I learned so much while visiting this museum. LBJ's accomplishments are impressive. Since it's so packed with info (multiple floors etc) you will need at least 2 hours here. While I was there, the museum was celebrating what would have been LBJ's 117th birthday. They had cupcakes for all. It was adorable. My favorite part is the animatronic of LBJ. It's so cool and pretty realistic. I also enjoyed the section with the replica of the Oval Office during his time of presidency. It was also very interesting learning about his wife, Lady Bird, since she had a direct impact on Austin. This museum is nestled on UT campus. Parking is easy since there is a lot. Make sure you park in the correct area though. Overall, great spot to visit for tourists and locals alike!

This was my second Presidential Library I've been able to visit (JFK being the other). The library itself definitely has a 1960s/early 1970s feel to it. The LBJ Library definitely highlighted his desire for equal rights and The Great Society. It was also easily recognized the President's angst over the Vietnam War and how to get the US troops home. We easily spent two hours walking around the Library/Museum. There are a multitude of admission discounts available. This is a must visit if you're in the Austin area. It is extremely well done.

This is the second presidential library & museum I've entered: the first was Jimmy Carter's in Atlanta, Georgia during the COVID summer I was an intern there. Again, another mainstay on my Austin bucket list. Happy to have checked it off this past weekend. Came in with no expectations & left extremely pleased. The building's exterior is elegant & gorgeous, and the small garden on the side in honor of Lady Bird is so sweet. One of the visitor's services was so passionate about his job he offered a brief intro to anyone who walked by for maps or to drop off backpacks/suitcases. He profusely apologized for making us wait, but he didn't need to! His intro was lovely, and he made a funny comment about "all about the branding" because the Johnson family all have the same initials. The exhibition itself was top notch. I always cherish avenues to learn more about the Vietnam War & it sucks to compare all the heartwarming policies & people LBJ championed to what's going on right now - for lack of a better word. Lady Bird's office is definitely the best view, and it's always cool to see Oval Office replicas. I wish I had more time to read each description & object closely, but what I did get to see was more than enough to cover the entrance fee.

Very informative tour! Many of the floors are currently under construction so only floors 3 and 10 were open. Still a great tour.

From the outside, it seem the library is small, and it is compared to other presidential libraries. But it will leave a lasting impression. First the relationship between LBJ & UT, secondly, the center staircase (it just simply mind blowing, pics can't described). I'm very impressed. Also tiny garden of Lady Bird Johnson on the site of the building was very nice with a lot of great quotes.

This was the first presidential library that I have been to, and I was impressed. The staff was friendly, informational, and accommodating. They provided a free wheelchair for my elderly mother, and gave us a suggested route through the floors. The museum itself was very interesting. There was a combination of informational walls, displays, photos, films, mannequins, etc. that was all quite interesting. There was an also an interesting juxtaposition between his ideals of a "Great Society" and his support of the Vietnam War. After visiting the LBJ Library, now I am curious about the other presidential libraries out there. I will need to put these on my list whenever visiting a city.

With Lyndon Baines Johnson's mixed record, which included the most impressive social programs since FDR, including Mediare and his poorly conceived Vietnam war, LBJ was one of the most important presidents of the 20th century. His museum reflects both of these legacies with nice presentations on each. And it gives credit to his wife "Ladybird" Johnson for her important contributions to American aesthetic. God willing we will see her recommended billboard ban implemented someday. Worth a half day to visit with the enticing city of Austin to envelop the other half of a day visit.

I guess I am spoiled this is my 6th presidential library. I love cars and trains and planes. This Museum has many levels of archives. I was sort of underwhelmed. I must say the staff could not have been nicer and free parking is amazing and the location is not to hard to far off any highway.

What a wonderful museum. It's very interactive and informative. The volunteers are so friendly and accommodating. I couldn't find the elevator to the 10th floor and I was quickly approached by a very nice gentleman. He walked me through the maze and made sure I got on the elevator. I recommend buying a passport book of Presidential Museums/Libraries in the gift shop. I got my first stamp and handwritten date. I can't wait to visit the other 12!
