Today, Valentine' Day, we flew in from San Diego, CA with reservations for a rental car from December. There was no line and our car was ready after a 5 minute check-in at the counter. Larry was awesome! Although I was 3 hrs early he made sure I had my car and got me in and out quickly. My wife and I are first time visitors to Austin, TX so my first impression is from Alamo and I think we are off to a great start! Larry even recommended few places to try that delicious and famous Texas barbecue. Price was great for my rental. I highly recommend booking with Alamo rental car if you need a quick, cheap rental car in Austin. Thanks, Ashley & Lindsey Head

edit: if you did not bother reading my review, that I have contacted yall multiple times. clearly no one cares. Tired of dealing with your terrible cs. Am i supposed to call a number i have called three times today??? With zero reaults? Your regional manager for central texas needs to call back. Yall have left me stranded. I have been dealing with this since 10am this morning and its almost 145pm. Dumb. Id give them negative stars, that would not be low enough! It all started out very good. CS agents are super nice and everything went amoothly. That is, until two days later when the Premium BMW i rented threw a do not drive code for low coolant. Car was towed very quickly and efficiently, and the to people were very nice. Then, since I was over 60 miles from where I rented my car, Alamo sent me to the closest Enterprise branch and said they would for sure have the premium car. I get to Enterprise and of course, they have zero cars available. The manager there was very nice and super sorry. Then i called alamo back and got a horrible agent who offered me 2 options-- 1. Wait 3-4 hours for another car or 2. Uber back to austin to get a new car. this is insane. The alamo agent refused to send me to a supervisor and instead just kept repeating those options. i kept asking to be escalated and it was refused. I hung up, tried a different agent. I think her name was Sienna, and she reached out to the regional manager for a call back. I asked her if i should go to my house in Temple and she said to stay put, it shouls be 30 mins to an hour. So, im standing here in the heat, not knowing if I am going to have a rental car or not, driving myself insane and wondering if i should go ro the nearby hertz this is my firat time using alamo and will be my last. This was shameful. Its been an hour, no call back and this is total garbage. All because this alamo refuses to maintain theor car correctly. Shame shame shame. This will likely end up in a chargeback. So, do not rent here the enterprise at aus is mucb better and their cars are much well maintained.i rent a lot of cars, for sometimes months at a time and thia ia my wprst experience yet. My 11 year old daughter and I were stranded in Santa Fe at the top of the ski mountain as everything was closing down. It was cold and dark and we had to wait 1.5 for the car service to arrive to take up back to where we were staying 20 minutes outside of Santa Fe. The cost of the ride was $280 and I was told by the Alamo at the Phoenix airport to submit my receipt and I would be reimbursed After calling 4 weeks in a row, 4-6 weeks after submitting receipt, I was told that the branch manager would be in touch to make things right since I had email confirmation of his commitment to reimburse me for the ride. That said, on my 5th call to customer service, I was told that they cannot reimburse me and then was hung up on. NEVER use Alamo in the case hat the car breaks down and you have to hire a ride to get somewhere safe. They will tell you one thing and then hang up on you when you try to escalate things.

Just be careful that when the largest IT meltdown in history happens you're not driving an Alamo rental! Price gouging me $2000 for returning the car to another airport 200 miles away from my original dropoff location which was the only airport I could get a flight out of. One of my traveling companions had a Budget rental and they were charged $300 which was at least more reasonable. Unbeleivable! Until yesterday I had been a fan of Alamo's. UPDATE: Alamo did the right thing and waived the $2000 fee. Thank you Alamo, I will continue doing business with you and have changed my rating.

The check in was very simple (make sure you download the app), I couldn't believe how quick it was. The vehicle was clean and in fantastic shape. The drop-off went very smooth and the staff was very friendly.

Very straight to the point here at Alamo rent a car at the Austin airport. Conceirge lady was pleasant. Our car concierge was straight forward as well. Since there were no economy cars at the ready, we received a free upgrade to a compact car. The chosen car was 90% clean, save for the rims and tires. Inside was exquisite however. The car drove smoothly without any issues. Returning was a breeze. Drive up, drop off, scan the car in and then you're ready to go. I love the no fuss, no hassle of this place.
