Everything we had was sooooop good! Drinks were good, food even better! Server was a little forgetful, but order was fixed right away. Def be back again.

If zero stars were an option... I wish I looked and saw the 3 star average before dining. We dined tonight and honestly start to finish was awful. The hostess told us to seat ourselves outside and they would assist us. We had to flag down a server after 10 minutes of no help and trying to get eye contact like hint we need help. She was tall blonde and annoyed and asked if we say the hostess and we said yes she told us and the party next to us to seat ourselves. Another 10 minutes later a server comes with menus. She took our order promptly and we asked for adult drinks ordered food and waters. Came back with adult drinks and we asked again for water and she was too busy chatting at outside bar and took another 10 minutes to bring them. This was all bad but not the worst thing that happened. Outside is an additional bar. We dined outside we expected responsible pet owners. A woman had a dog off leash she had loudly obnoxiously trying to bark and earn food. It was disruptive to the whole patio. I also believe having an animal off leash in public is not allowed. This dog then comes up to our table smelling our food physically under my legs at our table again off leash. My son was bitten by a dog so this was majorly triggering to my entire family to have an unknown animal off leash invading our space. We addressed it and the woman put the dog and leash and had an attitude saying it wouldn't bite. We noticed this woman was actually the outdoor bartender. I don't believe it is in accordance with health code to have someone handling drinks also handling an animal. She walked back through with the dog after taking it into the restaurant and I asked it be contained as the handler / bartender was obviously under the influence and incapable of taking care or control of the animal. The bartender then proceeded to talk about my family physically pointing and making eyes in our direction making the entire patio uncomfortable. We had to flag another server for our check and another one brought it to us as ours was repeatedly no where to be found. Apparently the owner watched the entire dog incident happen and did not comment or address it with us per our server. We will not be back and would advise against dining here.

I love Southern Roots in West Ashley, so following a good revisit of the series "Army Wives", my wife and I decided to head over to Park Circle for a early dinner and drive over to the Naval Base to see some of the homes from the movie. We (my wife and I) visited Southern Roots in the Park Circle are, and we were not impressed. Service was good, whomever brought the "other part'" of our appetizer was apologetic at the same time she made exceptions (aka excuses). We sat outside on the patio, but that was antithetical. The patio was unkept. Cutting to the chase...food was acceptable and service was average. Considering my previous experience at another location, I would think twice about expectations.

The place has a decent design and the waitress was nice and friendly. She was able to apologize and let us know that things were slow. The food itself wasn't actually that good. I ordered the fried pork chops with 2 sides. The pork chop breading was falling off and was kind of wet with the grease but it was edible. The mashed potatoes were cold but the taste itself was just weird in general, not sure if warming it up would have changed it. The gravy was sweet but the mashed potato had a strong maybe garlic flavor that did not balance out with the gravy. The baked beans had an off taste but was still edible. The sweet tea was great! Overall, maybe it was just a really bad day like the waitress told us before we ordered. I hope so because everything besides the food was good. Unfortunately, I came for the food so most of the stars lost was from that.

I think the best experience was the waitress. The food took about an hour to come out and when it did it was burnt, COLD, and overly seasoned. The salt and pepper shakers were disgusting. The atmosphere was nice but it would have been better if the food was decent. The owner was apparently cooking which is scary enough because of the way the food came out. I am so disappointed because I had been wanting to eat the here for so long. The waitress was amazing though.

Overall: Nothing to write home about, but if you want to watch a game, this is a great spot. The good: Tons of TVs and seating, which has been great for our football watch parties. The menu is well-sized with plenty of options, and the prices are all reasonable. The outdoor space is nice too (with more TVs). The not-so-good: We've been a handful of times, and every time the service has been sub-par or bad. Slow and unattentive, there's been multiple times over multiple visits where we have to go up to someone to get an order or refill. The food is nothing to write home about, I hate to say it's bad, but I don't get excited to eat there. Food/drink: 6/10 Atmosphere: 7.5/10 Service: 6/10

Give Southern Roots Smokehouse a try, especially if you go when they're offering live music. Our server was personable and helpful, and we soon had a nacho app and a round of drinks. I had a half rack of ribs with a brisket add-on, with sides of beans and succotash. The brisket was perfect - tender, moist, and full of flavor. The ribs weren't my style; I like a deeper smoke flavor, so I won't order them again. The beans were good as was my succotash. The solo guitar player really made the night, and we had a blast. SRS is accessible, and although most of their seating is at a bar or high tops, there were a couple of regular tables. Ours worked well with my wheelchair.

Thoroughly enjoyed my experienced at the Smokehouse. Was in town for work and looking for dinner. Headed over to Park Circle, which is my go-to in North Charleston. Chose the Smokehouse over four pizza joints just based on the smells coming from the establishment. I wasn't wrong. I was warmly greeted by the staff when I entered and was then allowed to pick my seat. The staff came over to provide menus and water. They are super attentive. I ordered the Cesar salad with smoked chicken. It was very good. Meat was really tender and well seasoned. I also ordered a side of brisket. This was also very good. If you are visiting North Charleston, check out the Smokehouse.

The food was good. The server was super sweet. There was a football game going while we were there and it was hard to hear due to the TV. There were only 7 customers there, including us. So, I don't know why the TV was so loud.

We recently went to Southern roots smokehouse and had a very relaxing enjoyable experience. We were greeted when we first came in, seated, and they took our order in a timely manner. The food came out quickly. It was very good and came out quickly. The place was relaxing and had a lot of room, plus an outdoor area.
