first the positive - it's very cheap, it's close to SC campus, it's got a very cool and unique decor, and rooms are very spacious. it had the wow factor when i walked in-leather couches, glass tables and chrome lamps, well lit, fully modern streaming tvs, all chrome kitchen appliances, a huge bathroom and a spiral staircase to a huge loft (off limits, oddly). the photos suggest this place is gorgeous on the inside-and in my view it is! but if you want a HOTEL, with a restaurant, fitness center, pool or any common area at all or a phone that gets you to the desk phone in the lobby-this is NOT suitable. upon check in, no maps of the area provided, local attractions, not even nearby pizza/food options are provided. check in consisted of a screening with the owner/manager who gave me verbal instructions on how to find the building and the room i had purchased, and how to access the key to get in once i got there. so truly you really can't call this a hotel. this is what we call "glamping." the room was a surprisingly complex 1/2 mile drive from the office through a modest neighborhood-no joke i saw porto-potties in residents yards as i drove up approaching from my unit's front door. finally, it was noisy with people milling around outside my unit at 1130 pm on a tuesday night. you hear the trains at night unless you turn on he air conditioning -and even the thermostat was not working-owner come to change the batteries at least and got it running. i survived the night and slept until the sun came through from above where the curtains were affixed at 630AM. great coffee maker and shower and bed was fine. it's an experience that at least didn't cause me any non-economic harm but next time i'm sticking to a hyatt or an actual hotel and i'll read the reviews a little more carefully.

DO NOT BOOK HERE. We booked here because the description SPECIFICALLY SAID SELF CHECK IN. We are going to the game and planned on walking- a 40 minute walk. We even contacted them earlier to ensure we could park there PRIOR to heading over to the game and before checking in. They said that was no problem. When we arrived and the check in instructions were to go to an office between 4-10 to provide MORE photo ID (we already had to send one AND a photograph) and get "instructions" I called and explained we can't do this because we are going to the game and we booked this room SPECIFICALLY for the self check in. The owner refused to accommodate us and said the instructions for that unit are very important. THEN DONT LIST SELF CHECK IN ON YOUR LISTING. Worst experience EVER with an Airbnb and a complete waste of time and money.

Very whacky place. More like a motel as opposed to a hotel. All rooms are at ground level. It's a series of separate buildings scattered throughout a neighborhood near an airport. The rooms are intentionally decorated in a very funky way. Not a standard hotel design. Even the main office is hard to find because it doesn't have any obvious signage. But the beds are comfortable, the AC works quietly, tV works, well stocked kitchen, and there is plenty of parking. I would not recommended this for families. These rooms are good for couples.

Con artist The owner advertises rooms at a good rate but when you attempt to book, they are all sold out (even though noone is staying there) He then offers you a "very special" room reserved only for "certain guests" for twice as much. He does not give you the correct address and if you go after dark, you have to wander around looking for it. That is If you're not frightened by all the drug and crack houses in the neighborhood, If he promises you a refund because you were never given the correct address, he won't...... All in, this guy is not a good host, is not interested in you once you give him your money and is running a SCAM. Skip it and stay at the Hilton, much safer .... and cheaper.

We stay at these lofts a lot when we come into town. They are super funky. The area is by the municipal airport and a warehouse area. So it's a commercial area next to a older neighborhood that is starting to be redone. It's super close to Devine Street and to the USC campus area. I think you could walk but we do not ever walk. There are a lot of places to eat around you in those areas.

Best airbnb in Columbia, SC for the price mark of $200 or less! I loved staying here, and it had everything I needed! Joab is an exceptional host, and you can see how passionate he is about his work! Thanks Joab, will be back anytime I'm in SC!

I stayed there the other day. The owner is amazing and takes excellent care of the property. It was super clean, the appliances were great, complete with great cookware. I slept great and plan to stay there again when I drive through. Great fine.

I was very disappointed in the "Hangar Loft Home" we stayed in which is one of the properties that is a part of this "hotel". It was not clean. When we arrived there were stains on the sheets and pillowcases, and there were yellow/brown stains on the mattress cover as well. The floors were not clean, there was dust on nearly every surface, and the bathroom walls and mirror had gross toothpaste spray all over it from past guests. The ceiling in the hallway was peeling and there is also no deadbolt lock on the door which you should be aware of if you book. Given that it did not appear that the host cleaned at all, we did not feel comfortable staying there or removing all of our belongings so the host could spend a lengthy time deep-cleaning the entire home. I would have understood if there was only one unclean part of the home, but it appeared that no effort was put into cleaning at all. These rentals do not live up to a hotel standard. The day after we arrived (we arrived around 9:30pm and had no time to find a new place to sleep that night so we roughed it out) we found a room at the nearby Courtyard Marriott for the remainder of the stay! We highly recommend you stay at a real hotel instead of this booking! Very disappointed and would not recommend booking a stay at this home.

STAY AWAY!!!!! FIRST OFF HE BROKE THE LAW! Please reference the FREE HOUSING ACT OF 1968. I arrived with my family and once seeing I had kids he refused to rent us the unit we paid for in the agreement. The Fair Housing Act of 1968 made it illegal for landlords to discriminate against prospective tenants with children under the age of 18. Familial status is a protected class according to that law, along with national origin, race, religion, disability, sex or handicap. From the application process through terminating a lease, the Fair Housing Act outlaws any overt discrimination by landlords toward tenants with children. There are limited exceptions to the law. One instance might happen when a family has so many children that occupancy would exceed the municipal fire code regulations for residents per room. Another exception is if the landlord has been granted permission for a senior residential complex specifically geared toward citizens aged 55. Upon arrival to the loft I was shocked it was in the hood. The whole stay I felt really unsafe. Everyday we left we packed all our valuables and took them with because we didn't trust the neighborhood or the owner. I'd be surprised if he doesn't have illegal cameras watching your every move "creep" The overall cleanliness was lacking as the couch in the main area looked like something a porn was filmed. All the pillows and furniture where highly stained and nasty. Found cockroach in both bedrooms and a huge wasp nest near the front door way. Last but not least the loft smelled like a toilet. The owner prided himself on his design which turned out to be all IKEA furniture which no respectable designer would use and brag about. AGAIN STAY AWAY!!!!
