Parking? Easy. They have a front lot off Congress and another one off Sandra (just South on Congress after you pass the bar). The drinks? Oh my gaaahhd. I'm usually not a fan of 'craft cocktails' out bc they're overpriced and not nearly as good as what my partner makes at home, but these were glorious. These drinks had layers of flavor. And fresh ingredients. And they were reasonably priced. Honestly, I don't even remember the last time we had such good drinks out (ok that's a lie but another review and it was at that place where Crowbar used to be - but these win hands down). The bartenders were nice and knowledgeable (Did I mention they make amazing drinks?). The outside has a similar feel to Cosmic but more secluded which is nice. They have plenty of seating, mostly outside, and food from an onsite truck, Sabor Tapatio. Honestly, I feel like this place is a unicorn. 78745 low key vibe but also with some old school Austin feels (I'm talking 2005 mid-Noughties - not 20-teen Rainey Street batch cocktails). They also have coffee in the mornings which we'll be checking out sooner rather than later. 10/10 recommend.

I felt right at home at Fortune Teller! Moody lights paired with alchemy and elixirs (well, at least I felt spelbounded by my deeeelish mezcal marg) makes this a great spot for fans or followers of occult practices, or at least those who can have fun with it! The voodoo beach vibes makes this a special gem-with loads of patio seating, dark and sexy indoor bar, outside restrooms, and a Sabor taco truck. They appear to boast a lot of coffee drinks and perhaps a daytime menu that's great work laptops and pinkies up. Great tunes too. I ended up dancing with one of the barkeeps/owner?

I really dig coming here. I adore that the vintage signage still exists, and it makes for a sure bet you won't pass it up when driving by. I have to say the plus for me is how they are like 99% of Austin, allowing dogs. They have a dog-friendly patio that is perfect for someone like me who takes my best friend everywhere. Their moniker is coffee, cocktails, and community, and that it is! The beverages are top-notch, whether you're going n/a, latte, or all the way. And community? YES! Literally everyone there, from patrons to staff, wants to get to know you. Like, actually take the time to have a quality conversation and interaction, if only for a few minutes. This is a true Austin jewel.

So glad they kept the quirky fortune teller sign out front. I've always admired it while driving by, so finally stopping in felt extra fun. We came on a Sunday and got our drinks almost immediately. The cherry cold brew (I think that's what it was) was delicious! It was smooth and just the perfect amount of sweet. The hibiscus tea was just as tasty and refreshing. The only downside is the parking situation since it's pretty limited. One of us had to hop out to grab drinks while the other circled around. Still, totally worth it for the vibe and the quality of the drinks.

What an adorable, much needed addition to South Austin. Inside is small, which to me means it's perfect because if you come here to work, it stays mostly quiet. You can sit at the bar or there is one high top with 4 chairs. We were the first ones to arrive on a Thursday morning and were warmly greeted by the barista/bartender. He was so excited to share every little detail about the work that was done inside, including his favorite, a grackle peering outside of a red-tinted window facing South Congress. The coffee was good (and hot) and quick to make. All that's noticeably missing inside is a water cooler. He mentioned they were quick to open so still working out some kinks but this place is going to be my go-to for the foreseeable future. Something else to note: there's a QR code on the receipt that makes it super easy to pay. PS: the Kickstarter story, specifically how Thomas Bailey came across and acquired the sign out front is a must read.

I had been curious about this spot ever since seeing the large neon FORTUNE TELLER sign whenever I drove by on South Congress. I wondered if that had always been there and I had just never noticed but this sign is anything but forgettable. Judging just from the sign, you wonder what this place actually is - is it an actual fortune teller's business or something else? In a sense, it's both. The sign itself was from an actual fortune teller in Nevada, which the owner of FORTUNE TELLER bought and it served as a central inspiration for the look and feel of this place. I live within walking distance of FORTUNE TELLER, and in this part of South Austin, although we have amazing local walkable spots like Little Darlin' and Sagebrush, there has always been demand for more. A testament to that feeling is that yesterday when FORTUNE TELLER announced it was opening at 8pm, the news spread to all my neighbors and we all came by to see what it was all about. The spot is very cute. The coffee and bar are inside this quaint little cabin, transporting you away from the bustle of South Congress. The bulk of the seating is outdoors, which will soon see the return of the great taco truck that used to be here. The cocktail menu is solid, with a lot of interesting takes on classics. The Mezcalita is strong and not very smoky as it includes Espolon Blanco as well, and more about enjoying the taste of the tequila as opposed to all the other stronger flavors to mask it in a margarita. I also tried the Sangria Spritz, which was really refreshing and not sweet. It also had a complex licorice flavor, which I think was from the Nonino. Many in our group opted for the canned slightly fizzy rosé, which was really good. The wine menu was limited at opening but we were told will be fleshed out over time. (They just got the city approval to open so they decided to open right away, while continuing to make changes) With my usual cafe standards on the menu like cold brew and matcha latte, I'm looking forward to working from here soon. FORTUNE TELLER describes itself using the words Coffee, Cocktails, Community. I really felt the importance of the last part last night. It was a place that facilitated conversation, where you could commune with friends and strangers. The parking situation evokes community as well, with the ability to park in neighboring parking lots like Twin Liquors (when it's not open). It's a place you want to support, not just because it's down the street and the staff are all friendly good people, but also because not many places have, cultivate or prioritize this good of a vibe.

Wow, such a charming bar! The cocktails are creative and the staff is warm and welcoming. We tried the fig old fashioned and the lavender bee's knees--both were fantastic, though I would have loved just a touch more lavender in the bee's knees. I'd definitely come back to explore more of their cocktail menu!

It's too bad no one's claimed this spot yet. I went here to have a tarot reading with Snowy and it was my first visit and I didn't know you could eat here so I already had dinner but because I don't drink, I was low key impressed with their coffee and tea menu because I had hot tea at 6pm on a weeknight and to me that's a vibe. It's a slight challenge to get it iced but not impossible so I just took it hot since I was sitting inside the bar. If you order food there actually digital kiosk to put your order into but I don't know what's on that menu. It was a hot day outside but I imagine when it gets cooler, this will be a nice spot to pull up and grab a bit and drinks with friends. The reading with Snowy was great and inside the bar it's small with limited bar seating but that's the only place with A/C.

So glad I found this place. There are not a lot of great coffee choices near William Cannon and Congress. I went at 8am to get coffee. Iced coffee with almond milk and it was really good. The place is so cool inside. Very rustic, warm and charming. Apparently they have great cocktails so I'll be back. There is also a taco truck right next door. The owner is also super nice and charming. Check it out!
