This Hampton is located at the southeast corner of the I-35 and Highway 71. This location is close enough to downtown and airport, but far away enough from traffic congestion. The downside of this location is that no eating places within walking distance. The room and bathroom were clean. AC, WiFi, refrigerator, and water pressure were great. However, there was no in room microwave. Two microwaves with plastic utensils were available in lobby, but no plates and bowls. The two queen beds were comfortable. The free breakfast was the usual Hampton fares, filling but bland. Employees were friendly and efficient. I paid about $154 for one night including all fees and tax, very reasonable. We don't mind staying here again with our next visit to Austin.

I have always enjoyed staying at La Quinta; however, this location provided the worst experience I have ever had with the brand. When I checked in, I was required to give a $50 deposit, which I wasn't sure about, but I accepted it. Upon entering my room, it was warm. I turned on the air conditioning at a lower temperature, and while it cooled down initially, during the night, it began making popping sounds. I increased the temperature, thinking that 69 degrees was too low, but I still felt a bit warm in the room. Then, the TV service went out and remained unavailable until I left. As we were leaving for the afternoon, the fire alarm went off. We took the stairs and went to the front desk, where we were informed that they were testing the fire alarm for an inspection. My grandbaby was terrified by the loud alarm. We had no warning that this was going to take place. On the second day, the temperature in the room was again warm. I turned the air conditioning down to 69 degrees, but during the night, the unit stopped working. I tried calling the front desk, but there was no answer. I later learned that there was no service due to the Internet being down. I adjusted the AC unit several times throughout the night, but when I woke up sweating, the room temperature was at 79 degrees. No matter how low I set the thermostat, hot air continued to come out of the unit. I went downstairs to complain, and the staff member I spoke with told me I should have called the front desk. I explained that I had tried, but no one answered and that the phones weren't working because of the Internet issue. She then suggested that I should have come down to the desk in the middle of the night, and they could have moved me to a different room. However, I didn't want to pack up my belongings and move. She assured me she would fix the problem. When I returned to my room, I found it cold, but I was informed that they could not refund any of my stay because I had already occupied the room. I found this unfair. I took a picture of the thermostat showing it was set to 69 degrees, while the room temperature was at 80 degrees. I asked the staff member what she did to fix it, and she simply said that she moved a switch on the unit. I told her I had already tried everything I could, and it still hadn't worked for me. I am left wondering if they set the unit to stop working at a certain temperature, as I heard several other guests complaining about their rooms being hot.

This hotel was convenient and comfortable for my trip to Austin. It was priced much lower than most alternatives, and met all my typical requirements. Breakfast was good, rooms were clean, and I appreciated the upgraded Peleton bike they had in the gym (I hate all the old exercise bikes on hotels, and wish more would switch to spin bikes).

There's no airport shuttle first of all, despite being an airport location. My Lyft ride was more than I anticipated. At least I got Hilton Honors points for the ride, not worth the hassle though. When I woke in the morning, there were roaches in my room! This tells me there's an ongoing issue. You see a couple, there are many elsewhere. The hotel had an unpleasant smell, in the lobby and all the way to my room on the 6th floor. I sprayed the room with air freshener that I carried with me to make it tolerable. As a frequent traveler to Austin and a Hilton Honors loyalist, I will not stay here again.

I was here for a quick weekend away and I was pleasantly surprised by the service ans hospitality. My only issues was that upon check in my room was not as tidy as I would have hoped. While I could tell it was cleaned, the tidy job seemed a little rushed. I was able to ask for room service and the issue was promptly resolved. Breakfast was wonderful and effectively kept by the staff. I would come back for sure.

Morning receptionist did not do late check out, because she said she was booked for the day but I went later and they had room available, I'm a diamond customer, and I had an emergency.

In Austin Texas for the weekend and since I adore the Hampton Inns my employer booked me at this location. I was not greeted with a usual warm welcome. I observed the male employee wearing a face mask and the female employee eating her late night/early morning snack behind the counter and touching things with her orange eating fingers. Ewww I don't know why it is that Hampton's will put Corporate Lodging guests by the elevator or the emergency exit doors. So what I hear all night and day is the emergency exit door open and loudly slammed shut or the elevator bing as guests chitter shatter as they find their rooms. When asked to change rooms as usual no other rooms available. I would not say they have bus parking because there was a school and another motorcoach on the lot and made it impossible to pass thru which I only noticed after I pulled around. Check in was not quick and since they required $50 incidentals which NEVER ever happens at the many Hampton's I frequent. But whatever I'm tired. Checking out was just and horrible as checking in.

Meeting room for a customer.... not exactly the best room I've ever been in. It is a good sized space, they did set up tables, and the people are very helpful. However this is an older Hampton... not run down yet but on its way. My biggest issue were the lights in the room... they kept pulsing... every few second... it was maddening!! Literally we had to turn them off for a long period so we didn't go into seizures! It was not a good way to hold a meeting. Fortunately the customer was ok and our presentation part needed it dark. But when we needed light we had to depend on the two small North facing windows which let in little actual light. Then there is a bathroom right in the meeting room. This is just weird... who wants everyone to hear them go to the bathroom?!?! It all worked out... the meeting went well... and again the people were very helpful and nice, but the light thing was a real issue... we will not use this location in the future.

Glad I stayed here. It's convenient right off the highway, but quiet. Room was nice and cold and stayed that way all night. Blackout curtains, although light creeps underneath them. BREAKFAST was good! Mini cheese egg omelets, crispy bacon, & hash brown patties like McDonalds. Waffles, muffins, cereal, fruit, coffee, & juice machine. Not sure it's the same all week long, I thought I heard the front desk guy say they may only have a meat on the weekends but I could be wrong. I spoke to a lot of hotels during my research so I may have scrambled info. Bed was very comfortable and spacious! I slept well, I was grateful. Room seemed very clean. Front desk was very nice, kind, & courteous. A+++

I didn't realize how much the Hilton Brand changed until I checked into this hotel. I'm a Hilton honors member- no longer matters. Keep your info private they don't even give you complimentary water or snacks anymore. The room smells like funk and the staff is clueless. Stay elsewhere in Austin.
