Bra restaurang i Tyska stan. Brunchen var fantastisk. Ta kanelbullen och dela den. Allt vi hade vid bordet var mycket bra. Champagne temat är en stor touch. Definitivt måste sätta detta din lista när nära Nashville.

Försökte fira min födelsedag på Geist, men vilken katastrof. Vi dök upp i tid för vår bokning och fick veta av den blonda värdinnan att det skulle ta några minuter. Okej, ingen stor sak. Men efter 5-10 minuter checkar jag tillbaka, och nu är det plötsligt fyra fester framför oss, och det kommer att ta ytterligare 15 minuter. Uh, det är inte så reservationer fungerar, men visst, vad som helst. 

Ytterligare 15 minuter går och skaran av människor med osittande ”reservationer” bara växer. Vi står alla pinsamt mitt i restaurangen medan servrarna duckar för oss som en hinderbana. Jag kollar igen, och den här gången värdinnan är direkt oförskämd och snippy. Slutligen, nästan 45 minuter efter vår bokningstid, sitter vi — utanför. 

Det var under 20 grader den natten, och vi begärde specifikt inomhus sittplatser. Deras iskalla utomhusområde har till och med filtar på stolarna eftersom de vet att det är eländigt. Vi åkte utan att beställa. Efter att ha läst recensioner är det tydligt att detta inte är en engångsföreteelse - off. Skip Geist; massor av bra ställen i Nashville vet faktiskt hur man behandlar kunder.

Vi bokade tre veckor i förväg efter att ha sett restaurangen på TikTok, som visade upp sin festliga atmosfär. Tidsluckorna är svåra att få tag på, så jag rekommenderar att boka tidigt. Tänk på $ 15 per person nej - visa avgift, så se till att avboka eller omboka om det behövs. 

När vi anlände, julen - tema dekorationer var fantastisk, och jag njöt verkligen av feststämningen. Jag blev dock lite besviken på de begränsade förrättalternativen, särskilt som någon som inte äter skaldjur eller anka. Jag hade planerat att beställa fläskkotletten och hoppades kunna ersätta sidan från kraggrönsaker, men servern informerade mig om att de inte kunde rymma sidoändringar, vilket var en besvikelse. 

Maten var bra, men ärligt talat kändes det lite för dyrt. Vi provade husets bröd, vilket var fantastiskt — definitivt en höjdpunkt med honungssmöret. En annan nackdel var att servern upprepade gånger frågade om jag ville ha en drink, trots att jag inte dricker alkohol, så jag fick tacka nej flera gånger. Detta blev repetitivt och irriterande. 

Sammantaget hade vi en bra tid och atmosfären var härlig, men kostnaden var brant — $ 157 plus tips för två personer. Om vi återvänder skulle vi förmodligen välja brunch, eftersom det erbjuder mer variation och är mer prisvärt.

Utsökt måltid. Utmärkt service. Ett av våra favoritställen under vår tjejhelg. Skulle rekommendera. Nära det centrala området.

Cool vibe, inredda för semestern, packade hus, satt nära en öppen spis. Det fanns 5 av oss, servicen var mycket bra, maten var utsökt och större än genomsnittet portioner. Deras automatiska gratifikationer kan ifrågasättas. Först slår de dig med vad de säger är 3% för Kitchen Love - vet inte vad det är och jag har aldrig sett detta någon annanstans. OCH trots att det står 3 % på kvittot blir det 3 . 2 %, inte 3 . 0 %. Dessutom sätter de sedan en automatisk 20% gratifikation på notan - inklusive 20% av skatterna, har inte heller sett det förut. De berättade aldrig om dessa extra avgifter före middagen och, ännu värre, nämnde aldrig det när de presenterade räkningen. Lyckligtvis fångade vi den innan vi lade till ytterligare 20 procent. KONTROLLERA DIN RÄKNING MYCKET NOGA!

Vi var värd för vår 64 personers bröllopsmottagning på uteplatsen, och det var allt vi önskade — vänner, fantastisk mat och spritdrycker. Lindsey var fenomenal att arbeta med från planering till dagar efter händelsen.

This spot strikes the perfect balance between elegant and casual. I was here for dinner with colleagues, so I didn't snap photos of everything, but we started with a charcuterie board and bread. The bread was made with pineapple juice like an upgraded version of store bought Hawaiian rolls and it was absolutely fantastic.

Pictured is the sea bass, which was light, fluffy, and juicy, served over a bed of vegetables. A great choice if you're a fish lover! My colleagues ordered the lamb chops and beef tenderloin, and both raved about how delicious they were.

