Service was excellent, real southern hospitality, easy access from the airport, you just walk across the street once you get your luggage, go up to the second floor where all the counters are and they will direct you to whichever floor your car is located.

Do not rent from this company. I had not rented from Budget in a long time and now I am remember why. I rented an electric vehicle which was a big headache. I returned the vehicle mostly clean with it being charged. They issued me a 450 dollar fine for the car smelling like smoke. I am not a smoker and there was no one else in the car. Instead of dropping the charge, they insisted that I be charged for it. But no one can tell me how the car smelled like smoke without someone actually smoking in it. Anyways, they have shitty customer service and are just looking to price gauge and rob you out of money. Do yourself a favor and choose another car rental company at the airport like Enterprise. I have never had any issues with their service.

Wanted to update this. They came after me and my insurance for 5grand in damages to a rig that I complained to them was damaged before I left the premises. After more headache and submitting my information and pictures and videos to my insurance they went away. Did I say stay away words can't express distance far enough.

NEVER AGAIN! NEVER RENT FROM BUDGET! BEWARE! We reserved a Budget rental car through Costco for our 1 week trip to Austin first week of Jan 2025. The car wasn't sparkling clean when we received it. There were bugs on the front grill and windows, black interior showed bits of lint, dust, dry grass, but other than that, relatively clean. Our trip was good, we had no issues with vehicle, and returned it the following week. Everything went as expected, until 2 weeks later we received an email from Budget stating the vehicle was returned dirty and we were charged an additional $450 for cleaning! Thought it was a scam email, but it's real. Of course, we reached out to Costco to help, but they were very frank, telling us they probably couldn't do much since we don't have any evidence (pictures) from when we returned the car. We asked Costco to get evidence of the damage - type of damage to vehicle. Costco came back with pictures and statement from Budget of "heavy smoke smell" in vehicle! Are you serious? We are life-time non-smokers! There was no one smoking in our vehicle! OK, PICTURES CAN'T show smoke smell - it's our word vs. theirs'. We lose because we can't prove otherwise. Costco apologized, but they couldn't do anything. I've attached the random pictures Budget sent Costco of "the damage." Really? If heavy smoke smell, why no picture of ashtray? Is that supposed to be ash or lint on the black interior? In the right light, that could be either. Touché Budget! you found a loophole and are taking advantage by charging customers extra fees! Our weekly car rental price doubled with the added fees! Expensive lesson learned. Get service rep to sign off on condition of vehicle. TAKE PICTURES AT PICK-UP AND RETURN. DON'T RENT FROM BUDGET!

These MORONS expected me to drive an UNSAFE, ABUSED, HUNK OF GARBAGE !!!!!! The vehicle had been damaged by the previous driver, The dried mud packed into the front rims, puke running down the passenger doors, Malfunctioning Brake system, 4 mismatched Tires ETC. I spent way to much time and accomplished nothing dealing with less than smart, argumentative Call Center Idiots in Mumbai. The vehicle was towed away. I have not been issued a total refund.

I rented a car from Avis, which I picked up via Budget at the Austin airport and returned to the Oakland airport. The car windshields were dirty inside and out, and there was pet slobber on the back windows. I was in a hurry, so I didn't complain. When I left my motel the next morning I noticed there was dog hair on the back seat, but I didn't care because I was picking up my son and his dog. I covered the back seat with a blanket for our Bordoodle and we started driving. Later, I received an email from Budget saying "Dear Avis Customer" you owe us and additional $250 for cleaning the car. I called them and they refused to delete the bill saying the car had dog hair in it. I only rented the car for 2 days and there was no other "damage" was claimed. Their website says pets are allowed, the car was already dirty, and how does it cost $250 to clean a car?!?! I will never use either Avis or Budget again. What a scam.

This place had two people working at its facility when I came into the airport to run a vehicle. The original cost was gonna be 400 and change I added some extras to it, which made it 600 and change when he added me the paper to sign it said 800 didn't change and I questioned him on it and he stated that's because of the $200 deposit that is refunded to you once the car is returned. The car was returned under all of the guidelines required, and I waited for my refund, which, of course never came. I contact budget who mysteriously became Avis when it came to sending me bills and correspondence and they deny that there was ever any talk of a refund deposit for a card, etc. That's the total amount is what I agreed to. When I asked them to produce the signed copy of what I signed at the counter, no one was able to know where it was at or where it could be found mind you when you call this operation. They literally have a prompt for you to push one two or three one of them being if you're calling about the whole refund on your card. Yet everyone is in denial and refuses to acknowledge anything. Do not use budget rental card. They are crooks and thieves. They will take you and lie to your face. Do not use them. You've been warned. do not do not do not.

If Budget isn't able to make a profit the honest way, surely they have other surreptitious ways to make money. On Nov 29, 2023 we travelled to Austin and rented a Nissan Rogue from Budget. On Dec 4 we returned the car. Everything was fine. Then a few days later, Budget sent us a letter charging us $125 for a cleaning fee. Budget said there was sand on the floor of the front passenger side. We disputed the charge and talked to numerous people, different people said different things but in the end the matter is not resolved. The insist on charging the fee. We used the car in city driving. We didn't purposely dump sand in the car. It was basically dirt brought into the car at the bottom of shoes. When we rented the car, the charge already included routine cleaning. Vacuuming the floor should be just part of the routine cleaning. Over the years we've spent thousands of dollars renting cars from Budget. For sure this will be the last time we rent cars from Budget!

The manager here charged me $125.00 to vacuum up a little bit of sand on 4 floor mats. Beware renting from this facility, they will charge you a week after your return your rental.

Since my post about my rental experience with Budget Austin, I have heard from a few people that have had the same experience and yet, NO attempt from Budget Austin, nor Budget Corporate, to try to figure this out, or to apologize for the inconvenience, absolutely NOTHING! So....people......STAY AWAY FRO BUDGET RENT A CAR ESPECIALLY THIS AUSTIN ONE....THEY ARE THIEVES!
