My husband and I and a good friend went to the Nashville Repertory Theatre for the first time last night to see "Inherit the Wind," a classic play about the Scopes Trial in Dayton, Tennessee. The theater is small and intimate, and you have a great view of the stage from the seats. The production was wonderful, the theater intimate, and the experience delightful. I'll certainly be back at the Nashville Repertory Theatre the next time they have a play I'm interested in, which I imagine will be soon!

Turn your AC on in the Polk Theatre, pretty please? I went and saw Spank on Saturday and the musical itself was amazing, but I thought I was going to have a heat stroke sitting there. Shew! I could hear a lot of people around me discussing the same issue too. I've never had any problems with the rest of TPAC though. It's a great place to see live theatre and I've definitely got my eye on some season passes for next year. They always have such wonderful performances. I also love they do Twitter deals for discounted play tickets. My love for TPAC can't be tamed.

Wow. I can't believe I got first dibs on this place. TenRep knows how to put on a show. They have whole teams dedicated to their stage design, their costumes, their actors, and it shows. The combination is amazing. I saw a production of Romeo and Juliet a few years ago and I still cannot believe just how much I enjoyed the show. I had never been a fan of the play, but if they were to do it again I'd gladly come and see. They perform their plays at TPAC, in the Andrew Jackson Theater, which is a small and personal space to put on a show. Right now they're putting on funny guy David Sedaris' Santaland Diaries, so if you haven't been to see one of their shows before, I'd say this is your perfect opportunity. Even if you miss this show, please check out one.
