This establishment was phenomenal! The environment was very welcoming, comforting, and clean. The central location was very convenient as well. The food was absolutely delicious! The Carolina Delight with the bacon and cheese was mouthwatering, creamy and savory. The build your own platter was full of choices and delicious. The best scallops I have had in a very long time and that says a lot from this New England Girl. The steak was cooked to perfection and seasoned to the Gods. This was our first time and certainly will not be our last. The service was exceptional from Emily S, definitely ask for her when you come. We truly tip our hats to the chefs, the owners, and all the staff, thank you so much!

Thanks for the great meal and service! The owner came and visited us a couple times - Victor - super nice! Lilly, our server, proved an exceptional server - everything was perfect! My sone gives them 100 stars! Well worth the visit! And who doesn’t want to eat where The Beach Boys ate!

What an incredible Charleston experience! We loved this place! The food was delicious. Large portions, great value. The service was top notch. Vlad took excellent care of us. The owner of the restaurant came by our table to say hello and see how we liked our food. I loved the conversation starter cards on the table. I also loved that the restaurant donates food to those in need. Thank you!

Hyman’s Seafood is my go-to spot in Charleston—great food, friendly service, and a laid-back vibe that feels like home. The she-crab soup is creamy and full of flavor, and the fried shrimp platter is always fresh and crispy, served with classic sides. The sweet tea is just like grandma used to make! What really makes this place special is the people—Victor and his team make you feel welcome, like part of the family. With its rich history and warm atmosphere, it’s a must-visit whether you’re a local or just passing through. Highly recommend!

Just good Southern style seafood. Daniel, our waiter, took great care and provided good recommendations. There was nothing to complain about in terms of the food. Given the hype surrounding this establishment, I expected the flavors and seasoning to surprise me a bit more, but nothing really stood out. Everything was what you'd find in any typical decent southern seafood place, so I didn't really get the hype. One might ask, "What else do you expect?" Here's an example: It's been many years ago that I had a Shrimp appetizer and a Coleslaw in a place called "Fiddlers" in St.Simon's Island - and I still remember being blown away by its distinct seasoning and flavors - even on the Coleslaw. That's why I'm inclined to say 4 stars here, because I'd like the restaurant to know there's a tiny scope for improvement here. It's also easy to order too much food at this place, so I'd suggest starting out with small portions.

Vi har kommit till Hymans i över 30 år. Aldrig besviken. Publiken fortsätter att växa, så räkna med en halvtimme eller mer vänta när som helst på dagen. Krabbkakor och Carolina Delight är våra favoriter.

Vi har verkligen haft vår erfarenhet på denna restaurang. Min fru och jag åt middag här, och varje rätt vi provade var full av smak och vackert tillagad. 
Vi beställde räkor i Nola-stil, som tillagades perfekt, med kryddor som var djärva men ändå välbalanserade, som erbjöd precis rätt mängd värme. Vår andra huvudrätt var den signaturstekta grynkakan toppad med räkor, en kreativ sydländsk rätt som var rik och eftergiven, precis som förväntat. Även om det var ganska rejält, smaker och texturer var exceptionella. 
Som en trevlig överraskning serverades vi gratis aptitretare och en sida av färsk, krispig coleslaw, som gav en uppfriskande kontrast till huvudrätternas rikedom. 
Atmosfären var varm och inbjudande, Servicen uppmärksam utan att vara påträngande, och gästfriheten fick oss verkligen att känna sig välkomna. 
Vi rekommenderar starkt denna restaurang till alla som söker läckra, väl utförda sydländska rätter i en vänlig miljö.

Överskattad. Jag ville verkligen gilla det här stället. Kraftigt annonserade och kräver belöningar. Överkokta räkor, över stekta små frysta potatisklyftor och hyschvalpar. Inte bra. Parkering är en mardröm. Varm slaw.

Berömda skaldjur i hjärtat av staden. Hush valparna är några av de sötaste, mest unika (och godaste) jag någonsin har haft. De stekta räkorna hade en bra knaprig panering.

Jag är inte säker på hur eller varför, men jag vet att jag var mycket imponerad av Hyman's Seafood. Vad kan jag säga, de gör läckra skaldjur sydländsk stil. 

Först tar de inte emot bokningar så var redo att sätta ditt namn på listan och kanske utforska lite innan du sätter dig. De nästan perfekt tajmade min väntan, men jag skulle inte förvänta mig att de alltid tajma saker och ting riktigt lika bra. 

Väl på plats, var beredd på en omfattande meny. De har sin fångst (er) för dagen och andra specialerbjudanden förutom en lång meny. För att undvika analysförlamning valde jag den rekommenderade räktallriken eftersom den också hade ett bra utbud av räkor. Jag visste inte vad jag skulle förvänta mig med BBQ-räkor (unika, goda, men förmodligen inte något jag skulle få för ofta). Jag älskade de stekta räkorna eftersom de var väldigt lättstekta. Ingen överraskning, deras kraggrönsaker var jättebra. 

Jag beställde en Bloody Mary att gå med min måltid och njöt av det - skulle rekommendera. De har ett avtal där man får en dubbel för några dollar mer, men jag bestämde mig för att stå över eftersom jag sprang nästa dag. 

Bra Service. Räkna med en uppföljning under din måltid från en av ägarna. En fin touch som gjordes för att söka legit feedback kontra att bara kryssa i en ruta. 

