Probably the best meal I’ve ever had in Charleston. Everything was 5 stars! We sat on the back balcony which was lovely. It was a little chilly because it was February but not too bad. Everything we had was spectacular but the butternut squash was unreal!  This is a MUST dine when in Charleston

Holy smokes! This place is amazing. I was blown away by the food, service, and vibe of Southbound. From the Oysters Rockefeller starters to the tartare app (could have been my entree), the New York strip, and finishing with the banana pudding … blown away all the way through. A few of us were lucky enough to sit at the chef’s table and it was a top shelf experience. When in Charleston, I wouldn’t miss a chance to enjoy a meal here!

We knew when planning our trip to Charleston that we wanted to dine out every lunch and dinner, to explore some of the city’s top-rated restaurants. Our experience at Southbound stood out as one of the best—if not the best—of the trip.

From the moment we walked in, the hospitality was unmatched. Cami (love her!) was bright and bubbly. She welcomed us with champagne, making our engagement celebration feel extra special. We were seated at the chef’s table at 8PM, where the entire team was friendly, engaging, and never made us feel rushed. The staff were all so warm and hospitable.

We started with the foie gras, tartare, mortadella plate, and grilled oysters. For entrées, the 16oz ribeye was cooked to perfection, and the pork chop was massive—easily shareable between 2-4 people. Every bite was packed with flavor and beautifully presented.

The night before, we dined at FIG, and while the food quality was good, the service and overall experience at Southbound surpassed it—and every other place we had visited in Charleston. To the owners; you’ve hired a wonderful staff that showcases your restaurant with pride. Thank you all for making the night so perfect, we can’t wait to return!

Best dining experience in Charleston. Chefs menu changes every evening which will always make an experience unique.
Our server Michael was a hoot!! Adore him.
We enjoyed cocktails, wine, multiple appetizers, entrees, sides, and desserts! Oh my! I drank the Lisa Marie which was a delicious refreshing cocktail with St Germain.
Couldn’t say no to anything on the menu.
My only possible complaint would be that our table felt a little small for 4 people and lots of moving plates— but that’s a reach! I’m sure they would’ve accommodated but it was not a big deal. Experience was excellent. Service 10/10, food 10/10. The terrace was covered. It was a little chilly that night so glad i had a jacket.
Dishes we tried include: the pork chop, steak, potato lasagna, wedge salad, octopus…? Etc?
Dessert we tried the pumpkin cheesecake and the banana pudding.

Den hungriga detektiven och specialagent Deirdre hade en ovanlig upplevelse igår kväll. Det var min 60-års middag och vi var så glada att fira på Southbound... så att börja denna översyn kommer med ett tungt hjärta och kvällsevenemangen var första gången någonsin situation. Jag kallar det en situation som jag minns kvällen. 

FAKTA: Vi anlände och uppgraderades till Chefs Table och super glada att titta på och njuta av all action när maten förbereddes. 

RUB: Bra samtal med personalen... vi hade en underbar gratis sallad till att börja och sedan New York strip kom ut tillagad till perfektion... detta där saker går sidledes... Evan chefen bad mig att gå ut för ett samtal... det var då jag fick veta att vi inte skulle serveras vin med vår middag Service... mitt svar var följande: ”Vad gjorde vi som var så stötande att ett glas vin inte hände”

SVAR: “Sir du kan njuta av din måltid utan vinet”

DOM: Southbound och managern Evan är skyldiga som synd för att förstöra min 60-årsdag firandet som min flickvän a. k. a. specialagent Deirdre planerade... detta var första gången på 60 år som jag fick höra att jag inte kunde ha ett glas vin till min måltid helt bisarrt. Jag vet inte om vi återvänder eller om jag skulle råda mina 40 000 anhängare att återvända söderut... nog sagt!

Min man och jag besökte södergående för första gången. Hela upplevelsen var oklanderlig. Maten var anmärkningsvärd både när det gäller förberedelser och plattsättning. Servicen var ännu mer imponerande. Kyle var vår server och var otroligt uppmärksam, vänlig och gav fantastisk mat och vin rekommendationer. Vi kommer definitivt tillbaka nästa gång vi är i stan.

Fantastisk mat, bra service och charmiga historiska hem omvandlas till unik restaurang. Ring i förväg och få bokning på live - eld middag med kock. Älskade det!

Första gången du besöker Charleston. Den här restaurangen råkade vara på gatan vi bor på. Första natten gick vi förbi det och det var packat så vi gjorde en bokning för nästa gång. Vilket fantastiskt ställe. Charmigt 1800-talshus ombyggt till restaurang. Köket är alla vedeld och köket är rätt ut i det fria. Att se de 3 kockarna laga mat är en konst i sig. Bläckfiskappen var den bästa bläckfisk jag för närvarande någonsin ätit (jag har ätit bläckfisk i många andra länder). Våra 2 förrätter var grundaren och dubbel fläskkotlett. Skrubbskäddan var flagig med en gnocchi i citronkrämsås. Att dö för! Den dubbla fläskkotletten var fuktig och tillagad perfekt. Service var Michelin - stjärnkvalitet. Över allt detta måltid rankas i min topp 10 .

