We took the historical tour with Gray Line, and our driver Valerie was a total vibe! A little wild (which I loved--my husband maybe not so much), full of knowledge, and you could feel how much she loved sharing it. And let me tell you -- Valerie drove like a boss! Tight turns, narrow streets, no problem. She handled that bus like it was nothing. No way would I drive my own car down here! If you get Valerie, you're in for a treat. She makes history come alive and keeps you smiling the whole way. Who's the special tip... if you need to talk on the bus while she's sharing whisper! Hahahaha

The driver was nice but for $37 it was boring..there is so much history and he would get stuck on too much info about for example..the sororities of the college of Charleston..he blew by rainbow row..then he parked in front of a mansion with a golden stucco wall and went into this long story!! Waste of money

We took a City Bus Tour in Charleston. Valerie was our tour guide and she was so AWESOME!!! So informative, funny and super sweet! We had the best time!

Today I took the historic Charleston city tour and Magnolia Plantation combo. The Magnolia Plantation itself was very pretty and interesting. Grey Line made us leave before the final tour of the plantation was completed. As far as the listed 1.5 hour tour of Charleston, it never happened. We were back to the bus depot an hour earlier than listed on the brochure description. The driver/ tour guide was terrible. You could hardly understand him. The bus returning us to Charleston was horrible. It was such a rough ride I thought I was going to throw my back out. I've never taken a Grey Line tour before so I can't say if this experience is unique to Charleston or representative of all Grey Line tours in the U.S. What a rip off Grey Line. I would never buy a tour from you again.

Took a bus tour with Alan. He was excellent, knowledgeable, funny. Be sure and do this rather than only the free shuttle. The shuttle is great but no monolog. Also, enjoyed the King St MARKET-all local and lots of hand-made.

We used Gray Line for a bus tour of Charleston and Fort Sumter. We met at the visitors center. It would be helpful if they had signs or something to identify if they were with the company and what tour they were leading. Several tours were leaving at the same time. Our guide was excellent. He was so informative and fun to listen to. We learned so much. It was helpful dropping us off at Ft. Sumter and then bringing us back to the visitors center.

Bus was very comfortable but would have preferred an open air trolley at this time of the year. Driver/commentator spoke too fast and voice was not easily understood. She had a very cryptic sense of humor, but friendly. She seemed a bit short with a person asking logistics directions

Rode on a bus to take a tour of an absolutely stunning seaside antebellum city. Houses to the seawall to the business it was worth the time I sat on a bus. If only the bus driver took Venmo or at least I had cash, she was a funny bus driver. Her experience as a former party bus driver did her well.

Very disappointed in our tour guide. Unfortunately, I can't remember her name. She liked to hear herself talk, and outright yelled at someone who tried to talk to his partner. The information we had seen said that it was a city tour with many historical sites listed. Unfortunately, what we got was an architectural tour. We basically drove up and down the streets looking and pointing out houses and styles, with mentions of historical sites that we may want to go back and visit to learn about. I should add that she actually spent a lot of time talking to horses along the way and talking about others drivers on the narrow roads. I was particularly interested in at least driving by the Citadel since I have a nephew teaching there, but it wasn't even mentioned. Our entire group learned a lot about the housing, but that is not why we came on this tour.

Bonnie was our driver and she was amazing, not only navigating the tight streets but she has an encyclopedic knowledge of Charleston. The small bus was the perfect size and seemed to be clean. Would definitely do it again!
