Starting positive, the staff were very friendly, and had great energy. The food was awful. Bordering on inedible. This could have been looked past with relative ease, if the show had been good. The show was not good. The "show" was completely unbelievable, there was not an attempt at suspension of disbelief. I believe they may have been going for comedy, which they had some success at. I laughed. Once in a while. But the issue is, it's called the dinner detective, and the "detective" part consisted of a series of "we found this NOTE and this DOCUMENT on the body inexplicably, so now scan your QR code to see it" and that QR code was the only place to get any clues. The theatre portion provided hardly any clues. You basically could have done this whole experience in fifteen minutes without looking away from the website on your phone if they just gave you all the "clues" (documents) off the rip. Also it was freezing in there. Overall, I would not recommend. It pains me to say this because I do like the actors/staff. They seemed genuine and full of energy. It just wasn't a good "detective" experience. Cool idea, lame execution.

We planned a fun evening to celebrate my dad's 60th birthday and decided to do "something different." We thought a dinner and show would be fun. Two stars is being generous. Let's start with the dinner. Definitely not the best food. When you arrive they had some pita chips and hummus and carrots and ranch dressing. Best part of the meal. They had water and tea on the tables and butter (but fun fact never brought any bread and said they "ran out before dinner"). Next came a salad, hard to mess up. You had two options, chicken or fish with rice pilaf and asparagus. Both the fish and chicken we very, very dry. We were supposed to get two dessert options and instead they just brought out a questionable cheesecake and said that was the only option. Thank God there was a bar that you could big drinks at so we could drink while we commiserated over a pitiful yet expensive dinner. Now for the show... yikes. Just yikes. There were some people who really enjoyed themselves (I think) but everyone at our table (including people not in our party and from out of town) thought it was laughable. The acting was meh. I think they tried to make it fun but it was really all over the place and no one had any idea what was going on most of the time. Again, thank God there was a bar. I don't think we will be suggesting anyone to try this in the future unless ALOT changes.

The show was OK, but honestly I expected more. That could be because when I made the reservations (back in November) for February 13th's show, the show was located in the Hilton Garden Inn near the Savannah airport. Since we were driving up from Jekyll Island, Ga (for a surprise for my significant other's 60th birthday), we made reservations to stay in the same hotel the dinner theater was in. When we went to check in I asked them about the dinner theater & they said it was no longer located in that hotel & they didn't know where it was. When I called the Dinner Detective I couldn't get a real person (you never can), so I left them a voicemail & sent them an email. Some one did call me back & when I told them what was going on they said the dinner theater was located in the Hilton Garden in by the Savannah airport. I explained that was where I was standing & the theater was not there. Their own employees don't even know where they are located. Now it's 3:00 and the show starts at 6:00 and I'm on a wild goose chase to try to figure out where they are located. We FINALLY found them, barely in time for the doors to open. When I explained to the girls who check you in what happened & asked them if they could compensate us for all the trouble we been to, they gave me 4 shotglasses. Thanks a lot. Again the show was OK, but for that price, I expected a LOT more. I can't believe they didn't notify me when they moved since I had reservations from November.

Elena Hood Today at 9:29 PM Truth be told, my family sat next to the criminal or whatever, unbeknownst to us. which of course is totally ok, like that's cool. However, this "actor" stressed that his friends had left him alone and that he had an "anxiety problem" and that he had "paid for his friends but they refused to show up." So my family and I were devastated for him. we told him "you are our friend" and did everything we could to comfort this guy that was almost I tears. He went on and on about being bullied in school and how he was always dropped and ditched by his friends. The entire night myself and my family did everything we could to make him feel wanted and offered him drinks, etc etc. We put our night on hold, relinquished our fun and relaxation thinking we were helping this individual. The man ended up being the "criminal". the problem is that we were worried about his well being the entire night, that is not acting. telling a family that you have all these psychological problems and how everyone left you is not "acting." My family and I were devastated and when I went to him at the end of the show and said that he used mental illness, loneliness, and bullying as an attempt to sway guests from believing he may be the culprit, he replied "well, I kind do have anxiety." unreal. We are still in shock.
