Coming here about once a week as a student, you get pretty familiar with the menu. The biggest plus about this place is the staff. They will take the time to learn your name, ask how you're doing, and learn your "usual" order. To me, that speaks volumes about their staff. Synopsis: Metz is a mixture of a grill/coffee shop/ on the go stop/ convenience store mix. From your quick fix of getting a brewed starbucks coffee to freshly made jambalaya to a small cheese platter... you can find almost all your studying craving/hunger needs here (including loads of caffeinated beverages). The grill serves various items like sandwiches and wraps. They also have different entrees of the day such as catfish friday (Which I hear is pretty good) or chicken pesto/ chicken BBQ. If you're looking for something healthier... they have a tiny salad bar. They also serve a mean breakfast (get their omelets and you can't go wrong). Cafe: They serve freshly brewed starbucks and have baristas to make your standard starbucks drink. Personal favorites: Quick rush -- Salad or chicken strips w/ fries (if you don't mind food under the heat lamps) Best deal -- Meharry special: 1 meat w/ 2 sides + drink (sweet tea!). It's a pretty solid deal but can be a gamble at times. The food is either a hit or miss so judge accordingly. Cost: The cost of food is pretty fair, chicken strips and fries for about $5.00. It's hard to beat that kind of pricing. Review: 4/5 stars due to the cost and staff (mainly staff). They still need to improve the consistency of the "daily food" area and the salad bar could have more options. Definitely does its job as my go to my convenience store for long study days on campus.
