We purchased tickets at the Welcome Center and then went outside to catch the bus in the covered station. This is a non walking tour. The tour covers the Charleston historic district and lasts about an hour and a half. As we entered the 14 seat bus, we were welcomed by Shawn, a Navy Vet. There was a ramp for people with disabilities. Yes, seating as well for people with disabilities as well. The closer you sit towards the back, the bigger the bumps hit. Shawn was full of information! The bus also was climate controlled. Thank you, Shawn! Great way to see the city without walking! Adventure Sightseeing, you earned your 5-star review!

The views were excellent, and the sound system worked great, which is the most important part of any guided experience. While our guide didn't cover every historical detail--and how could she with so much history involved?--she opened the door for questions all the time. I did catch a couple of minor historical flaws, but that's just par for the course with such a vast amount of material. I would definitely go back at this price point. I highly recommend sitting on the driver's side, by the way.

The highlight of all of my vacation travel is the history lesson I get from each location. My husband and I always look for some unique and insightful tour group to join or site to visit. On our first trip to Charleston we had only a very limited time to explore so we did a very generic city tour which gave us an overview of the area. This time we obviously wanted something more specific. We found Mr. Miller's company on Yelp and decided to book the 2.5 hour Charleston Black History, Gullah Geechee and Porgy & Bess, Sea Island Tour. We found it to be very thorough and informative. Mr. Miller also made it quite interactive. He is very personable and so very knowledgeable about the area. Highly recommend!

1.5 hours of the worst performance of The Year. When we didn't want to sign up the guy became very angry and rude. We left and left our winning prize. Do waste your time.

We chose the 2.5 hour Charleston black history, Gullah geechie,porgy & bess, and sea Island tour. This tour also included a stop at the Angel Oak on Johns Island. The bus was clean and comfortable. Our guide Al Miller was friendly, patient, and extremely knowledgeable about Charleston history, and Charleston black history in particular. I cannot recommend this tour enough! If you're a local or a visitor, you will learn things you never knew.

200% recommended if I could - I am not sure why this tour isn't sold out all of the time. Incredible comfort, incredible insight and information, incredible singing voice too if you are lucky to hear the owner sing! Highly, highly, highly recommend and would repeat this tour again!

Fantastic tour in Charleston! After someone suggesting that we look into historical tours, we noticed that several companies were telling the history from only the white/confederate perspectives. Mr. Al has deep roots in the Charleston area, and provided an indepth history of the area that provided the more accurate account of how enslaved people built the city and the historical events that occurred. Mr. Al is not only a wealth of knowledge, he is welcoming, kind, and has a great voice! Get ready for a great tour and solid entertainment.

Yesterday, by chance, our family of 5 took a tour with Mr. Al. We couldn't have been more pleased with our experience. He is extremely knowledgeable of the Gullah/Geechee culture, Charleston landmarks, African American History and beyond. He kept the group engaged with stories and interesting facts along the way.
