Back in 2007 I had to move my ailing father twice. The first move was from his ranch in Johnson City to an assisted living home in Fredericksburg. The second move was from Fredericksburg to the San Francisco Bay Area. I cannot speak highly enough about these guys. Everything about both rental experiences was flawless, including the trucks themselves. Thanks, Leland.

This guy was insanely rude and trying to hustle me. He was talking to me like I was an idiot and trying to get me to buy extra stuff even though I repeatedly said no. This was my first and last experience with budget rental.

As others have noted, the representative at this store will insist on purchasing insurance that is not necessary, lying that it is mandatory. They will also charge you for rental time while their store is closed with the implication being that since they were not open at that time, you default to an additional rental day, even if you did not need, want, request nor have the option of checking the truck in with a representative, because they randomly close the store on certain days. The individual running this operation is a scammer, an incompetent who actually locked us outside of the business during the rental of the vehicle, and a rude personality. Make no mistake, these reviews are all accurate and should be heeded.

Don't waste your time. This guys a class A jerk who will jerk you around when you come in and try to manipulate you to get extra $ on anything you have reserved to rent onsite.

The agent behind the desk at Austin Truck Rental on 1410 West Bend White in Austin, TX told me I was required to buy insurance for the truck and if I declined then I had to complete a mandatory form. In order to complete the form, he said I needed to call my auto insurance claims department in front of him to answers the questions answered. WhenI told him that I have rented trucks many times while moving my kids during college and I never had to do this before. He was insistent, so I paid the fee to get out of there. I called Budget and they confirmed insurance was not required and refunded me.

If you could put zero stars that would still be too high! There are no words for this location and this National Company's unbelievable customer service or lack there of! Pay more rent from anyone but this horrific company! I am filing a complaint with the BBB, TX State Attorney General Consumer Affairs, KXAN Channel 4/I-report and Costco Headquarters who had these yahoos listed as a reputable company! I have more time than to bother writing the details here, just hoping if someone reads this do your homework they are a sh_tshow to deal with! I wish I had done the research ahead of time. I assumed because of the rental car luck over the years I had it would have been the same. Not in the least! An unclaimed page; so apparent the location could care of their reviews, this is just for those that look them up! Run!

We have attempted customer service, emergency phone line, and the area supervisor of our rental location multiple times, with no resolutionother than automated messages. At pick up the person was initially extremely rude & an unprofessional demeanor. That should have been our red flag to not do business. Bottom line- we received a vehicle with a check engine light on- a gas line that was duct taped/leaking etc. before we discovered it during a gas fill up over 200 miles later, bolts falling on our heads from the overhead cabin attaches, a tire pressure light on now that will not clear with air appropriately added, etc. on a 1400 mile trip. While looking for contact and reservation information- we find another customers documents and private information left in the glove box from early March 2020 in the beginning stages of the Pandemic. From the mileage information, it appears there was a customer between that customer and us. Extremely concerning and doubtful that Budget Avis has taken the appropriate cleaning measures on top of duct taping a gas line that could severely harm the customer or others. The gas station ground was covered in leaking gas. We then proceeded to sit in the gas station parking lot for 6 hours in excessive heat at night waiting on 16 maintenance emergency calls ahead of ours before being able to resume our trip. Every single hotel in the vicinity was fully booked with no options. The mechanic from his private company that came to fix the problem was in absolute disbelief when he saw the duct taped gas line. To make matters worse, we are behind on our trip, work, school, and getting back to our family on time; all while Budget customer service copies and pastes their automated responses: "I very much appreciate your taking the time to tell Budget Truck about your recent experience. On behalf of our entire team, I sincerely apologize for the issues you had with your rental. Budget Truck strives to provide a mechanically sound, well-maintained truck fleet, and your experience is not typical. We are sincerely sorry that you were inconvenienced, and extremely disappointed that we fell short of your expectations." And, the area supervisor for the truck rental ignores the situation with no responses. As well as the auto responses last paragraph seems to not acknowledge any issues or suggest rectification, while focusing on the return of the truck rental and close out- and then discussion of "inconveniences reimbursement" can be addressed with the same customer service that sends automated responses. All in all- gravely concerning that Avis Budget operates like this. Still no calls or help from Avis Budget.

One star is too high. I spoke to Mike the day after trying to return my truck and he was extremely rude and even though this business posts their hours that they will be open; it seems they come and go as they please. So, if you need to pick up or drop off, they may not be there. They make no apologies, and they don't seem to care so I would avoid this location and budget truck rentals at all costs. My entire rental was a disaster.

They were helpful at the store when we asked for the tire pressure to be checked before we left. About 2.5 hours into the drive, we had a horrible blow out (attached photo). We sat on hold with roadside assistance and currently have been waiting almost 3 hours from them to come while they still haven't told us an ETA when they will be arriving with a new tire.
