Everything was really nice and organized and I believe that we were out on the water for about 2 hours. This was a great experience and of course very different from traditional weddings.

We booked our wedding in early October on the Carolina Girl Yacht in Charleston and it was the best decision we could've possibly made. Camille, Courtney, Captain Bob, TJ and the whole Carolina girl team went above and beyond to make sure that all of our questions, concerns and needs were addressed and fixed if need be. Having a wedding on the Carolina Girl couldn't of been more perfect for all of our guests traveling to Charleston to be given the opportunity to see Charleston from a totally different perspective, that being, the water. The Carolina Girl provided every aspect that we needed for the entire event from the ceremony, to the bars, to the dancing and the DJ, to the food area and they helped us with vendors that would best fit our budget and needs for specific items. We would highly recommend the Carolina Girl for any of your event needs whether it be a holiday party or wedding, office party or reunion...there's just so many different events that can possibly take place on the Carolina Girl. As far as our wedding goes, it couldn't of been more perfect. We are super fortunate that the weather held up. We worked with such an amazing team and can't stress enough how much of a great experience it was having not only our perfect wedding but having it on the water in Charleston Charleston has tons of options for different event spaces but not many that can take place on the water through the harbors of Charleston so again highly highly highly recommend the Carolina girl for any of your upcoming event needs.

Had an awesome time for a corporate event on this charter. We had a dj and got to sail around charleston while dancing, having drinks, and eating a heavy hors d'oeuvres dinner. Time passed too quickly!
