A Luxurious Stay with a Small Drawback – 4 Stars

As Knoxville locals, we booked a stay at The Tennessean Hotel because of its convenient location near The Mill & Mine, and overall, we had a fantastic experience. The hotel exudes elegance, and the complimentary car service was a huge perk, making it easy to explore the area without worrying about parking.

Our room was swanky and well-appointed, with gorgeous local artwork, a Nespresso machine for the perfect morning coffee, and a special touch—locally made chocolates on the bed that made us feel extra pampered. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the space felt luxurious yet cozy.

The staff was exceptional, going above and beyond to ensure our stay was smooth and enjoyable. We also loved the coffee shop on the bottom level, which served delicious, locally sourced brews that made for the perfect morning pick-me-up.

The only downside was that we noticed some mold in the shower, which was disappointing given the otherwise pristine and upscale feel of the hotel. It didn’t ruin our stay, but it’s something that should be addressed for future guests especially for a $300+ price tag.

Despite this small issue, we would still recommend The Tennessean for its luxury, convenience, and warm hospitality. With a little more attention to detail in the bathrooms, this would be an easy 5-star experience!

This hotel was a great stay a few years back.  Needs a refresh.   Mold in shower.    Valet staff terrific and best part of the stay.    Courteous helpful and speedy.    Management lacked and kitchen and room  service struggles.   My breakfast didn’t show up.  15 min later I call no order.    Reordered and around 15 min later a half correct order arrived.    Abbey the manager seemed to hear me but the problems are beyond her.    I asked to speak w Elizabeth the general manager and she was busy or in a meeting.      The gentleman at the front desk was not helpful.     I’d strongly suggest another hotel w better service and attention to detail.   This is one step up from A holiday inn express.   Not a luxury hotel.

Just able to get up out of bed and i love the decor, From the moment I stepped into this luxurious 5-star hotel, I felt something rare—something that instantly made me feel at home. I came here for business, but the experience has made me rethink everything. This place isn’t just a hotel; it’s a glimpse into the life I aspire to live.

The ambiance is pure peace and elegance, the kind of tranquility that whispers success. It’s as if every detail was designed to remind me of what’s possible—of what life can be when you’re surrounded by comfort, class, and prosperity. The atmosphere exudes a sense of wealth and opportunity, with the area itself reflecting growth, affluence, and an elevated way of living.

The rooms? Beyond perfection. Spacious, refined, and thoughtfully designed, they offer a level of relaxation that makes it hard to leave. Waking up here feels like stepping into a dream home—one where everything is effortlessly perfect, and every sunrise brings new possibilities.

Possibly the worst experience I had from staying in a hotel in Knoxville. I booked this hotel on my wedding night just to be told that they don't have basic toiletries and there's nothing they can do about it. How can a "top hotel in Knoxville" not even have basic amenities that you would expect any hotel, or even a motel would have. They said I'm just unlucky and I was there at a bad time when they ran out and they're fighting their supplier about it - how hard is it to think of getting some emergency supplies until you get your regular shipment? Talk about inconsistency. They also have a hidden amenity fee that doesn't properly get disclosed in their confirmation email total cost. No indication of it being an additional cost, which makes me think that they want their guests to think that they're paying less than what the hotel will actually bill after their stay. I tried talking to the manager and was promised a phone call back, but of course they don't call. Overall, everything was a mess in terms of service. The only good thing I can think of is Brendon the front desk employee being very professional. Their bathroom layout was a bit odd as well. Why have such a big separate bathroom with just a toilet while the standing shower is as tiny as it can possibly be? Anyways, definitely will not be staying here again.

First off I wasn’t aware that I booked the accessibility room. The room style makes complete sense given that fact, so ignore my comment about that above. Also, it wasn’t just toothbrushes that the hotel didn’t have, but also toothpaste, makeup remover, and any other basic toiletries that you would assume a hotel at that level would have to accommodate their guests - please don’t try to downplay it.

The best location for ball tournaments and the vallet/shuttle service is very convenient. The front desk staff were the most gracious.
Our bathroom was very spacious and nice. This has been our favorite place to stay for travel ball in the southeast.
