One of the best values in Charleston! Delicious lattes and the baked goods are a hearty size. Friendly and fast service! There is a cute sitting area that looks like a library. Very cozy and outdoor seating is also available. Highly recommend!

We wandered into Bakehouse Charleston on a recent trip to the city, and I do not recommend it. At first blush, the decor is charming, but once we had our order, it was hard to find a clean table where the seats weren't shredded. We ate among the crumbs of a previous guest. For $33.01, we had a small slice of quiche, a small cappuccino, an iced chai latte, and a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit. The quiche was ok, and the cappuccino was delicious. The chai latte was from syrup, not brewed, and the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit was not good. The egg was ok, but the bread part was more roll vs. biscuit. The one slice of bacon tasted like the kind of bacon one buys precooked to microwave a few seconds to heat on a busy morning. It was disappointing to get a biscuit that cost $7.65 that was worse than a quick stop McDonald's. We've cooked and eaten many frozen Mary B's biscuits that were of a much higher quality. If you just want a coffee to go, Bakehouse Charleston is a fine choice. Having recently returned from Portugal where we had amazing coffee shop breakfasts daily, we were severely disappointed.

I really liked the vibe inside it was cute. The seats were all torn up though... but whatever. It was great to pop in and get some work done! I got the honey lavender latte iced and it was not good. Way too much sweetener. I couldn't finish it unfortunately. Their pastries looked really delicious though!

Not the warmest service but great coffee. We stood there without any greetings until the barista was ready to take our order. They have some baked goods but they don't look appetizing. Both our drip coffee and hazelnut latte were solid. For my latte, I like that it wasn't overly sweet or bitter-tasting. They also have a great space to work or study. One of the more laid-back coffee shops in the area.

Adorable cafe that is very DOG friendly! Bring them inside. The lattes and cakes are great but a bit expensive. They make their lattes sweet by default so mention that you want less sugar ahead of time if that's what you want.

I ordered the Frozen Mint Lemonade and Cinnamon Bun Latte; both had a strong taste and were good. The staff was friendly, but I found that the process for getting drinks to the customer was inefficient, as I had to wait for the entire group in front of me to get their drinks made before I could even order; we were the only customers there and there were several workers, so one person could've taken my order and then helped make drinks afterwards if needed. Regardless, my drinks were ready pretty quickly after I ordered.

A cute bakery with delicious food options! If you need a break when navigating down town, swing by the bakehouse and grab coffee and a snack. The baked goods were clearly fresh and the gluten free options were delicious. The service was great and the atmosphere was very casual and cozy.

Open modern looking shop. Employee was friendly and welcoming. Lots of delicious choices; I had the hot honey lavender latte - more honey than lavender but it was still delicious! And not overpoweringly sweet. The chocolate chip cookies are delicious too! Would definitely return.

We found this cute little cafe open late by accident! Storms rolled in out of nowhere and we needed to take cover. My brother in law was sad that they ran out of lemonade but they were able to make an iced black tea with raspberry instead. I, of course, had to get my vanilla latte and I'm so happy that they had oatmilk! Thank you to the establishments that continue to offer dairy and nut free options! Honestly, I didn't need a coffee, we needed shelter from the thunderstorm and needed to repay them somehow lol

Second review for this bakery already! Their savory and sweet pastries never disappoint me. There's also a new coffee shop that opened next to them, so it is perfect on the weekends! I always get one sweet and one savory pastry. My boyfriend and I shared the blueberry lemon galette, and it was so tasty! I didn't know what to expect with the asparagus, potato and cream cheese danish, and it was very delicious as well. My always go-to bakery when I visit Norfolk :)
