I've been living at Aspyre for about five months now in a one bedroom. Although pricey, I find that I get what I pay for in terms of location -- right downtown with easy access to both of my jobs and school. The apartment is just what I need in an apartment. I haven't had any major maintenance issues. The AC stopped one day, but maintenance promptly fixed it and were very friendly. I haven't had any more issues. Also, I really like all of the staff. Everyone is abundantly helpful and I enjoy seeing the maintenance guys every morning because they always greet me and wish me a good day! Office staff is also extremely helpful. I kept having to nag them about parking passes when my car was in the shop and they went above and beyond to assist me. The apartment itself is good. Appliances are up to date. There are washers/dryers/stove/refrigerators/microwaves/dishwasher/and garbage disposal. I really like the large windows. The amenities around the complex are great. I especially like the business center, the clubhouse, both pools, and the car wash station. I am a bit frustrated with the grills. I have been trying to light the grills for a while. The light grill switches are gone and it's not easy to tell if the gas is on to light without the switches so I've opted not to use them. Recently the elevator has been down a good bit. It's not a huge problem, but because i get home late, I often have to park on the 5th floor and I live on the first so it doesn't get frustrating on late nights after work. I'd recommend Aspyre. I really enjoy living there. My only complaints are mainly complaints about residents and not the complex itself (crazy driving in the parking garage, huge vehicles parking in compact spaces preventing anyone else from parking, not cleaning up after pets).

Terrible experience. Easily the dirtiest building I have ever seen in Columbia, SC. Gym equipment is broken and non-functional. The staff is incredibly unprofessional. Yana is one of their managers and she harassed me and my roommate of using their parking illegally (without paying), when I had already been paying since I moved in. Instead of checking their records to verify if I'm paying for the parking, they assumed that I am not paying for parking, and proceeded with their accusations when we were trying to get the visitor pass for our friends. They accused us saying that I was trying to obtain the pass for myself, when I am already paying for the parking. It has been weeks since I put in a complaint for the dirty carpet, and when I raised my complaints about the carpet, they told me "There is no need to discuss this" It is the worst building I have ever lived in. Incredibly dirty, and has really rude, dismissive and pathetic staff.

The filthiest apartment building I have ever been inside of. There are places that haven't been clean since last year when I was here. Only 1 manager here who actually helps and cares about this place. I could name a list of things wrong with this place. If I could give zero stars I would.

My grandson lived in an apartment with a broken HVAC unit for 2 months. Thankfully it was at the end of his lease. The one room units that was provided only semi cooled the room that it was placed in. The people in the office are tasked to manage and defend an apartment complex that is gaining a poor rating. When did we reach the point in America where only money matters and not people?

This place is a ripoff. They charge outrageously on the electric when my son and his roommate arent even living there. When I called the manager was less than helpful and quick to get off the phone with me. Very displeased with how they handle utilities, saying they have no control, yet no one can get in touch with someone from utilities as well.

