Well Erin, I don't know if I want a sandwich that tastes like integrity because I've never tasted that before. Well let me tell you right now you're going to get brave. You're going to get bold. You're going to go and eat one of the best Italian subs in Austin. The city is lacking greatly in great sandwiches. Knuckle sandwiches fills that Gap. You don't trust the random review? That might be a little sassy? How about the guys that worked at a Joe robichon? Is that fancy enough for your fancy pallet?? Because that's these guys. How about the meat taste like it was sliced in heaven. I don't care what God you follow, you better cover your face like you're eating the Ortolan Bunting. So he doesn't see. Because it is unworldly. Amazing.

Well, I am from the East Coast and always come into such things with the "I'll be the judge of that" attitude. So, with that said, they pretty much nail it with the East Coast thing. The actual Knuckle Sandwich itself consists of Italian meats, peppers, lettuce, onions, and aioli. You know what makes it stand out and super fab? The sandwich is topped with Parmesan crisps. Oh, heck yes! All piled on a herbed sub roll with mad freshness. They get a B+ for sure!

After a few games of pickleball I was starving and decided to give it a try. The lamb sandwich caught my eye which was super flavorful and herbaceous. I skipped the beets, but it still hit the spot and paired perfectly with a cold beer. My friend got the Knuckle Sandwich and wow. Think Italian sub on steroids with a crispy parmesan layer that adds the perfect crunch. Only downside? The price. These sandwiches run over $20 and while they're delicious that price point makes it hard to justify on the regular. Still I'd definitely stop by again when I'm in the area. Worth a visit if you're nearby and craving something bold and satisfying!

We went with the Knuckle Sandwich, and it was a knockout. The bread was perfection -- that crisp-chewy balance you hope for but rarely get. Piled high with Olympia Provisions mortadella, capicola, and salami, the meat was top-notch and generously portioned. The toppings took it over the top: Mamma Lil's peppers (iykyk), crisp shredduce, punchy onion, savory parm crisp, amba aioli, and a za'atar vinaigrette that brought a wild, flavorful twist. This place isn't just hype, it's genuinely bringing something fresh to the sandwich game. Highly recommend if you're craving a deli-style sandwich with serious flavor and a modern spin.

I stopped at Knuckle Sandwich to pick up a couple of sammies for my friend and I. We decided to go with the OG Knuckle Sandwich and the Mushroom Reuben. I also got a side of the pickled beets. The beets had a great pickled flavor, but they were much more crunchy than I expected. I think my only recommendation for that would be to cook them a tad longer so they're a hair softer. But otherwise, I would order them again. The Mushroom Reuben was good. I think I prefer classic Reubens haha, but this is a great option for all you vegetarians out there. The Knuckle Sandwich is absolutely where it's at though. Think an Italian sandwich with a Middle Eastern spin. The za'atar vinaigrette added such an amazing flavor to a sandwich with fantastic bread, tasty meat, and a healthy amount of veggies. I look forward to trying their other sandwiches as well as eating another Knuckle Sandwich.

knuckle sandwich was about as big as my knuckle. Don't get me wrong it was a very delicious sandwich! It was kind of smallish. I know I'm not an influencer or a foodie person (at least not a famous one) but damn why they do me like this? For $20 I'd've expected more volume. Didn't even get the little parm crunchy. Peroni was good with it, 5 Stars for the beer working so well with it.

Great sandwich find in Austin! Bread toasted kept great texture with the poppy seed bun! I got the Knuckle Sandwich and the Lamb Sammie. Both were very good but I would choose the Knuckle Sandwich 12inch next time over the lamb. The knuckle sandwich has some parm crips on there that provided great crunch! Plus the variety of meat and flavor profile of the sandwich was killer. Highly recommend this sandwich spot at Ants Beer cave! Such a cool vibe and great service. Food came out fairly quick.

I recently tried Knuckle Sandwich and ordered the Lamb Sammie along with the chickpea tots. Unfortunately, it wasn't quite what I was hoping for, especially at the price point. The sandwich had potential, but the balance of flavors was off. The bread leaned heavily into za'atar seasoning, and while I appreciate fresh herbs, the mint was completely overpowering. I know lamb and mint are a classic pairing, but in this case, it felt like I was biting into a mint sandwich with a side of lamb--those flavors should have been infused into the meat rather than dominating the toppings. The chickpea bites were actually great, crispy outside, soft inside, and well-seasoned, but you only get five for $5, which just doesn't sit right--$1 per tot feels excessive. That said, the sauces that came with them were excellent. The biggest drawback for me was the pricing. My total came out to $26 for a sandwich and chickpea tots, which is hard to justify for a food truck. I understand that's what they charge, but I can't see this becoming a regular go-to spot for most people. It seems more like a one-time try rather than a repeat destination. I'm giving 4 stars because the service was friendly, the food was edible, and I don't want to dock too much for cost--if people are willing to pay, then that's the price. I just personally don't think it's worth it.

I was excited to try Knuckle Sandwich after a ton of positive ink on social media & Austin food sites and such. So, I was prepared to be underwhelmed as it was hyped up. I thought it was really cool how they list where they source their food from, and 1/2 of the bread comes from Abby Jane (and they use the adjacent Barton Springs Mill for grain), so that pumped me up as Drip is my jam! Anyway, I took one look at my sandwich and I just kinda said, this looks impressive. And it only took one bite, and I was absolutely shocked. The sandwich was just incredible. I had the turkey one (and will be back for the others). I can't even tell you the last time I had bread like the bread they use. Fresh/crispy. It's hard to explain how good this sandwich is, and well worth the premium price you pay. I also had the Matzah Ball soup and it had this freshness to it and a great matzah ball that kinda took me back to my grandmas on Staten Island. However, it was a bit on the salty side for my taste. In contrast, I wish my Grandma would have used *any* salt in hers, but that's a story for another time. Lastly, I have to say the whole area, the brewery that Knuckle Sandwich is associated with is amazing. Benches to sit in (with heaters), indoor/outdoor pickleball courts, a pizza truck right next to it...and more broadly speaking the whole Yard is filled with food trucks, breweries, distilleries - just awesome. I will be back and this is one of the places i will bring friends/family visiting to show them how cool Austin is!
