We went here because so many online guides said we had to see it. We love seeing cool historical places and architecture, but this place was like a cranky grandmother's house that you don't want to visit. It's dark and unnecessarily creepy with the fake mannequins in the rooms and fake animals. Really weird vibes. They said no photos but we didn't want to take any regardless. Family who lived there in the past seemed to have a lot of problems and it felt really sad. The wine was also the worst wine we've ever tasted.

Belle Meade historic site and winery was an informative and engaging experience. I recommend a visit to learn about the negative part of the history of the US. The tour guides are professional and well educated. The winery portion was a nice addition to the tour, though the main part is clearly the site tour. A tour like this helps you to understand the conditions and life of a dark time where absolutely terrible things were more standard in the country.

Wow--Belle Meade has truly set the bar for wine tastings! We came for the wine and bourbon tasting. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted at every entrance, making us feel genuinely welcomed. The tasting menu was spectacular, and our sommelier, Maddie (Madeline), was both incredibly personable and impressively knowledgeable. She elevated the entire experience. It was well worth the money and easily one of the best tasting experiences I've had. The food menu: lobster ceviche, crab cake blt, lamb crostini and steak flatbread. Highly recommend!

We did the mansion tour, unfortunately, we didn't get to do the rest of the property because we had reservations for the Wine & Food pairing, so hopefully whenever we return to Nashville, we will have to see the rest of this beautiful estate! After our tour, there was a complimentary wine tasting, and while I'm not particularly a wine connoisseur, I did enjoy some of the ones we tasted and it resulted into us getting a couple (4 bottles) of wine. We got 2 bottles of the Blackberry, 1 bottle of Red Muscadine, and 1 bottle of Carriage House White which all of these choices are more on the lighter/sweeter side since I've noticed that is what my palette enjoys. During the Wine & Food pairing, we got to try the same 3 bottles, along with I believe 3 other bottles which we didn't care much for. These were more robust, and just not our favorites. The gentleman who hosted us was very knowledgeable on the how well the food and specific wines pair, and we did learn a few neat tricks from him on how to spot a good wine. Each little small bite paired beautifully with every bottle, and we definitely enjoyed this experience!

Bryce was an awesome tour guide. Even stayed after (willing missing 1/5 of our wine tasting) to ask questions. Very informative and spoke in a quick pace, but sure to cover the pertinent information of the once plantation. Wish I did the Journey to Jubilee tour to learn even more history Even got an amazing show by Joanna Yaeger. Very personable and entertaining. Live music rotates

Had a wonderful experience today with Becky as our Bourbon expert and our guest at the table. She shared the history of the plantation, the wine and the bourbon all the while we are sipping and tasting the delicacies the chef prepared. If you are a wine or bourbon person and love history l highly recommend.

Belle Meade Historic Site & Winery was once, the "Queen of the Tennessee Plantations" before becoming a world-renowned thoroughbred horse farm after the Civil War. Today Belle Meade offers about a dozen different ticket options to choose from, including historic tours, family tours & winery experiences with bourbon & food pairing too. There are several dining options as well - Meat & Three Restaurant, Fox Run Cafe & Coop N Scoop serving ice cream. Although I didn't try the food, it was nice to have them on site. Belle Meade also hosts weddings & events. The property has a wine garden, a wine tasting room and a games court with corn hole, putt-putt, bocce ball, horseshoes & croquet. In addition, the carriage collection is in the Stable Hall & the Visitor's Center includes a gift shop. The day I went we chose the Historic Tour, specifically the Mansion Tour, (adult ticket price $28). Our guide led us thru each room of the home, unfortunately many of the rooms were roped off & we could only see the room at the doorway. Our guide spoke briefly in each room. I felt he could have provided us with so much more content & history. The tour fell short of my expectations & was short in length too, only 30 minutes. Note, there is no photography allowed inside the mansion. After the tour we were given a "brief complimentary" wine sampling from the winery. The tasting seemed rushed & consisted of four different samples (sips) of wine. Overall, the wine tasted pretty good. We did enjoy the beautiful grounds & the walking trails.

This was my 1st time returning since 2016. They've added some additional food options, and I was excited to try them. Unfortunately, the ice cream shop was closed. And the cafe was "out of everything", except for 1 food item. Since they only seemed to have 1 working toaster oven, it was going to take over 30 min to make each order of flatbread. And everyone was ordering the flatbread..... ugh. This was pointless, so we opted not to eat. Going inside to the buffet/appitizers was also not appealing. Most of the trays were empty, or near empty. The only options were some fried wings, or other fried foods. It all looked like it had been sitting there too long. My friend and I paid for the wine tastings, and the sommelier was well informed. He was willing to spend time explaining everything and making comparisons between wines. But once your time slot was up, he pretty much let you know and pushed you along. My friend was making a purchase, and he was rushing her along, because another tour was coming in. Over all, the grounds are beautiful. They have eliminated the previous Military and Veterans discounts on tours and merch., which was also a disappointment.

Wow wow wow! Stunning! The property itself is great, the wine is sensational. The workers are so polite and lovely! We had a friends bridal shower here in a private room with charcuterie, salads, and wine! We had a tasting that followed and sat outside while a band played and a woman sang beautifully. What a great time we had! Dancing, singing, wine tasting, eating, and we took the most gorgeous photos here. Such a perfect way to celebrate and have a taste of the best wine. I need to buy more bottles because I'm in California! I have been to many wineries and this is the by far the best one!! Southern charm!