This review is specifically to enlighten parents of the true living conditions, property maintenance, and overall service provided by Saga Columbia Apartments. As a parent, I do not recommend you trust the care of your students to this leasing company. This leasing company leases to students and adults in the community. As a parent with a student branching out and living on her own, this has been a horrible, traumatic experience for my daughter. I would first like to comment on the professionalism of the property managers: Yana McCollum, Vanesha Winningham and Dylan J. As property managers, these ladies are tasked with managing the care, maintenance, and day-to-day operations of the property. They are also responsible for resolving tenant concerns and complaints, along with supervising and coordinating building maintenance and work orders. These ladies have failed miserably at these tasks. Here are a few examples: there were several units with broken AC units, during the month of May, which is a month that is consistently hot in South Carolina. The one-bedroom apartment that I lease for my daughter was one of those units. My daughter was forced to live in that apartment, which had internal room temperatures of 83 degrees and above for two months. My daughter, who has never leased or lived on her own, verbally informed the property manager that her AC was out in April and was verbally informed by the property manager, Vanesha Winningham, that there was an issue with her AC unit, and it would be fixed. After three weeks of no correspondence, written or verbal, we decided to open a work order to have it addressed on April 04, 2025. Please note: Yes, we do acknowledge that a work order should have been placed at the initial notification of the AC outage. However please keep in mind that this is my daughter's first time living on her own and she was under the impression that if she notified a property manager that the property manager would work on resolving the tenant's complaints or at the very least instruct her to open a work order, if needed. After twenty-eight days of no working AC, along with no written or verbal communication regarding the expected completion date of the work order, I took off from my job to speak with the leasing property managers directly. Upon arrival, I personally observed these ladies sitting in the leasing office with the office phone ringers turned off, intentionally avoiding tenant complaints. I observed this as I stood outside the office and made several phone calls to the office. Once inside, my first interaction was with Dylan J. When I questioned Dylan J. about the work order, Request 621427, I was met with hostility and no genuine concern about the health risk of having my daughter being exposed to living conditions of over 83 degrees for an extended period. I questioned Dylan J. regarding several other work orders that were closed without proper inspection or completion: Request 6039716 opened on August 21, 2024, refrigerator not functioning properly and the ice maker not working. Maintenance closed this request on September 19, 2024, without properly inspecting the refrigerator. As of May 1, 2025, the refrigerator was still not cooling properly, which resulted in my daughter living two months without AC or a means to obtain ice or properly obtain cold water to stay hydrated. After a contentious discussion between myself and the property managers, the refrigerator was quickly replaced on May 05, 2025. I would like to highlight that instead of inquiring about the safety of my daughter, a tenant that was exposed to life-threatening living conditions, Dylan J.'s response was to argue about the timing the work order was placed. When questioned as to why a portable unit was not offered to my daughter to ensure her living environment was safe, the response was that portable units are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. My next question was to inquire if there were any portable units available from April 04 to May 01 and I asked if the property managers had made any attempt to inform their tenants of this policy or how their units could be requested. Once again, my questions were met with defensiveness. At this point, I requested to speak with a manager. My next unpleasant, unprofessional experience was with Yana McCollum. After hearing my conversation with Dylan J, Yana approached me quite defensively. She introduced herself as the property manager and I informed her that I had several issues concerning the safety of my daughter's living environment that needed to be discussed. When I arrived at my daughter's apartment on May 01, 2025, her apartment door was unlocked. Maintenance had been working in her apartment and neglected to secure her living space once they left. Ms. McCollum responded with a sigh and eye roll. Dylan J. then chimed in to explain how maintenance has a master key and they neglected to lock the door.

Saga/Younion is the absolute worst place to live. The fire alarms go off at random times for hours almost every week when there is no fire. That is so dangerous because what happens when there is really a fire. When the fire department comes, they tell us we need to call our property manager because they can not turn it off. The garage gates always stay open. That means anyone can come in to the apartment and go up to any of the floors they want. ANYONE. That is very unsafe. No cameras in the parking garage either. I got a $200 package stolen last year, told me I needed to file a police report to look at the cameras, filed it within 10 minutes, they never looked at the cameras. In our apartment there's something that's always breaking. The structure of this place is horrendous. They have a towing company that comes called ABSOLUTE TOWING. They are rude, disrespectful, and they have messed up so many cars from how they chain the car up and pull it out of the parking garage. They painted the walls, changed the floor, changed the name but can't fix the most important issue which is safety here. I get it's probably the most cost effective for college students but it is definitely not worth it. It does come fully furnished w/ a washer and dryer but you can find better apartments with better quality materials.

PLEASE DO NOT LEASE at this complex. I have already left a review once for this place being a shithole. Not only is it a shithole, IT IS SO UNSAFE. This previous weekend, someone broke into our room and completely destroyed everything, and even stole most valuables. All 3 of our TVs were broken, and lots of electronics missing. Police were involved but the leasing office took days to review the footage, and would not even let us see the footage ourselves. I have had my car broken into MORE THAN ONCE, and the parking garages have no cameras. Gates stay open 24/7 and the entrance doors to the building are always unlocked. The apartments are tiny and WAY OVERPRICED. like I said, this place sucks and I DO NOT RECOMMEND LIVING HERE.

If you are contemplating moving your child into these apartments please reconsider. They are unsafe.. especially for females. From one parent to another PLEASE LOOK ELSEWHERE!! After 8 months of unsafe living conditions we moved our child out but still were forced to continue to honor the lease even though they did not stay true to their obligations. I wish I had believed the past horrible reviews but I instead gave them a chance and believed that new management/employees had improved the situation. By doing that, I put my daughter's life in danger. The hallways are littered with not only trash but also dog urine and feces and what looks like illegal substances. The parking garage is extremely unsafe. Again.. parents please don't put your kids here!

My daughter's water didn't work for 1.5 days and she was forced to shower with her Brita. Then her boyfriend's car got towed for parking on the 2nd floor, and when she went to the leasing office and they said they sent out an email to residents about parking, but that email got sent to her spam folder. There is no sign that mentions that the guest must park on the sixth floor. The management here is awful and I hope everyone wanting to live here thinks twice.
