Thanks to the Yelp Elite program, I had the opportunity to catch the National Theater of Scotland's performance of 'Let the Right One In'. The use of sound, chilly lighting, and great acting really helped sell the performance of this play, based on one of my favorite horror/romance films. This well-maintained facility is in the same building but is separate from the Bass Concert Hall. While street parking *might* be closer, I'd recommend parking at the San Jacinto parking garage and taking the short walk there. In short, A very good venue for theater, highly recommended!

Saw my very first opera here and now I'm hooked. I never knew that it was possible for someone's voice to be so beautiful that it would bring tears to your eyes. Words cannot express the emotions released when I heard Soonchan Kwon And Hanna Lee For the first time. To say their voices are so incredibly beautiful is putting it mildly. Soonchan Kwon is the one in the video I posted, wasn't able to capture Hanna but trust me she's effing amazing and adorable to boot.

This review is for a small, cozy theater, on the UT campus, the McCullough theater. Parking is on your own, since this was late at night, I parked in the LBJ Library and Museum parking lot. This parking lot is a very close walk down to this charming theater. This theater has a friendly staff of volunteers, and that is something that I enjoy immensely. The volunteers were helpful, enthusiastic, and made me feel very welcome. The small lobby had an interesting sculpture, and did offer drinks during the intermission. My seats were towards the front of the theater, a little bit to stage left. I think I had some of the best seats in the house. The show was fabulous, the lighting and the sound quality just perfect. I would give the theater five stars, except that I have an exceptionally sensitive derrière. I have to be sitting in a pretty plush theater seat, to give a theater a five. When the seats are too small, or too short, or too hard, it might interfere just a little bit with the experience of the show. I found myself shifting around from side to side, trying to get comfortable. And I am 5'9" so I'm not on the too tall side either. If I could write this review based only on the performance that I attended, I would have to give this theater a five. The show, "let the right one in," deserves as many stars as possibly could be given to any performance. This is a performance I would recommend to anyone else to try to go see.

You remember the theater your college had on campus that was reminicent of the 60's? The one with orange carpet and groovy tiles in the bathroom? That's the vibe this theater gives off. It's not very large, but it's just right for plays, musicals, and end of semester curtain calls by dance majors. None of the seats are bad seats. There are drinks and snacks for sale in the lobby. Anyone ever seen wine in a sippy cup for you to enjoy DURING the show?! Now that I've been here, and witnessed first hand how the place operates, I know I will be back. Note: You can pay to park right in front of the theater for about $10, but if there is a show going on at the other theater next door, it will be about $20. The night I went it was the only event taking place in that area of campus, so I drove around until I found a free parking spot and walked. It was a short walk, so it was no big deal.

This is an OK performance venue. It's a little on the older side, but it does the job. The seats were small and cramped, making it difficult for people to walk by. It was also freezing, and I just kept on thinking about how cold it was during the performance. Parking was pretty easy if you pay the $6 parking ticket online before the day of the show. The actual performance was wonderful, but the venue was just "meh."
