I always enjoy the many different kinds of clothing, shoes, gifts , foods that are available for sale in the many booths on two floors.

This event kicks off a the holiday shopping season with vendors from near and far. Most of the places are geared towards women, home or food - not a lot of stuff for men. They are a mix of home goods, holiday items, clothing, jewelry and food. Giant Christmas tree in the center where everyone stops for a picture. Food and drinks are available if you get munchies or thirsty while you shop. This event is a big fundraiser for the Junior League of Austin so that it helps them support the community.

I felt very left out among the hoards of rich Austin women and ostentatious Christmas decor at A Christmas Affair. That appears to be the only demographic who attends this Christmas-themed bazaar at the Palmer Events Center. I was the only woman there not wearing high heels and make up, and as for men; there aren't any. A Christmas Affair appears to be an extension of the country club; I guess I should have known since it's put on by the Junior League. Many of the items being sold have a high degree of snob appeal. Everything there is expensive, unlike the Armadillo Bazaar, which has a variety of price points and which I would recommend over A Christmas Affair. As I love any kind of bazaar or craft fair, I thought I would enjoy the experience but just didn't. A free shuttle converted to look like a charming streetcar transports you from the Barton Springs Mall parking lot to the Palmer Events center. It'll run you around $12 to get into the bazaar.

It's interesting.... Half of the jewelry could be found at Sam Moon for 1/100 of the price (and probably same quality)....the clothes are a little garish for my taste...and the decorations, too. The sweets and treats were nice...especially since most of them were sampled out! I got my $15 ticket for free...but I wouldn't pay $15 to walk around here again. Only because I don't like to pay to spend more money...there were tons of people with upwards of 5 bags a piece so I know a lot of people found things they liked. I feel like in these situations it's such sensory overload that it's hard to even decide to buy anything. I do like that you can buy wine (crazy overpriced) and walk around, though. I could carry a flask in the mall and do that for free, though! ha. Basically if you want to spend way more than things are worth this is your type of event. Not really my gig.

I was surprised it cost $15 to get in... but I WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK! There is a wide variety of merchandise from children's clothing & toys, to sorority wear to cutesy cups, plates & cocktail napkins to women's clothing, handbags. & jewelry to sweet treats & snacks to home decor to holiday decor...and more! I agree with other reviewers that the items are all priced higher than most of the value. I did come home with quite a haul though, especially for those "hard to buy for" people for Christmas gifts. Monogrammed cups for my mother in law, a leopard scarf with a secret pocket for credit cards/iPhone for myself, a Southern Tide look-a-like T-shirt for my husband, jewelry for my sister in law, unique marshmallow treats for my aunt...& more that I can't remember. Again they were all a tad pricey but it was a blast! My coworker and me thought we would spend 2 hours tops and we were there and until they kicked everyone out to close for the evening. It was really fun to have a cocktail, walk around, talk and shop. Warnings - it is LOUD and CROWDED so just adjust your expectations before you go and I thought it was a blast. I will be going every year from now on, I thought it was a fun afternoon. Also I was pretty sure it costs money to get in because it goes to charity. I just looked it up and their website says...." A Christmas Affair is the largest fundraiser for The Junior League of Austin allowing us to further our mission. The $750,000 raised through the four-day shopping experience helps our 2,500 members: Feed 1,600 children suffering from food insecurity each week during the school year through our signature program, Food in Tummies - Provide approximately 35,000 coats annually to children who don't otherwise have a warm winter coat through Coats for Kids & Volunteer and provide financial support to 29+ community nonprofits." So at least your admission fee is going to a good cause per their website.

I admit I do not go every year but when I do go I am never disappointed I do not consider myself rich by any means but they have the best of the best vendors as they come from everywhere, they are just not local talent but pretty much the world over. It is pricey to get in but always have like the jewelry and no you will not find their jewelry at Sam Moon as anyone that every shopped there the stones and jewelry fell apart the first time you wore it. They have classy clothing and I know Austin people some just do not get the classy part. I have lived here my whole life and the Junior League is a top notch organization they do wonders for the community and this event is legendary this has been going on for a long time. The Junior League and what it stands for true excellence in every sense of the word. Hope to make this year but if not there is always next year. They do great things for this town and always have.

Wild. Women. Everywhere. Spending money on adorable and unnecessary items. Once a year at the Palmer Event Center. Tasting toffee. Sipping wine-a-ritas. Playing dress up in fancy fun clothing. Trying on sparkly jewelry. Hugging each other. Looking at pretty Christmas decor. Kissing cheeks. Drinking flavored coffees. Munching on sweet buns and cookies. Lapping up dips and salsas. Go. You can enjoy it without spending money.

Went to go today only to then be told the merchants closed at 7 and yet it lasted until 9. Will not give my money to them or be treated like an idiot to go somewhere and then have them lie about their events and what is there. Their website looks like a high school student did it just learning how to us HTML. Very unprofessional people who planned this event. Disgusting.... 0 stars if I could.

I love the Junior League and all they do for the community. ACA makes Christmas shopping so much easier. I love that they have a free shuttle from Barton Creek Mall to the venue so you don't have to worry about paying for parking. Also, the decorations are always beautiful.

Love this event! It's so great to help the community. The Junior League of Austin puts a lot of hard work into this and it's a great one stop shop for Christmas shopping! The events are super fun for kids, too. I love that all the money goes directly towards helping Austin. I will continue to go regularly
