This is a great Hilton property. The location is convenient to historic Charleston. The property is older but well maintained. What makes it great is the people here who go out of their way to make your stay memorable. The staff takes great pride in caring for their guests and their customer service is top notch. The rooms are nice and the grounds are clean and well maintained.

I was supposed to stay at this Hampton last night, but I checked right out before even stepping into the room. The lobby looked nice, but I had concerns, so I asked the front desk if they had ever had issues with bugs. The concierge responded, "Oh no, we don't do that," which seemed like an odd way to answer. When I got to my assigned room, a roach crawled out from under the door before I even opened it. Once I stepped inside, there was also a noticeable bad smell. That was enough for me--I went straight back to the front desk to ask for a refund. The concierge didn't question it, didn't ask to see the video I took, and processed the refund immediately. That made me feel like this wasn't the first time they'd had complaints. If you care about cleanliness and pest control, I'd recommend staying somewhere else.

We have been staying here a month for medical care at MUSC. The staff have very out of their way to assure if we needed help they provided it. They went so far as to unpack my car and park it for me and later called my room to assure I was ok medically. We have had excellent service. They have breakfast in the morning and help us carry it to our room. The desk staff are very helpful and kind.

I've never been this disappointed with a Hampton Inn EVER. We were traveling with my in-laws (88 and 90 years old). And we went to check in at 5pm EST only to be told our rooms were not ready. My husband explained he had his elderly parents that were ready to relax in their room. The staff was able to work it out and accommodate them. We were then told our room would be ready in about 10 minutes and they would call us. Well, 10 minutes turned into 90 miles minutes. The room we got (219) was not clean. Luckily I'm a person that travels with Lysol and cleaner; so I went to cleaning the room &bathroom. The bathroom has MOLD!!! Yes MOLD!!!! I do NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO NO ONE!!

We recently stayed here for 3 nights during Thanksgiving weekend. For the technology geek I am , I so appreciate Hilton making contact less check in and check on soo hassle free. We didn't even need to go to the front desk for anything. Everything was digital right from key access to check out. Hotel location is great very accessible to the highway and restaurants. Our room was clean and sanitized well. The only downside was the breakfast well it wasn't great. I have had better breakfast at other Hiltons, - for that reason. There were few awful guests few rooms across us who kept yelling in the hallway middle of the night , 2nights in a row. Like omg! The hotel staff very professionally got them under control. Appreciate the customer service. Overal very safe and secured hotel with great service

Stayed here for a night as we were passing through Charleston. Beds were comfortable, air conditioning effective and quiet, staff was the epitome of Southern Hospitality. The breakfast was a typical hotel breakfast, but my cinnamon raisin bagel was fresh and tasty--and I appreciated that they offered cream cheese to spread on it. Good location. All in all, it's on my list for future stops!

Very nice Hampton Inn close to many great BBQ restaurants. We stayed here while visiting the beach and several restaurants in the area. Clean rooms and friendly staff.

After calling the attendant to notify them we would be checking in late; the attendant said they only had one room available. We checked in at 9pm to a double room. Traveling with me I had my husband and toddler. They said they could switch us to a king room around 4pm the next day. Upon entrance into the room it smelled like mildew. As we started to settle and I noticed that it was not cleaned properly. The chair was heavily stained the table had stains on it, the bathroom had hair from the previous occupation. I spent a significant amount of time Lysoling and wiping down the room. Upon further investigation I realized there were a series of black dotted stains all over the ceiling. I soon realized the spots were mold spots all along the ceiling. Perhaps it was a flood in the room above me. Whatever the reason, that was most likely the cause of the smell. Knowing that the room had been reserved months in advance by a travel agent and was traveling with a 2 year old I am extremely disappointed they would offer us that room. The next day they moved us into a king suite that was better. They charged me the difference even though the reason I switched rooms was because we were staying in a room infested with mold on the ceiling! After this experience I will never stay in a Hampton Inn again! I am only giving them 2 stars because the outside and communal space was nice.

Stopped here on a road trip because we were too tired to keep driving. There was apparently only one room at 4am when we got there. The woman working the desk was very friendly and helpful. The nightly rate for a Thursday was $129+ tax. It was too late for me to find something cheaper so I booked it. The room is very dated and the carpet needs to be replaced. The bed felt old and super bouncy. The worst part was the black mold spots in the shower - gross. I haven't been having luck with Hilton properties lately. They've been overpriced for the condition of the rooms.
