Since day one, our kitchen sink was defective and leaking behind the cabinetry and through the truck onto the ground. (August 4-15/16, 2025) We didn't discover the extent of this malfunction until day two, when the leak was coming into the living area on the floor. We called Cruise America's travel helpline in an attempt to diagnose the leak and followed their instructions to try a repair (tightening the plumbing). This did not work. And due to our tight travel commitments (12 days - ATX WA ATX), we could not stop to get the RV serviced. (And why should I be paying rental time for a product repair that was never delivered in working condition?) We were unable to use the kitchen sink and had to rely on the bathroom sink, which is plumbed into the black tank. This meant our grey tank was never used. As a result, we had to empty the black tank much more frequently and flush the drain hose afterward with water, since the grey tank couldn't provide a rinse. We also had to wash all of our dishes in the bathroom sink, which led to a negative experience every day with every meal we cooked or prepared. We even returned the RV a day early because of the inconvenience during our planned 12-day trip to WA and back. I reported this when I returned the RV. The employee who helped me was very sympathetic but said she couldn't do anything other than refer me to Cruise America's Customer Relations helpline. She also mentioned this was a known issue lately since their previous repair tech had been replaced. I wrote to Customer Relations in a professional manner, explaining the entire situation and requesting a partial refund. It took three weeks to hear back. After some back and forth, I was offered a $175 gift certificate/voucher. This is not acceptable. Why would I accept a sales/marketing ploy to entice me to spend even more money with Cruise America when you failed to provide a working RV from day one? This is not a corrective measure. I professionally countered and suggested a very fair $400 credit back on my card, given the negative daily experience my wife and I endured. Some meals we ate out just to avoid the hassle of cleaning, and we returned the RV a day early--effectively giving the center an extra day to fix the RV before the next renter. Several days later I received cherry-picked "quotes" from the rental contract that were clearly misused. The fact remains: you failed to provide a working vehicle from day one. This didn't break during the trip. It was received in a broken condition. The sign-off sheet did not include confirming a functional kitchen sink. Also, an employee confirmed this was a known issue for RVs during this time frame due to a previous repair tech's lack of quality work. They offered a $200 credit and a $175 voucher. I declined and insisted on the $400 credit, no voucher. They refused. I spent just over $3,000 to rent a full-size, full-kitchen, fully functional RV for 12 days. I didn't pay for a partially working RV. It would have been different if the sink had broken during our trip. But it didn't. It was leaking on our driveway on day one while we were loading the rig with our belongings. (At first we thought it was excess AC condensation, which felt odd, but made more sense the day after discovering the true problem ) Since Cruise America is not providing quality customer satisfaction and dragging this out over a measly $200 - I'm left to share my experiences to others and escalate via extra channels. Save your money, time, and frustration. Do not rent from Cruise America.

To Whom This May Concern, On November 19th, my Fiancé and I picked up our RV in Austin for a week-long trip to New Mexico for Thanksgiving to visit her family. Our experience driving the RV was incredibly disappointing, underwhelming, and quite honestly, traumatizing. The first way I would describe our experience in the RV would be, loud. Having some experience in RVs, we did not expect a quiet trip. However, as you can hear in the videos attached, the appliances were shaking and rattling for hours on end. So much so, that my fiancé became distraught and upset vowing to never rent an RV again through Cruise America. As you can imagine, listening to these noises for 11 hours straight would drive the most patient person insane, and both my Fiance and I are struggling to put the experience behind us. The second way I would describe our experience in the RV would be, uncomfortable. As you can see in the second video included, the passenger seat would shake uncontrollably when driving on the highway. Adding to the discomfort and anxiety that my Fiance experienced a majority of the trip. In addition, the water hose was extremely leaky to the point it was not able to connect to the RV, causing further issues when at our campsite. We hope to come to an agreement on receiving a portion of the thousands of dollars that we paid to go through this experience. We look forward to hearing back. Do not rent from them. Vehicles are old and unsafe. I don't even know where to begin. It is a franchise and should be closed by Cruse America. I will be contacting them. We rented a 32 ft RV. Immediately, I noticed problems. It hadn't been washed and the window was covered in bug splats. As soon as we got in it, we realized there was no back-up camera, nor a place to plug In your phone for navigation. Those are safety issues. Then I found out there was no TV! Part of the fun on vacation was letting the kids watch TV on the trip. (Note the site says that vehicles may have different options then listed). We did not turn around because we wanted to make the deadline for checking into Port A RV camp. Also we had paid for RV site and wouldn't have gotten a refund. I doubt there would have been a better one there. Another huge deal was the bathroom. The toilet was on a platform which was not being enough for a man/boy to stand on. So my kindergarten had to be lifted and use the bathroom sitting down. Not good. So we mostly used the campground bathroom. Last, and thank goodness this was not a personal for me. Cruise America offered the option of renting linens and kitchen stuff. There were some boxes out in the grimy office. The items looked like they came from Goodwill. I doubt seriously they were sanitized given the surroundings.

