Our second visit in as many years. On our initial visit in 2023 our stay was delightful which is why we came again. The Elliott Inn is nestled in a great location that is central to shopping and dining. It's a quaint little building with a courtyard that offers a nice little wine and cheese spread each evening. The rooms are average in size and they are basic but tasteful. This is an older building and this recent visit we experienced a strong rendering of stale musty air. The hot water took forever to climb the old pipes to the 3rd floor. There is an elevator for getting to the two floors above. In this occasion, unfortunately, our room overlooked Queen Street which was under construction ALL NIGHT AND EVERY NIGHT during our two night stay. Why the Inn Keeper didn't relocate us or at least check on us baffles me now. The Inn didn't seem too busy with guest's. The construction generators did offer some white noise however until the jackhammers fired up. Here's a positive, they do have bikes you can use which came in very handy. Recommendation: hotel invest in air purification and dehumidification for all rooms. All of our clothing is soiled with odor. I'll never stay there again but all in all it is a quaint spot.

Nov 1, 2025. This was the worst experience ever, discusting, the room had unbearable mold smell, we could not stay in it without open door. I felt nauseous in it. It was supposed to be a romantic anniversary stay in DT Charleston. We got a room on the bottom floor and when asked for a better room the staff sarcasticly pointed out to us twice (at check-in) that we got the cheapest room. ( basically you get what you pay for) False advertising- room was beat up, closest to the street, both room and bathroom were not the ones in the photo. It wasn't the cheapest room either, for $360/night on last minute sale from way over $400. Our anniversary was ruined because of not being able to enjoy the room in that strong mold smell.

The location couldn't be better, right of the middle of things. Quaint inn with a nice courtyard in the middle. There is coffee set up there in the morning, and wine and cheese at 5--both included in the rates. The rooms are on the small side, but certainly adequate. Husk Restaurant is next door, while open there will be some noise--but with the fan on, we didn't notice it. The biggest problem in my opinion is the shower, its big and offers two shower heads, but operation of it is tricky and the water temp fluctuated--probably needs some maintenance.

First off I booked our room over the phone ten months prior to our stay and was charged for a first floor room. Second we were given a third floor room that overlook roof and get the smoke from the neighbors smoker. They make it sound like having a courtyard room is extra but they are all courtyard rooms. They are where you can walk everywhere if you are a foodie or are there to shop. They don't serve breakfast. But the place is cute and clean, the wine and cheese at 5-6 pm is nice but I feel they are over priced. If you are here for the history stay over at Mount Pleasant.

Unsanitary hotel with unfriendly staff. There were cockroaches crawling in the room. Cockroaches are unsanitary because they carry bacteria from traveling in dirty environments like sewers and garbage. I let the woman managing the front desk know. Surprisingly, she didn't seem to understand this was an issue, and she lacked empathy for the guests. I don't recommend staying here. The location is great. However, I agree with the other reviews that say this place isn't quite as advertised. It doesn't seem like a 3 star hotel in terms of the room quality or service. Sadly, it's a charming building, but it's dirty and the management is defensive. You won't be comfortable here. You'll have a better experience somewhere else.

What a wonderful boutique hotel in the heart of Charleston! We Loved our stay. Fresh, modern, smartly appointed rooms rightly blended with immersive Southern charm; those plantation shutters and hardwood floors, woo! Love that bathroom!! It's just a beautiful property overall and a really cool place to stay. Superlative hospitality with easy check in, check out, of course. There's a nice coffee station up in the mornings. And a really nice courtyard beckoning some of your down time, especially in the evenings by the fire. Literally, this place is sandwiched between some of the area's best bars and restaurants. King Street shopping starts around the corner and everything else's pretty much just a short walk away. Ideally situated.

Nice location. Poor General Management. We complained every day to no avail. We also wrote the GM at the location and Corporate HQ. Apparently they do not care about how clients experienced their visits. Very sad.

I was very disappointed in the room, courtyard everything. The noise from a restaurant next door was outrageous. The walls are super thin, you could hear people. We were on the first floor and our entrance was dirty. I was really disappointed.

No Frills hotel! But close to everything. The room we stayed in needed some love, some things were rusted and the bed was ok. The price was steep for a dungeon room but the location was perfect! We found this place by chance as all the other places we wanted to stay at were all booked. We would definitely stay again if we are in a pinch for a room.