Jag vill gärna tillbaka till Hyman. Det får vänta tills min nästa resa till Charleston!

Min fru och jag och en vän hänvisades hit av en annan vän och vi blev inte besvikna. På vårt besök hade vi de djävulska krabbor ( 2 ) och Buffalo räkor combo, som var utsökt, liksom låg country räkor och grits, mandel sesamsallad, och bourbonglaserade brysselkål, alla bra alternativ. Vi hade turen att mötas av ägaren och starkt rekommenderas att låta honom eller hans personal veta om något var fel, vilket visade hur involverat teamet är på att upprätthålla hög standard. Servicen var fantastisk och mycket tillmötesgående. Definitivt ett måste - gör när i stan igen!

Vi har ätit på Hymans varje gång vi har besökt de senaste 20 + åren. Servicen och fisk och skaldjur aldrig svika.

Hymans är alltid vårt favoritställe att äta i Charleston! Wanda tog underbar hand om oss! Du borde prova Crispy Flounder!

Mitt besök på Hyman's Seafood var fantastiskt. Allt från drycker, mat och personal var fantastisk. Min Server var Chloe G hon var uppmärksam och såg till att vi alltid var nöjda. Tobias (en av ägarna) var också mycket uppmärksam, såg till att bord touch och kontrollera och be om ärliga åsikter. Skulle definitivt äta här igen om någonsin i Charleston igen. .

Maten och personalen var utmärkt. Längtar efter att köra 5 timmar och äta igen. Kommer besöka igen, räkor och gryn är min absoluta favorit.

Vi kom hit två gånger 2 år sedan så det var ett måste när du besöker Charleston. Personalen är vänlig och hjälpsam. Rekommendera dagens fångst i en karibisk ryckkrydda. Hon krabbsoppa var utsökt. Ganska kul att se foton på kändisar, politiker etc pryda väggarna.

Deras självbelönade betyg som "Bästa skaldjursrestaurang" kunde inte vara längre från sanningen. Deras meny består av panerade, alltför friterade, bottenlevande fisksorter, tillagade i samma fritös som deras soggy kalla pommes frites. Tyvärr, men den här restaurangen misslyckas i någon "Bästa" mätning. Trottoaren behöver en grundlig ångstråle med hög effekt, de slitna trappmattorna är tydligt nedsmutsade när man slingrar sig till dammiga vinklar och vrår i denna flervåningsrestaurang. Ta bort allt annat än redskapen från matborden. Vår server Emily S. var charmiga och hjälpsamma som alla Charlestonians.

Utmärkt skaldjur! Gumbo är fantastiskt. Min dotter sa att musslorna var de bästa hon någonsin ätit. Värt att vänta. Ägare kom och kontrollerade på oss för att säkerställa att vi njuter av vår mat. Personalen städade köket rikligt när vi lämnade. Rekommenderar starkt!

Jag är i Chalrestone för affärer och bestämde mig för att gå ner till centrum för lite skaldjur. Denna plats har 3 olika skaldjur nummer 1 , 2 , 3 med olika fiskar för varje kategori. Jag fick torsken som fanns i fisk nr 2 urvalet med bom räkor och sötpotatis sufflé. Fisken var gummiaktig och stekt i en konstig panering som jag inte gillade. Räkorna var hyfsade men boom boom såsen var långt ifrån bang bang sås. Sötpotatissufflén var bara sötpotatismos med massor av kryddor. Jag tror inte att jag skulle du tillbaka

Denna plats har både bra och några inte bra recensioner. De goda är välförtjänta. Men vet vad du kan förvänta dig. Det finns inga reservationer så du väntar utanför. Det finns några bord att sitta medan du väntar. De berättade 25 - 35 minuter vi väntade 40 minuter. Inte illa egentligen det var bra väder och vi människor tittade. Andra turister var lite griniga om det. 

Vår mat var mycket bra. Om du letar efter det hälsosamma alternativet, kanske detta inte är det bästa valet. Men om du frossar är det perfekt. Jag hade Carolina-glädje. En stekt grynbiff täckt med en vit parmaskinostsås med räkor. Räkorna kokades perfekt. Sidan av coleslaw var en kombination av grädde och vinäger bas. Mycket bra. Det rostade Bryssel var krispigt och gott. Rekommenderar starkt. 

Familjen fick den stekta skaldjur och var mycket nöjda med det. Den låga lantkokningen njöts. Jag såg en recension som sa att det var torrt och hade ingen olja. (Ledtråd - äkta skaldjursbölder innehåller inte olja. Om du letar efter en smaksatt olja, beställ inte denna. Om du vill ha den verkliga affären detta är bra) Det enda tillägget är kryddningen. Ofta Old Bay, så detta var perfekt för vår familj. 

Servern var verkligen och jag är ledsen att jag inte kommer ihåg hans namn för att ge en shout out. Han var uppmärksam, även om de var upptagna. Han höll mitt te fyllt! 

Chefen eller ägaren kom över och frågade om vi var nöjda med maten/servern, och frågade om det fanns något de kunde förbättra på. Jag tyckte att det var fint. 

Det enda att vara medveten om är toaletterna är upp en flygning om trappor eller i skyltfönster bredvid restaurangen. De äger butiken bredvid och det är den okej toaletten på bottenvåningen. 

Vi hade en trevlig måltid och en rolig tid.