Du vet att du njöt av en måltid när du får gåshud berätta för vänner om det! Vi firade fruns 55-årsdag och möttes av en champagne toast när vi anlände. Vi satt vid kockbordet. DETTA ÄR ETT MÅSTE! Vi åt middag och en show. Kockarna var så charmiga och hade ett underbart sinne för humor. (De var tvungna med min galna familj) . Förrätten krabbtårta var fantastisk. Jag åt Durock fläskkotletter. Så mör och smakrik. Min fru hade havsabborre och hon älskade det. Min dotter hade lammet och det var det bästa vi någonsin haft. Tack till personalen för en underbar födelsedagsmiddag. Bra gjort.

Förstklassig service, fantastisk atmosfär, MEN upprörande priser. 4 cocktails på övervåningen $ 85 beore tip. Sitter utanför vid ett bra bord med utmärkt service. $ 72 för en biff tallrik. . . c'mon. Jag hade fläskkotletttallriken ($ 52 ) och det var ben torrt; min fru hade svärdfisk ($ 56 tror jag) och det var utmärkt. Jag inser att hyresavtalet för denna plats måste vara galet dyrt (som jag är säker på att de flesta restauranger handlar med) men headcrack prissättning stänger av mig.

Vi åkte till Southbound för att fira två årsdagar, en för föräldrar, en annan för vår dotter och son - i - lag (som reste till Charleston för jul från Australien) . Vi hade en underbar upplevelse! Vi möttes med glas champaign för alla och rosor för damerna. Maten var utmärkt och servicen lika så. Förrätter, huvudrätter, tillbehör och desserter var alla kreativa, väl - presenterade och läckra. I slutet av middagen tog vår servitör med sig två små kakor med levande ljus och en hand - skriftligt meddelande från restaurangen som önskar oss lycka till på våra årsdagar! Jag skulle starkt rekommendera Southbound för ett festligt tillfälle eller bara en exceptionell måltid med familj eller vänner! Och, det har en trevlig uppvärmd sidoveranda som är ett samtal - vänlig miljö, vilket blir sällsynt i centrala Charleston.

Vår middag på Southbound var verkligen exceptionell! Inställningen är fantastisk, och erbjuder en mängd olika sittplatser som passar alla humör - från den charmiga balkongen och Chef's Counter till den mysiga täckta verandan, terrassen och även en härlig veranda gunga. Vår server, Emily, var varm, uppmärksam och felfritt hanterade vårt livliga bord av fyra med elegans och precision. Varje detalj, från cocktails och aptitretare till huvudrätter och desserter, gjord för en kväll vi aldrig kommer att glömma.

Hard pass. Väntade i över en timme för att ens få mat. När fläsket kom var det kallt. Servicen var medelmåttig i bästa fall. Hade reservationer vid 8 fick inte mat förrän 9: 20 . När maten var sen var svaret/ursäkten ett datorproblem. Gör dig själv en tjänst gå till förbud eller någon annan plats för den delen. Låt dig inte luras av lukten när du går förbi som vi gjorde. Planerade en speciell kväll men var fruktansvärt besviken.

Vi bokade sista minuten med vår brorson för en 5 pm sittning och ursprungligen fick "spelningar topp" bara. Vid ankomsten lyckades de hitta oss ett bord men behövde det tillbaka vid 7 . 30 : inget problem. Satt där uppe på baksidan. Riktigt intressant inredning och bra musik som inte var för högt och lämpligt. Vi delade 2 förrätter - lammkofta och räkor - och sedan min brorson rev en 16 oz biff, min fru har Berkshire kotlett och jag hade Grouper med sötpotatis moule: en sticker ut. Dessert val begränsade så vi hade båda att dela: rispudding och mascarpone fylld crepe. En bra vinlista med mycket variation. Jag njöt verkligen av det. Känns som en plats att gå till för speciella tillfällen snarare än en avslappnad drop in. Parkering lätt.

Häftigt! Från det ögonblick vi anlände personalen hälsade oss med ett glas champagne och en ros för att fira vår årsdag. Vår servitris var mycket hjälpsam och kunnig om rätterna. Mina pilgrimsmusslor var ömma och söta, min man njöt av groupern. Varje rätt var perfekt. Vi lämnade utrymme för att dela en läcker crepe fylld med mascarpone ost och serveras med en restaurang beredd konserv av persikor med jordgubbar. Vi kommer säkert att återvända.

Bästa middagen i Charleston. Fantastisk atmosfär, mat och bäst av allt service. Caden är en rockstjärna och hela personalen inklusive värdinnan är fantastisk. Ett måste om du besöker Charleston.

Värdinna och servitris personal wasTOP notch. Atmosfären var charmig. Ankbrösten var hårda och torra och de gav bara 2 små strimlor. De krossade potatisarna var över - saltade så de ersatte dem med några små grillade majsklyftor. Vissa kanske gillar det, men jag kommer aldrig att gå tillbaka.
