This is a nice hotel. Clean, well arranged, pleasant staff. You get points for each visit and if you skip housekeeping you get points. It adds up. They have a free Happy Hour every eve with snacks, wine and beer and full bar. Tonight I was amazed at the selection: soup, salad bar, baked potatoes, nachos, Alfredo pasta, chicken strips. It's not haute cuisine but I'm thinking if I had kids I'd tell them to fill up at the HH and then I'd go out to eat with my husband! There's a soda machine with free sodas anytime. Full hot breakfast buffet. There's also a popcorn machine in the lobby. The pool is huge and a big hit with the grand kids.

This is located about 15 minutes away from downtown Austin, so the location is pretty good. At first glance it seemed a little on the "shady side" and a little older. However, the property was clean, the rooms were clean, the free morning breakfast was good, and so was the afternoon "kickback". The staff was so friendly and offered good suggestions about what to see and where to eat. I would say that you get real value for your money here. We also met up with a group of friends in the area and the hotel lobby (which is huge) offered a nice place to meet and hang out for a bit. I'd definitely recommend staying here if you're not looking for high end accommodations.

My husband, myself, our 10 year old, and my mom stayed at this Drury location on a Saturday night. The hotel was very easy to get to and to spot from the road. There is ample parking especially once you get your key card to your room. There's a gated parking lot just for Drury patrons which was nice. It was a huge parking lot that wrapped around the whole building. (The building is very wide!) The parking lot was also very clean and well maintained. When checking in, we were greeted by the general assistant manager who checked us in. He was very nice and friendly. I had reserved a room using a different card, but I was told I would need a card for incidentals. No problem since I know hotels always put a hold on cards that get released after the stay. I was told the card would only charge a holding fee of $50 for incidentals. The screen said $241 which was the cost of the room plus the $50 incidentals hold. I asked again if it was only for incidentals which I was assured it was and that the room cost would be booked under the card I used to book (hold) the room. I got to my room, and I had noticed that the full amount was charged to the card that was only supposed to be used for the $50 incidentals hold. I was more worried about being charged twice, so I went back downstairs and spoke to the general assistant manager about it since it was he who checked me in. He wasn't sure what had happened either since he saw that I had been charged the full amount in my card that was supposed to be used for incidentals and not the card I used to book the room. I told him not to worry about it because I didn't want to have to worry about refunds and putting it back on the original card and all that mess. I wasn't angry, but I'm just saying this in case someone else uses a different card for incidentals than the card they booked the room with. The hotel itself was nice and clean. Fresh popcorn was being made as we walked in to check in. We were about 40 minutes early but were able to check in right away. The assistant general manager (I hate that I have forgotten his name) explained everything to us about breakfast, the kick back (dinner), popcorn, soda, breakfast, elevators, where our room was...just everything we needed to know. He was great! We had booked a two room two queen suite on the upper floor. We were put on the top floor (which was the fourth floor). Our room was very clean and comfy. There was even a whole bag full of linens for the sofa bed and two extra pillows for it in the closet in the room. The air conditioner was a little loud, but I was able to tune it out. Plus, I hate absolute silence. WiFi signal was also good as was the water pressure in the shower. I did hate the super cheap toilet paper though, but I know that's a corporate thing and not the individual hotel's fault. Oh, the blackout curtains did such a great job that when I woke up, I thought it was much earlier than what it actually was. It was so dark in the room, I thought it was about 5:30am. I looked at the time and it was past 7am, so I opened the curtains and noticed that the sun was already up so kudos to those blackout curtains! Beds were very comfy, and even my kid said the sofa bed was comfy. The kick back (dinner) at the restaurant was okay. I wish there was a bit more of a selection. That night it was barbecue pulled pork sliders, mac and cheese, baked beans, coleslaw, nachos, hot dogs, salad, and chicken tortilla soup. My kid was happy with hot dogs. My mom can't have pork because it makes her sick, and I eat low fat and don't eat pork so I just had the soup. It was good, but it was mostly broth. My mom had a beer and said it wasn't that great, but she said her rum and coke was really good. Breakfast was good and better than a lot of other hotels. Breakfast on Sunday morning was scrambled eggs, sausage patties, breakfast potatoes, oatmeal, assorted pastries, waffles, cereal, yogurt, and three or four types of juice. I also liked how there were two kinds of hot tea and hot chocolate to go along with the choice of coffee. All in all, this is a great Drury hotel. Very family friendly, and all the staff I dealt with were very nice. I would recommend it but just be careful about using a different card for incidentals.

