This review is for Sunday brunch. I've been to Mere Bulles for lunch or dinner many times and quite enjoyed it and have always been curious about their Sunday brunch, which is somewhat well-known in the Brentwood area: $40 per person all your can eat for a luxe-style continental brunch. I went with my friends for a noon reservation made a few weeks in advance. Mere Bulles is located in a historic-looking old home in Brentwood and it's a beautiful indoor and outdoor space, even though the decor feels a bit dated to me. We were greeted promptly on arrival, and the host asked if we would want to take the stairs or elevator because we were being seating on the second floor: first annoyance of the meal. I honestly had no idea they even had seating on the second floor because while I've been when they were incredibly busy, I've never been sat there. The upstairs feels like an afterthought to the main dining area downstairs, a bit cramped and almost like a storage area, especially considering that if you use the elevator you have to walk through their storage area. The host walks us through drinks and then lets us know the buffet is downstairs, so we will be traipsing up/down the spiral staircase with our plates or taking the elevator and crossing through a service entryway when we want to replenish from the buffet. Felt deeply slighted, especially as we had reserved a table several weeks in advance and they didn't seem any more crowded than usual. My friend researched ahead of time and knew coffee is not included with the brunch so we had coffee ahead of time. For an all-you-can-eat $40 brunch though, it feels like coffee and basic juices should be included with the meal. We went downstairs where they had cleared one of the smaller rooms for the breakfast buffet. It's an astounding amount of food: grits, bacon, two different types of sausage, biscuits and gravy, hashbrown casserole, yogurt/fruit/granola bar, French toast casserole, fried chicken, fried catfish, roasted fingerling potatoes, brisket hash, mashed potatoes, broccoli salad, sautéed mixed veggies, sweet chili brussel sprouts, bagels with cream cheese and smoked salmon, their signature she-crab soup, eggs Benedict, Danish, cookies, cake pops, muffins, cheesecake, crème brûlée, peach cobbler, blackberry cobbler, and a chocolate fountain with strawberries and marshmallows. Also a host of food items available made to order: eggs & omelettes, pancakes, waffles, crepes, and prime rib. Whew. It was a lot, and they very much prioritize quantity over quality. We ended up trying pretty much everything across our group. My friend's standout was the prime rib (I don't eat beef) and they thought that made it well worth the visit alone. I loved the sweet chili brussel sprouts, broccoli salad, hashbrown casserole, chocolate fountain, and made-to-order omelette. In general we thought some items were just okay: the sausage gravy & biscuits, the fried chicken, the crepes. The desserts overall were incredibly dry or over baked. I've had their cheesecake on the normal menu before and this felt like something totally different, just not good at all. The French toast casserole was a mix of too sweet and really dry or burnt in places. The crepe was pre-made, but briefly put in a pan to heat up. I was disappointed in how few dipping options there were for the chocolate fountain when everything else about this buffet screamed over abundance. I typically love the she-crab soup but my friend got it first and it was incredibly congealed and gloppy despite being served from the pot and immediately eaten. I tried it and it did not remind me of any of my past visits - it had been sitting out for far too long - and just was gross, to be honest. We covered it with a napkin so it wouldn't ruin our appetite for other dishes. Overall none of us got drinks and we left overly full, but my bill was $52 with a basic tip for just me and felt like the juice wasn't worth the squeeze here. They have a lot of items, but the execution feels much worse than even a hotel buffet. I get why the brunch is the price it is (it takes a lot of staff manning the buffet stations to pull off) - and perhaps it feels more worth it if you get the prime rib, but overall execution was severely lacking and didn't represent sit-down meals I've had here whatsoever. Sitting upstairs and carrying plates of buffet food back and forth between levels was honestly just kind of ridiculous when you pay this price and really dampens the whole experience. We are glad we've been so now we can say we've tried the brunch here but I will not be back... there is tastier made-to-order brunch all over Brentwood where my coffee actually comes included in the meal and is much more reasonably priced.

Mere Bulles Restaurant in Brentwood, TN was a gem of a restaurant. We had been across the street at a headspa and asked the spa technicians for a referral for dinner. Hands down, both suggested Mere Bulles. They had a nice selection on their menu. And it was literally a 1 minute drive from parking lot to parking lot. We didn't have a wait, and we requested to be seated outside. (Would not suggest this during the summer. Flies everywhere out in nature.) Our server, Chris, came and took our drink orders less than a couple of minutes from when we were seated. Brought our drinks out quickly and made sure our glasses were never empty. He told us the specials for the day and everything sounded so good. But since I wasn't all that hungry, I got the brussels sprouts and the calamari. Both were delicious and the brussels sprouts being tossed with sweet thai chili sauce made it so that my friend could have some, since she has a vinegar allergy.

We hosted our rehersal dinner here and it was such a seamless and relaxing experience and everyone had such great feedback on the food and service! Our prefized menu was: ceasar salad, salmon or artichokes chicken both with green beans and mashed potatoes, and chocolate cake or cheesecake. The ceasar salad was delicious with the croutons crushed up so you got a little in every bite and a creamy fresh ceasar dressing. I got the salmon and it was seasoned and cooked so well. My husband got the chicken and it was fresh and lemony. The desserts were both delicious! For it being a private event the staff was very knowledgeable about the food and did a great job ensuring all of our guests were taken care of the entire dinner. Their event staff was very easy to work with to set everything up as well.

Our go-to spot--reliable, welcoming, and always delicious. We love sitting in the bar area or out on the patio when the weather's nice. The service is consistently excellent, and here's a hot tip: every bottle of wine is 50% off (always, but especially clutch during happy hour). They also make a fantastic Old Fashioned. Don't sleep on the ahi tuna tartare--it's a standout. Portions are generous across the board, so come hungry. And if you're debating the butter cake for dessert... just do it. Full of regret, but YOLO. Also the patio is dog friendly and they are soooo kind to your pup!!

This place is largely viewed as old luxury. While it is very popular with the older crowd, it's due to the amazing food and thoughtful service. We sat outside in the covered area where it's not too loud. Highly recommend.

Fantastic! The food was great, the service was excellent, the the environment was relaxing and welcoming. We visited for the first time in vacation while celebrating our engagement, and our server was attentive and excellent. Would recommend to anyone!

We had a lunch reservation with a client who was in town. Quick fast seating during a busy lunch rush. The salmon and corn cakes were excellent. I definitely want to go back and try this infamous bisque! Outdoor seating was nice and the decor inside was beautiful. Fast service. Business minded server :)

I dined with a friend at Mere Bulles this past Friday evening and we had a fantastic time! The service was wonderful, and the food was delicious & fresh. In order from start to finish, we had: Lavender Lemon Drop Martini, Gilded Rose (non-alcoholic version), She-Crab Bisque, Tuscan Tomato & Brie Bruschetta (not pictured), Crab-Stuffed Shrimp (seasonal menu), Braised Short Rib, Lemon Tiramisu (seasonal menu) & St. Antonin Cotes-du-Rhone, France (red wine). If you like crab, you absolutely cannot skip the she-crab bisque. It's what they're known for and it is incredible. This is the PERFECT location for a celebration or just an excuse to have an elegant dinner out. The menu is diverse and I can't wait to come back to try more delicious dishes.
