We, in spite of the accident at the entrance to the Nashville airport that caused a 4 hour delay to get out with our rental car, had a fantastic experience!!! It was certainly not their fault and in spite of it all, they worked very hard through it all to help us. Budget rental (next door to them at the airport) sent their folks away for 3 hours but not Hertz....they plugged through and with a smile. Way to go Hertz at BNA!

GET A RECEIPT IF YOU RENT FROM THIS LOCATION BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE PARKING GARAGE AFTER YOUR RETURN! I'm a Gold member, and the process was a little confusing at first at this location as you just see your name on the board and your status and you just go to the section under your ranking (ie Gold, President's Circle) and just pick a car...the email received w/the instructions was a bit vague, but I figured it out. The process leaving was quick and easy & I enjoyed not having to interact w/anyone other than the person that check you & your car out of the garage. Was on my way in less than 10mins. I rented a Nissan Versa for 4 days, and the car was great (exceptional gas mileage for the power & how I ran the AC!). The nightmare began w/the return. You drive through this scanner thing and a person directs you where to park. Easy peasy. There's are signs everywhere saying "Note Dropoff Time, Mileage, and gas" and to "Leave keys in vehicle. Receipt will be emailed". I didn't trust that cuz how was the return time documented? So, I go to the Hertz booth in the garage; there's an old guy behind the counter w/another customer, so I wait. He says "are you just returning?" "Yes, but I want a printed receipt to document my return time" "Oh, the scanner you drive through documents your return time, so you're receipt will be emailed" "Yeah, sure, but I'd like a printed receipt" "It'll be emailed" "I get that part, but I'd like a printed receipt" "OK, well after I get this lady taken care of then". Naturally, they are taking forever and as the mins tick by I am like "I gotta get going for my flt; so just to confirm, the scanner thing documents your return time and I'll be emailed my receipt?" "Yep!" Right...so therein lies the scam. I get my receipt and lo and behold what should have been $255.10 for 4days (7/3-7/7 picking up and returning at 7:30am; I returned the car at 7:24am) all of a sudden was $318.88. I'm like WTF is the extra $63.78 for!? I study the receipt and finally see it; I was charged for FIVE days instead of the FOUR of my res!!? I'm like WTH!? So I immediately jump into a chat w/Hertz and they are like "well we can't see the actual final charges until the contract is closed out" I'm like "you guys emailed me a freaking receipt, so how is it not closed out" "well it isn't so we can't start a dispute until it is" absolutely horrible customer service w/zero understanding; literally less than 10hrs after the chat the charge for the $318.88 posts to my card. HELL TO THE NO! I chat back in and get the same run around and literally have to argue w/the chat person that 7/3-7/7 is FOUR NOT FIVE DAYS! They finally get it after I refuse to take their excuses of "it's the airport fees" "No it is not, those were included in my original reservation and contract quote of the $255.10"; the agent is like "oh sorry for the confusion; looks like you were charged an extra day. We'll dispute it and you should see the refund within 7-10business days". What confusion!? I rented a car for 4 days and returned it at the time agreed upon in the contract yet out of nowhere I was charged an extra day w/no explanation and had to BATTLE to get the refund for a charge that should have never happened!?! This was a nightmare and a horrible experience and felt very scammy/fraudulent like they do this and have gotten away w/it enough that I was the first person to notice!? Either way, steer clear of this location. They wasted 2 days of my time, energy for absolutely NO REASON when they took it upon themselves to charge me $63.78 extra and then had me fight to get it refunded (still waiting to see if it actually happens), but I have filed a complaint w/the BBB and disputed the charge. Shame on Hertz and this location. If this is how they treat Gold members, I can't imagine what they're doing to people who aren't part of their loyalty program!

I am so sad to leave a negative review. My husband and I showed up early to try to retrieve the car. Upon arrival the guy asked if we were local to the metro area. We are not local to Tn metro area but we live here in Tn. The guy insisted we did and said we could not pay with debit card for incidental fee. Also on that note, the sign there says "current due today 0" which is misleading verbiage. We don't normally use credit cards so we were told we can't be helped. We are currently in the efforts to get a refund but have been tossed back and forth. They are so difficult to get ahold of and at times on the call, they would drop us. We ended up having to use our original vehicle on our trip and wasted money and time. I will never book with hertz again.

