Food trucks parks are a distinctly Austin-ite art form, and this one is pretty good. I was invited here for a Yelp function and got to sample a number of delicacies on offer from the resident trucks. Of special note is the very good blueberry lemonade from Conscious Cravings, as well as a to-die-for selection of goat cheese from the Chivata Goat Cheese Truck. (Seriously, go check out their trailer and pick up one of their sandwiches, your tummy will thank you.) Pros: Outdoor and *indoor* seating - useful when it rains or bakes in Austin, which it can. Reasonable selection of food trucks, you'll find something to try. Bathroom facilities are fine and not port-a-potties. Cons: Some of the trucks hold odd hours on the weekend. Parking is at a premium, with about a dozen spots and 2 handicapped spots. You can find parking on the side streets but be careful crossing 1st Street as the traffic zooms by at light speed! All in all, this location is well worth a visit!

This has to be my most favorite food truck area to eat around ATX! The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming, day and night! The food is always yummy, and the company is always kind! It's always a plus when cute furry friends are a plus! It is also kid friendly too! I've tried every single food truck in this area and there is just too many good things to say about each and every vendor, from their cooking, and packaging to their service and friendliness!

Food trucks are a fun concept and Austin has a lot of them. Not only that, but Austin has a lot of *good* food trucks and several of them are right here at the South Austin Trailer Park & Eatery. What I like about this food truck park is it exudes Texas, from the dusty dirt and gravel lot to the rustic-looking trailers. Even the chain-linked line markers are made from worn-out truck parts such as old wheels. Driving by, you'd think you were passing just another trailer park. The park has eateries such as the popular Torchy's Tacos, Holy Cacao (fine desserts), and Conscious Cravings (wraps, salads, smoothies). Aside from the food trucks themselves, I really like this spot for a few additional reasons: 1. Free parking. 2. Plenty of seating, covered and uncovered. 3. Free water. 4. Restrooms. The covered seating area even has TVs inside. A fantastic job by the folks who put this together. They seemed to have thought of everything. If you're visiting Austin, I highly recommend checking this place out. Just a brisk walk across the river from downtown.

Coffee? No problem. TexMex? Absolutely. Parking is a little tricky- but this place is sincerely fun and delicious.

South Austin Trailer Park and Eatery is a must see for the more adventurous tourist. It's across the river and near some of the best restaurants in the city. It's a small plot of land with several top food trucks on the property including the famous Torchy's Tacos. On the property is outdoor seating and indoor seating to escape the heat and water areas everywhere to stay hydrated. It's a GREAT place to grab lunch before you explore ATX.

OK, now I have really seen all the world has to offer, and feel I can die a happy man. In no town in the world can I see a trailer park/parking garage/burger stand/taco stand working so well, but this is Austin and it is GLORIOUS!!! The South Austin Trailer Park and Eatery is a hip little spot to get your taco and burger on. If you don't know about Torchy's Tacos you haven't been paying attention and thankfully we have now been graced with another creation by the same trailer food stand king: Shuggie's Burgers. The combination of these two Goliaths of trailer park cuisine is an ingenious way to make South Austin even more South Austiny. Now, to what we had... A few of us were thinking of where to grab a bite to eat after a day of athletic feats and friendly competition at the park. We all wanted something greasy, good, and on the go; so the Trailer Park was a fitting solution to our Sunday afternoon cravings. Between the three of us, we tried The Democrat, The Brushfire, two burgers, the Ice Cream Battered Onion Rings and the French Fries. Our entire meal was created by hand, and grilled up to perfection in separate trailers and was all ready at roughly the same time. We munched, we played ping pong, we didn't want to leave. The food is fabulous, the atmosphere is one of a kind and this is a spot everyone is Austin should enjoy. Cheers, BRING YOUR OWN BEERS!

This is the perfect spot to get a break from work. There are 3 food trailers in this park: Torchy's Tacos (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED), Holy Cacao (for dessert), and Conscious Carvings (for you health conscious people). There is even a water dispenser where you can quench your thirst! I love the weird decor on the front of the "building", it's a bunch of random stuff plastered on the wall then spray painted GOLD (I'm talking Guitar Hero guitar, antique dolls, trophies, it looked like something out of a page of an I Spy book). On the inside walls is someone's description of this place. Try your luck on comprehending that! There are plenty of wood benches under a shaded area which will also protect you on rainy, windy, or sunny days. And a TV for your entertainment. And when you're done with your meal, there is a separate game room in which they have a foosball table, ping pong, and shuffleboard? A great place to hang out with your friends during lunch time. There is a decent amount of parking in this lot. Please make sure not to park in front of another person's car, it's not cool!

I met up with a group today to have Torchy's for the first time at this spot and wasn't sure what to expect, because I've heard a lot of hype. Well, Torchy's lived up to it. We got a couple of each of the 14 types (I think it was that many) of tacos and it was good all around. I had the Republican (grilled sausage, cheese and pico de gallo with poblano sauce on a corn tortilla) and the Democrat (shredded beef barbacoa with avocado, queso fresco, cilantro, onions, and a slice of lime with tomatillo sauce on a corn tortilla). I am bi-partisan when it comes to tasty tacos.

Exceeded my expectations! The name, "Trailer Park Eatery," didn't really create images of grandure... I finally took the opportunity to hit up Torchy's. I had a fried avocado taco and the green chile pork taco. Both were tasty and not too greasy. I also had the chips and queso, which I actually rank above the tacos. My fiance had the Rambler burger from Shuggie's complete with deep fried bacon. That's right, DEEP FRIED BACON. Ridiculous!! I thought the atmosphere was fun and laid back - very "Austin-y." I especially enjoyed the smores area, which I'll have to try out at some point. I enjoyed TPE overall, but the parking can get a little congested/complicated. Another plus - you can bring your dog and BYOB. We didn't do it, but we saw people that did both. I also consider this the first trailer park restaurant row in Austin since it was formed before the SoCo madness.
