While visiting Austin, we were in the mood for some Asian flavors after having a bunch of Tex-Mex, and that is when we spotted Koriente. The atmosphere inside is not that of a place in which you want to spend countless hours, but it is perfectly acceptable for a meal with friends. What we found truly remarkable about Koriente is its value. We tried a bunch of dishes, none of which were the best we had ever had, but they were good, and all portions were very generous. Most of the dishes go between $10-$20, and they have options for everyone, from vegans to fish lovers. All in all, if you are looking for some Asian flavors, Koriente is a great alternative to eat in or take out without breaking the bank.

I usually don't like leaving bad reviews, but wow--that was FOUL. I ordered the rice medallion sauté with the recommended pork belly as my protein and asked for no mushrooms. The girl taking my order was friendly and even double-checked if it was an allergy--I told her no, I just really don't like mushrooms. But when I got home and started eating, everything in that dish tasted like mushrooms--or at least had that same gross, slimy, squishy texture. Even the pork belly (I think?) was soft, squishy, and honestly disgusting. Pork belly can be amazing when it's grilled or fried and crispy, but this was the total opposite. I don't get the hype around Koriente at all. The only good thing was the friendly and honestly super fast service.

I've ordered from Koriente through Uber Eats before and have really enjoyed the food--it's consistently flavorful and satisfying. I recently visited in person and got my usual order, the shiitake tofu, which was just as delicious as I remembered. That said, the overall dine-in experience could be improved. I tried the tea for the first time and, unfortunately, it wasn't quite to my taste. That was the main reason my rating is a bit lower this time. Also, a small note on the bento box: it typically comes with a tea included, but this wasn't made very clear during ordering. My friend didn't realize it was complimentary until someone else in our group ordered, which led to some confusion. It might help to clarify that more up front to avoid any misunderstandings. Still, I really appreciate the quality of the food and will definitely continue to order again!

Koriente never disappoints! I've been here a handful of times over the years and was here again last week before the Rico Nasty concert at Empire Control room. It's a very convenient spot to eat if you are going somewhere after on Red River! Inside feels warm and cozy with unique decorations. The service is always friendly and prompt. You order at the front and they bring you your food. I had the Shiitake Tofu dish and my friend at the Japchei (sweet potato noodle) dish. I ordered mine spicy and was a bit surprised they actually made it spicy, which I like! I look forward to my next visit and often wish they had one closer to where I live up north!

This is peak "asian fusion" the chicken teriyaki was pretty salty, the gyoza felt frozen, the rice was good, and my partner enjoyed his tofu mushroom bowl. My dish came with miso soup, but was never directed that it's in a vat by the counter, vegan! Yuck! Barely had miso flavor. Honestly if this is Asian food in Austin I'll pass.

4.5 Stars Wholesome, delicious, homestyle Asian food. I thoroughly enjoyed the pork dumpling and pork belly bento ($14). I loved all the components - the juicy pork dumplings, fresh summer roll, flavorful thinly sliced pork belly, crunchy daikon pickles, and chewy fluffy purple rice. I had a bite of my BF's noodles and they were wonderful. Great portions too. Free miso soup is the cherry on top. I thought it was a 5, BF thought it was a 4, so I average it out. Order at the counter and take a seat - casual ambience. Friendly and energetic staff.

The service was good. The food was delicious. It is just a short drive from the capitol building so we went for lunch. Miso soup was really good. Everything from the bento boxes to the dishes were pretty much great. The red pepper dipping sauce is incredible. The prices are really affordable and the strawberry lemonade was super. Not some Sugar syrup drink but tasted fresh and handmade.

Value for money!!! The portions are super huge and tasty at the same time. Ambience could have been better but it felt good after sometime. My fav was the Koriente curry with half rice and half noodle. The noodle was so good and the curry had an authentic taste to it. I went for the mild spicy. The mixmix was bibimbap and the tofu add-on was well sauted and had a great taste to it. The best part was the free miso soup. It was great with seaweed!! Ended up spending $30 for two.
