I feel so blessed to have visited Mel’s Diner towards the end of my trip while visiting from out of town—I only wish I could have gone every day of my stay! From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional. The staff did an amazing job making me feel welcomed and completely at ease.

The service was truly top-notch, and the food? Absolutely incredible—it tasted like it was made with love! Every bite was a delight, and I enjoyed every second of my time at Mel’s Diner.

I can’t wait to return on my next trip. Thank you, Mel’s Diner, for such a memorable and heartwarming experience! Money well spent!!!

This was a wonderfully quaint, nostalgic dining experience.  Our food was reasonably priced and good.  Our waitress (Erin) was attentive and friendly and even offered to take a photo for us.  We enjoyed our visit very much.  What made it more special was that we were fans of the 70's-80's TV show "Alice."  We had been looking for souvenir t-shirts for our vacation and were able to buy them there.  I will proudly wear my Mel's Diner "Kiss my grits" t-shirt!  😆

On our last morning in Pigeon Forge.  We decided to stop by Mel’s diner and have some traditional breakfast.  It had the old time diner’s atmosphere which was cool.  We were seated in the corner booth.  It was spacious but the seat had lumps and  it was comfortable.  I’d ordered the special of the day, two pancakes, two meats (sausage or bacon), and two eggs for $9.   Then I got hash browns.   My wife and daughter shared their plate as they don’t really eat breakfast but they had bacon.   I’d also ordered orange juice and our daughter had apple juice.   The food came out reasonably as the place was full capacity.   When it came out.  Let’s say, I was disappointed.  The egss were small, the pancakes were ok, and the sausage was cardboard.   It’s one of those round sausage you buy from Costco in the bag in the frozen section.   What’s with the hash browns?  Maybe this is Tennessee thing but it’s basically shredded potatoes  that are barely cooked on a plate!  Again, I didn’t expect much for breakfast but it was kind of disappointing.   I’m sure their order food for lunch and dinner would be good but just from this experience.  I wouldn’t go back.  Now, our server Erin was really friendly.  She’s the star of the place.  If you come, make sure you come early as when we left there were people lining up outside the door.

We got dinner here late for six people, I think we sat down around 8pm. We were seated at a table pretty fast but the service to take our orders was slow. Once the food came… OMG! My BLT and fries were pretty standard, my husband liked his burger okay but the strawberry milkshake is where it’s at!!! Best milkshake I’ve had. So thick and cold you need a spoon. It hit the spot. We’d come back just for that.

We had dinner there.  As the most places in the center of tourist attractions, the diner was packed, and we had to wait for about 30 minutes to get the table. However, they give you a messenger, and you can wait in the comfort of your car. The service was very good: attentive and fast.  The place is a classic diner: cool and easy. The food was good, but portions were pretty small compared to average.  It was enough for me, but it was definitely not enough for my husband.  His pork chop was really small.
