We stopped by after dinner and loved the initial vibe--intimate, cozy, and not too loud, which was just what we were looking for. It turns out they were doing a soft launch of their food menu for friends and family, with the full launch planned for next week (according to our server). I was excited about the cocktail menu, which featured Japanese-inspired ingredients and looked thoughtfully crafted. Unfortunately, the execution didn't live up to the concept. I ordered the Sayonara Angelus--their take on an espresso martini--and found it overwhelmingly sweet, to the point that I couldn't finish it and gave it to my partner. The Warlock of the Woods was better, but at $22 for a cocktail, it didn't feel worth the price. The biggest downside wasn't the drinks, though--it was a comment from the bartender. Whether she was tipsy or just overly blunt, her remarks about OKC were unnecessarily harsh and left a sour taste. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but hearing someone openly insult my hometown felt like a slap in the face and really dampened the experience. In short, while the ambiance was great, the overpriced drinks and off-putting commentary kept this from being a place I'd recommend or return to soon.

NEW Golden Ace brings a lovely downtown cocktail bar + lounge with Japanese-inspired small bites food menu and cocktail program. The ambiance is cool, comfortable, and intimate for dates or small groups. You can find cocktails crafted by @suzuvroom of @netflix Drink Masters and bites that pair well! Our favorite bites were the wakame dip, tuna crispy rice, akami roll, and wagyu donburi.

Pro tip: Great ambiance for a night cap. Plans to start including small bites. A new spot serving japanese-inspired cocktails. Honestly, I didn't have high expectations due to the downtown location...but, for the prices, the drinks were certainly quality. The Furasato went down smooth and paired well with a delicious Japanese rice cracker. Gin, Myoga, Genmaicha, Yuzu, Seabean. Would have again. The Sayonara Angelus was also pretty cool! A cold brew-based drink served in a Greek-style ceramic cup. Odd for a Japanese restaurant, but fun, nonetheless.

Delightful experience. This a beautiful buildout toeing the line between comfortable cozy and high end nice without being stuffy or trying too hard. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were inviting, helpful and happy to chat. The drinks delivered. And that is a must at these prices. The yume is one of the smoothest cocktails I have ever tried. The furusato was perfectly balanced, the yuzu came through and blended with the botanicals in the gin for an easy yet complex sipper. A lovely play on an almost gin and tonic. The imaginary folklore was Negroni-esque with the added bonus of the richness of the Shochu. I will be back to try the rest of the signature cocktails soon.