Our waiter was outstanding he was friendly, knowledgeable, and full of great recommendations. He even shared some history about the building's transformation, which made the experience even more special.

Bonus points: I couldn't help but notice every table around us was enjoying their meals, and honestly, everything I saw coming out of the kitchen looked amazing.

If you're ever in Germantown, Nashville, this is a must try in my opinion.

This place was amazing! Visiting from out of town and super happy we came here for our girls weekend brunch. 

Delicious food with very aesthetic decor. Loved  everything about it here from the greenery and adorable hot air balloons to the southern hospitality (friendly service). 

This place has so much charm and I highly recommend it.

This was our first time to Geist. We really wanted to sit in the garden, but it was unfortunately unavailable since it is FCFS. However, the inside was still cute with the brick and the lighting. Our server was nice enough, but nothing amazing. He seemed a little annoyed we wanted a mocktail, but no biggie 

The smoked salmon benedict and the fried chicken sandwich was really good as well as the mocktail version of the Barracude even if 80% of the drink was ice lol. The steak and eggs was underwhelming due it to being underseasoned and the chimichurri sauce tasted a little too acidic.

This was a great spot for an early birthday dinner! Our server was so nice and great with recommendations for the table! If you like cocktails, the pink pony 75 was so delicious. I ordered the linguine and it was perfect! My husband got the risotto with scallops. We also got the whipped ricotta for the table, perfect way to start the night. This restaurant has a great intimate vibe inside and a fun casual vibe outside in their champagne garden. There is parking behind the building as well. I would love to come back for brunch, omg.

We had such a delightful experience at Geist for brunch! I love the historic home feel with antique decorations and artwork. It is both bright and happy while also feeling cozy and moody! The service was amazing with our server offering fantastic suggestions including the cinnamon roll which was our favorite! We also tried the pancake and fried chicken sandwich which we also loved! Will definitely be back and looking forward to trying dinner

The brunch here is really amazing! 10 out of 10 would recommend!! The whipped ricotta on the dinner menu is also fantastic. I love that last year they also turned the entire restaurant into a winter wonderland. They had the most stunning decorations.

The Scallops OMG! These scallops made me think and question every scallop I've ever eaten and I was NOT expecting that kind of pressure in Nashville! Ha! Cool industrial and historic vibe. This place is housed in a circa 1900 blacksmith shop! And nothing says I'm going to flex my cheese board like the ghost of a German blacksmith. You must get the cheese board and the scallops are insane!

This was the most charming restaurant! The service was incredible! We asked to change tables and they happily accommodated, our champagne came out with sparklers, and the food was devine. Do yourself a favor and order the baked pancake if you're there for brunch. I immediately searched for a recipe online, I've never had anything like it. It was not too sweet, the berries and fresh whip added the perfect sweet compliment. I am going to try to recreate the pancake because I can't go on living without eating it again. The table got the shrimp and grits- amazing, smoked salmon benedict- incredible, and the whipped ricotta- also a must order. It was an epic brunch, absolutely every aspect was perfection.

Verdict: Geist is always a solid choice. Service is friendly, the food has always been delicious, and drinks are good. But the decor really sets it apart. Check it out around Christmas!

Wife and I stopped by today for some drinks after having dinner elsewhere. Turned out there was live music (she was pretty damn good) and plenty of seating. Not sure why it never seems packed here because we always enjoy our experience!

We got some truffle fries to go with our drinks and just enjoyed the vibe.

(On a separate note, their brunch is great and they always seem to have reservations. This is one of our two brunch places we take people from out of town. The decorations are always on point!)

I will never step foot in Geist again thanks to the blonde hostess on August 2, 2025. She had 2 people send me THREATENING messages. I wonder what the GM or OWNER or investors would think about this? A hostess so emotionally unstable that she's plotting REVENGE on customers. It was my birthday & I made reservations and asked for the outdoor garden. When I arrived, we were seated inside, and I very politely asked if we could wait for the garden. There were seven open tables. She said the patio is only for large groups only. I did not ask for free food. I simply wanted to sit on the outside patio. She Talks to a manager. We get seated outside. My server was fantastic. I left a 100% tip. Unbeknownst to me... she finds my social media & sends me THREATS the next day?! THREATS. How are customers supposed to feel SAFE? What a world we live in. I'm sure they have cameras. Go watch the security cameras pointed at the hostess stand at 7:10 pm. I was smiling & simply asked for a table outside ... I was SUGAR SWEET. No "scene" was made. Why does this younger generation feel empowered to belittle, cuss out and threaten a customer??? How is this ok? The restaurant needs to educate their staff. Contacting PATRONS outside of the restaurant is NOT okay.