Give this Company a zero. Thirty minutes and the only rep has been laughing and carrying on with the SAME CUSTOMER. Folks, they need an express lane! The rep has a very poor attitude and no sense of urgency. Now 12 customers waiting for well over 30 minutes. App doesn't work in BNA. NEVER going to use this company again.

Unbelievable! And not in a good way. Firstly, would it hurt any of their employees to smile?? Next, 23 minutes! One car ahead of me at the check out stand took 23 minutes to process. Meanwhile the other line processed 21 cars in that time frame. Ironically, the person who had to deal with the car that took 23 minutes was the nicest employee of all the employees. They gave me one of the smallest cars on the lot, and I'm a big guy... yeah yeah... it's what my company allows, bla bla bla. A Corolla is in the same class as the car I got, but I can fit in one better than the other. I hated every minute of my experience with this company! And I don't use that word a lot. I only had to use them because I had a last minute business trip and my regular vendor didn't have availability. Hopefully I will not get stuck having to use this company again.

Another location with crooks adding fuel to the bill when we returned the car with a full tank of gas. Choose another vendor or you'll regret it. As PC I expected more from Hertz BNA...no benefits are worth the hassle and runaround to correct their issue. Complaint to the Tennessee AG in order to stop these criminals from their continued fraud.

Would not accept a debit card payment. Had a $500 hold reservation for the vehicle but we were denied at the counter for no credit card. They refuse to refund this charge even though I wasn't the one to cancel the vehicle or received any service. Talking to customer service was extremely difficult and frustrating taking them several days and multiple employees. I am incredibly disappointed and have no answers still.

we needed a Rent-A-Car very last minute and we were able to grab one with hertz. They had a ton of cars available upstairs and a lot of different options but we really wanted to keep a low budget considering we needed a card for just five hours to get us from .A to point B. The representative who helped us was very nice and we were definitely a difficult crowd to please. She asked us all the right questions and she was able to check us out in just a matter of 20 minutes. There wasn't much of a line so things went by really quickly. You just go upstairs and grab your car and then you pull out and check out with security.

Submitted request for car on line. Landed. Went to the car rental area. Waited 15 minutes on line. Complete paperwork. Went to the garage. Picked out a car and drove off! Returned car by dropping car off in the rental car garage! And done! No hassles! Easy process! Thank You! Highly recommend

My girlfriend had a one-way Hertz reservation, which I booked for her, at the Nashville airport. Her flight was delayed so she arrived at the rental counter at 11:45 PM, 15 minutes before close. She does not currently have a credit card, only her debit card, with plenty of money to cover the deposit. Here's where it went wrong: 1. The employee at the counter said it's Hertz policy to not allow debit cards with a one way rental 2. It's also Hertz policy not to take a credit card over the phone, fair enough 3. The employee refused to speak to me on the phone, even so I could ask clarifying questions 4. Neither the main Hertz support number nor the Nashville phone number are open at this hour I've just now had book an emergency hotel room, and tomorrow will pay $400 for an Uber so she can get to her destination 180 miles away for an early morning medical appointment. I do not blame the employee for following policy. I have major issues with Hertz for 1. Having a policy that I'd have to read the fine print during booking to be ready for 2. Not having a way to speak to a human on the phone during hours that branches are open 3. Having zero contingency options. She would have put a $1000 deposit on her debit card if need be, and I could have given a credit card number over the phone. As far as the employee, I have a major issue with the apathetic response to an emergency: "Sorry, can't help you, won't talk about it on the phone to the person who booked the reservation, and we are closing. Good night" (paraphrased to illustrate the point) I am not seeking compensation from Hertz; the damage is done. I've been a National member for 10 years and this is my first Hertz booking in years. I regret doing so and will not book again.
