Place is cool. Good music. Needs more bartenders. Not only was there no sense of urgency but the cups are the size of my pinky. I could have been blacked out and then sobered up by the time I got to the front of the line. Won't be returning

This is the true counter-culture of Charleston and I love it. I love the gutted out warehouse art studio look right off the railroad tracks. I love the creative chaos all around I love the chalkboard of a menu I love the acoustics for live performances I love the hidden charm of the venue I love the experimentation it takes with performance art This is a club that will scare you and thirst the passion for creativity and inspiration. If you have not experienced this venue, please make time and catch a show or just hang out. It is a gift for the Lowcountry.

It's a cool place. The bartender was super nice. The patrons were very local clicky. They didn't like new people and made it very obvious. Also a 5 piece band was playing and 1 of the 8 people in the bar came over and told us we were too loud. Wtf? It was a very strange experience. Loved the art though.

For those who remember King Dusko on King Street and truelly miss it, they have found a new Mekka. From the same owner from King Dusko, he presents "Purple Buffalo". An eclectic music venue/club/art space (at some point). All the art you see around, is designed by the owner. Every night, something else is going. Although it's a bit of the beaten pad for most of us. It's definitely worth the travel past the strip club area on Meeting St. Yes, it's that far. At the time that I'm writing this, there's not yet a sign up but basically coming of King Street Ext, take a left and it's the first building on the right. From DJ's to bands performing, to even live art shows, Purple Buffalo has everything to offer. Whether you want to take a break from Bluegrass scene at Royal American or want to escape the crazynyess of King Street, you will not be sorry for coming here. Especially when you see the prices: ALL DAY $1 PBR! $3 Yuenglings and mixed drinks are $6. You can't go wrong there. Soon they will expand and will offer work space for artists as well as they have a full warehouse at their disposal.

This place, although really cool looking, is not a techno, house music, underground deep house scene. This is strictly hardcore EDM, Skrillex style. If you're looking for that, go for it, but if you're looking for a party that would regularly be listed on Resident Advisor, I suggest you skip the trip.

I love this bar! They're very COVID conscious yet I didn't feel like it hindered the vibe at all. I LOVE their Wednesday night comedy mics. Ridiculously hilarious. Also hella cheap beers. Plus it's a great place to meet people. Good vibes all around.

First time, first reviewer! They just opened in November. Location is a little sketch right now but it's getting there. It's definitely hipster and a total hole in the wall but who doesn't love those places! The owner has some major artistic talent too and has designed the bar around his artwork. They have a DJ most nights but live local bands on the weekends. Help this new, cool bar and dance club get on the map, People!

It's a dive bar, so don't expect anything upscale (which i assume you wouldent be given its location). But its a fun, lively dive bar that has live music, and i got to see some great shows here. The sound quality was really bad, REALLY bad, but just have a few drinks from the friendly bartenders and it will sound good!

Had the opportunity to check this joint out recently. Dirty hipster joint. I usually don't mind places like this but there were things that just disturbed me. There's one bathroom. If it gets packed, forget going in the head. Oh, it's gender neutral as well. MEANING if you're a dude taking a piss in a standup urinal a girl can walk right past you, slap your tush, and go into a stall. I s--t you not. I peed outside because I wasn't drunk enough to handle that kind of invasion. The young guy behind the bar was cool. Laid back kind of cat. Owner was drinking with people. Couches, where patrons relax, looked like they were salvaged from the side of the road after a tropical storm. No tap beer. All cans. $6 for a Westbrook? Standard bend over and take it. The other thing that got me was the cigarette ashtrays completely filled in the outdoor back eating area. What?! Nobody gives a f--k about cleaning an area where the food truck is parked? Cheese and rice, have some pride. Awful. Look, if you wanna pound a few $6 beers and cut a rug with some babes (if they show), I'm sure this could be the place. But I'm not taking the uber time to roll up to N. Charleston to pee outside and sit next to nasty ashtrays while supporting a local food truck. Hip or not, have some respect for your clientele.