My family and i (3 kids,2 & under) and my husband took a 25ft RV through New Mexico, and all around the entire state of Colorado & back to TX. Our trip was a total of 2600 miles of pure bliss!! Absolutely no issues... we had a BLAST! we loved our rv and i loved dealing with Cruise America! They are awesome and super helpful with all my questions. The place you pick up the rvs is super cramped and is far from spotless.. HOWEVER, I'm only there to pick up what i need and leave. no the RV doesn't have a tv.. we went to Walmart and bought my babies portable DVD players and it was great! The RV isn't a $100,000 motorhome so don't expect it to be. It's a perfect getaway home to cruise everywhere you want, at low cost with your family. thanks cruise America!!

A very nice experience working with Hit (renting rep). Rented the 30-foot RV for five nights and stayed a couple hours away from Austin. Clean and new rig (45k miles and nice interior). Rates were a touch high-ish for such a basic RV, but the as a good experience for our first RV trip.

What a dump. The office, the RV, and the experience was sub-par. The office was crammed into a building that looks like 4 businesses sharing the same space. The office was dirty, and I didn't want to touch a thing in there. There was a guy (employee?) sitting on the couch in the office munching away on his lunch. The RV was "ok". The hose for the water hook up needed to be replaced because it leaked, the air conditioner didn't work very well, and it took forever for the refrigerator to cool down. There was an interesting smell in the RV that you can probably imagine comes from a budget rental motel on wheels.

My husband and I had this RV trip planned for two months. But, had issues from the beginning on June 13th. We called on multiple occasions and were told we could leave our car. When we got there, we were told no parking was available so we ended up having to drive 45 minutes back home which delayed the start of our trip. On the first night out, we started the generator at 9pm and had AC on high due to extreme heat. At 11:30 PM, we were awoken by what we eventually found out was the CO2 sensor so we immediately shut down the generator. My husband used the reset to silence the alarm but restarting the generator still resulted in CO2 alerts. Since we were tired after 13 hours of driving, we had to find a hotel to get some rest. The next day after taking a shower, the water in the shower would not drain. My husband tried scooping the water into the sink but it kept coming out so he was forced to dump it into the toilet. When we called for assistance, they told us to dump the tank since it sounded like the 16 gallon gray water tank was filled. This was our first night out and we did not use the sink and only used the toilet three times since we had facilities available on the road. Since we were at our destination and not near a dump facility, we had to wait on checking this. When we did empty the tanks, immediately upon taking the cap out, raw sewage started pouring from the pipe. This happened on both occasions when we dumped the tank. Clearly this RV was not checked. As for the sensor, they said it was likely a false alarm. When we tested a day later, it did not trip the alarm but the damage was already done. Then, there were issues returning the RV. The very rude women working at the local Austin location mentioned she saw a few dogs hairs and we had to clean them up or get charged a fee. We cleaned the RV top to bottom on Sunday June 20th before dropping it off. It was cleaner than when we picked it up. Needless to say, my husband and I will never rent from Cruise American again.

Just rented a 25 ft motor home for a 3 day trip around Austin. The price worked out to about $175 a night after all the charges. That's about what I'd pay for a good Hotel. It was easy to rent online, and the people there were friendly and efficient. The RV was in good shape with just a few small issues. We returned it on time and got hit with no extra fees :) Would rent from them again.

We were going to rent a 30 ft RV with this company over spring break. I put the deposit down online and we weren't sure if we wanted to rent the 30 ft RV or a 25 ft RV due to some space limits at the state park we were going to visit. We decided to swing by the actual location to see if we could look at both sizes and then make a final decision. Im glad we went by there first. This place looked crapy from the outside. We almost passed by it because it was hid behind 20 budget rental trucks. The individual we dealt with was nice but someone that I would not choose to deal with. We were able to look inside a RV which was nasty. The whole interaction made us feel like we were making a big mistake. We left the place feeling dirty and looked them up on yelp to confirm all of my suspicions. I called them back the next day to cancel my reservation and get a refund. Cruise America looks nice on its web page but they need to be a little more selective on who they allow to rent out there RV's

We rented a 30 ft RV online for 4 days. We were pleased with the service we received from Cruise America's Austin location mostly due to Carletta, the sweet customer service gal who went over the rental paperwork and did the RV walk-through with us. All of the other reviews about how crammed and dirty the location is, are very true. However, Carletta is AMAZING! She is great at her job- very nice and personable, despite her surroundings...no A/C in her office even (at the time we rented)...and thoroughly and correctly explained the RV and how to handle the electric and water hookups and dump. It was our first time to RV. She has the best smile and personality; we thoroughly enjoyed her. She made our rental experience so positive. Side note: If you plan to leave your vehicle there while you are RVing, be prepared to also leave your car keys with them. That's so they can move your vehicle around the very small and crammed premises in case they need to as they process the RVs and Budget trucks and other renters' vehicles. I was uncomfortable with that myself; however, my vehicle was fine when we returned. The condition of the RV we rented was immaculate, so clean and smelled good. Our experience with Cruise America and their Austin location was very positive.