The Drury Inn North Austin offers competitive rates and quite a bit of "bang" for the buck. In addition to free breakfast and free parking (which many do not offer in Austin), they also offer a free evening happy hour service with a lot of food, which some use as a full dinner. I have stayed there multiple times and have always found the service to be very friendly. The location is secure, even though the surrounding neighborhood is not the best. However, from the hotel's location, it's easy access to the university and other key spots in Austin. A minor gripe - the exercise room was pretty dirty on my last visit, and the equipment needs a refresh. Overall, though, if you want value, location, and friendly service, the Drury Inn North Austin is a choice you should consider.

This review is just to call out the managers (or whatever title they have)....wow, I have never see so much hustle. One minute they're checking folks in, the next they're serving beer during the evening happy hour. If you book, do be sure you know there are two Drury locations very close...we drove to the wrong one.

In town for training and the price and location were spot on for this Inn. The reservation process was easy using Hotels.com. Upon arrival, the staff treated me like I was a VIP and the room was way beyond what I expected! The upkeep was very good and my one night stay was super! The mattress was very comfortable and the room was very clean. If back in the area, I'll be picking this place again!

Having done an analysis of every hotel in Austin under $300 for my eclipse trip, using amenities, location, and (of course) Yelp reviews as factors, I determined Drury Inn the best value, and I was not disappointed. The main reason this is the best hotel for families is because they offer daily fresh breakfast, lunch, and dinner-ish buffets (plus popcorn and nightly adult beverages) for free, with staff keeping the area clean and restocked. Despite being packed, I never was without a seat. The location was right off I-35, which offered all the convenience of travel (13 minutes to downtown or airport) with none of the noise or riff-raff. The gated lot required your card to get in for added security. (Though it does nothing to protect from the hail- yikes! I thought we were near a driving range). Four restaurants are within walking distance if you miss the hotel dining hours. PS. If you like dive bars, Lala's Little Nugget (Christmas themed) and Aristocrat Lounge (shuffleboard) are 3 miles away, northeast. (I wrote separate reviews for them). Unfortunately, I got Room 345 next to the stairwell and elevator, but the hotel was mostly quiet. I didn't hear noise from my neighbors or steps from above. The odd ten foot hallway from our suite door to bathroom may have been a nice cushion. AC, heat, elevators, and free wi-fi all worked fine. Curtains closed to keep out the lights. Bed was comfortable. Water pressure was fine. The unexpected bonus was SHOWER AMENITIES THAT LATHER. Outside of boutique hotels, every hotel I've attended offered thin, scented waters disguised as soap that require dozens of pumps and furious manipulation to get even a sud of lather. It's like a Survivor fire challenge trying to get clean. Drury uses H2O, which is green, organic, natural, paraben free, toxin free, and animal safe. And it's not just liquid smell- it lathers. I only wish Drury Inn had a jacuzzi, but what can you do. It has a pool. Fart in it if you want bubbles.

This is a very nice affordable place to stay, and I have stayed at this hotel several times. The employees here are always helpful and are always smiling. They offer a very good free dinner and breakfast. They also offer three free drinks in the evening. I would have given a 5 star review, but their elevator is broken! There is a long walk with luggage now.

Drury is my go-to hotel for me and my family. They may not be the newest and shiniest hotel in whatever town you visit, but they are always consistent on quality and service. I love the fact that they offer free breakfast and light dinner. After a long day of travel, you can also enjoy free complimentary alcoholic drinks during their evening social. The rooms are cozy and the shower always provides very good water pressure, better than most other hotels I've been to. The staff are always helpful and accommodating if there's ever an issue. This location is next to a Chili's and Pappasito's, so it's very convenient to just walk on through the parking lot to enjoy some good food. This location also has plenty of parking available, so that's never been an issue for me. They also have a rewards program that allows you to earn points towards some free nights, so this is great if you travel quite a bit. I only took off one star because the walls are a bit thin and noise from the hallways will seep into the room if there's noise right outside in the hallway. Other than that, Drury always gives great value for your dollar. Would recommend!
