We stayed at Embassy Suites by Hilton because is a brand we usually trust. Overall, the stay was fine, but a couple of things were disappointing. Breakfast was confusing. We were expecting the well-known "cooked to order" option, but instead saw what looked like a standard buffet. The powdered eggs were fluffy at first, but the staff member working the station kept breaking them down into tiny pieces, which made them less appetizing. As we were leaving, my husband noticed the actual "cooked to order" station with a chef standing there, but there were no signs or direction pointing guests that way. It would really help if Embassy Suites added clearer signage so guests know this feature is available powdered eggs shouldn't be the first (or only) option you see. In the evening, we stopped by the happy hour, which is usually one of the best parts of an Embassy Suites stay. Unfortunately, the bartender didn't seem very familiar with making drinks, so the experience wasn't what we expected. We like Embassy Suites and know they can do better, but this stay missed the mark in a few key areas.

Stay: One Night - July 4th/5th Pros: Hotel is directly on South Congress, and it is easy to walk to all the flagship shops on SoCo, and the Congress Street bats. I highly recommend both. Hotel staff are all very friendly. Manager's Reception from 5:00 to 6:30 M-F Free Beer, Wine, and house drinks, along with snacks Be early if you want a chance of getting snacks. Awesome Breakfast buffet and omelet station included with the stay. You cannot get a better breakfast, so plan to eat at the hotel. Dog friendly - Dogs stay for a nominal fee ($75 for 1-4 nights) Price - competitively priced for downtown, Cons: Views - Due to the way the hotel is situated on the property, there are only partial city views and no views of the river/Lady Bird Lake. Parking - No attached parking. If you self-park you will need to brave the elements. There is no breezeway from the parking deck to the hotel. Parking is expensive ($59/night for self-park). Swimming Pool - Very Small. The entire area is cramped and dated. A hotel this size should have opted for no pool rather than what they have. We went down for a swim, saw the pool, and decided to do something else. Particular to my visit: Only one of the three elevators was running on July 4th and 5th. At times there were 15-20 people waiting. Very frustrating and inconvenient. Our Room: We had the King city view on the 7th floor. Not much of a view due to the way the hotel is situated on the property, but still nice. Room and bathroom was very clean. The couch had quite a few stains on it. The cushion foam was coming out of the seam. Toilet ran endlessly unless you jiggled it. The bedroom had a door separating it from the living area, but the bathroom was inside the bedroom area. Would have been nice if there were two doors so that those on the sleeper sofa could use the toilet without entering the master bedroom (e.g. Jack-Jill setup). Tip: If you plan on using the pull-out sleeper couch notify the front desk for linens before you are ready to turn in for the night. Even though we had listed four people on the reservation, there were no linens/blankets/pillows in the suite for the pull-out bed. We also were given just three towels for four people. Check that before everyone starts getting ready. Other - Room 713 (a nearby neighbor) had about 10-15 unsupervised teenage and early 20's people staying in it. They were loud and ran up and down the halls yelling at 4:00 and 5:00 in the morning. Issue with hotel/managment? - you decide. We would stay again, but will try out the Hyatt Regency for the New Year Fireworks.

Our stay at the Embassy Suites by Hilton in Downtown Austin great. Check in was very easy. Diamond at the front desk was truly a gem. She was so welcoming and gave us ideas after she found out it was our first trip to Austin. We got a two bedroom suite. However, we thought that meant there would be two actual bedrooms however it was two rooms with one room having two clean beds. We were a little miffed because we thought we would have two separate rooms, but at the end of the day, the room was very nice and there was plenty of space to move around. The hotel itself was your typical Embassy Suites. There was complementary breakfast from 6-9 am which we never woke up early enough to try. There was also a manager's reception which we definitely enjoyed. The reception offered an assortment of snacks with a complementary drinks at the bar. During our stay only one of the three tower elevators worked. This often led to long waits, especially if the hotel was particularly busy. We almost missed our Lyft because we could not get down to the lobby fast enough. On our last night, we tried the lobby restaurant for a late night snack. Staff was wonderful and gracious. Food and drinks were both fantastic. The location of this hotel was ideal for us. Since we didn't have a rental car, we had to rely on Lyft to get around. The places we wanted to go to were easily accessible from the hotel. I'd come back to this hotel if I was ever back in Austin.

Does not get much worse folks Food and filth on the floors in bedrooms and crusty sheets. See photos below. I have filed complaint with Hilton and submitted all the photos. Hotels excuse it's they share a general manager with another property but so do a lot of other hotels across the US Elevator buttons cracked broken with tape over and really plan your parking if you stay here, the self parking is not close. Thankfully as a diamond member we had parking every close but if not you will be hoofing it. The hotel smells of mold and both rooms they gave us on same haughty floor had old food, hair balls, crusted filth on base boards. One room filth black filth backed up in tub This is a hard stop NO

Centrally located and clean. Take in scenic views of the Austin skyline from this Hilton downtown hotel, located next to the Congress Avenue Bridge and Lady Bird Lake. The Austin Convention Center, Warehouse District, Sixth Street, and Second Street shops are less than a mile away. You can enjoy their indoor pool, free made-to-order breakfast, and complimentary evening reception. We booked non-smoking standard suite that featured one king-sized bed. The room also had a visual alarm, and notification devices for the doorbell or door knock and incoming telephone calls. There was separate large leaving room with extra TV and desk (ideal for those who work remotely). The bathroom was spacious and included large walk-in shower. The room was clean and had very nice views. All amenities were equally clean and staff were friendly. Would stay here again.

It's not a five star hotel by any means but it gets five stars as a great place to stay in my book. Breakfast included, and it was good too. Sausage, bacon, eggs, hash browns, bagels, toast, cereal, yogurt, etc. Nice little bar and lounge area. Clean rooms with a sofa and big TV's. I think they should out larger pillows. The pillows are little squares not rectangles. Front desk service was polite but I wouldn't say warm. Great location to stuff in both sides of the river: South Congress shipping and food is a ten minute walk. And 6th street the other direction.

Great location and staff. Hotel, bar, and restaurant is very clean and well maintained. Hotel is close to city attractions and has a great walking score. Additionally, this place offers a beautiful view of the city.

I was on a business trip and have to admit these rooms were great. Clean and comfortable is how I would describe this room! The most intriguing feature was the shower - I know this is weird but most hotels have the faucet right under the shower head and ultimately you're getting that first burst of cold water as it comes out. Not this one! The faucet is right inside and you can adjust to your temperature before getting in! My travels to Austin has put me here twice and I will admit I have enjoyed my stay both times! Price was reasonable. The last thing I enjoy is getting up and having a great breakfast! The grill that can tailor make an omelette to your tastes is exceptional!

Embassy Suites can be kind of hit or miss, a lot have clearly aged- not well might I add. This is one of the older ones and definitely needs a bit of updating. Despite needing some updates, my room was clean and properly taken care of. The staff is great and was helpful in finding me a room on the top floor with a great view of downtown. The view at night was pretty great. Breakfast was awesome, lots of different choices. The woman making omelets there was a true artist with food. It was one of the best omelettes I've ever had and really set the place apart as many in these hotel brands clearly don't care about their work. I really wish I got her name because she is the sole reason I bumped this review from 3 stars to 4. That woman needs a raise.
